Common Questions and Answers about Celexa jitters

celexa

416625 tn?1203288998 I was prescribed Celexa (by a psychiatrist) for post partum depression/depression. I have not started it (my baby is 7 months) and am thinking of trying amino acids/vitamin supplements. My question is....Have any of you tried this approach and has it worked? My other question is....if I do go the Celexa way....are there bad withdrawls if you go off? And is it good for anxiety. He said it is, but I just read on here that somebody said it gave them the jitters... thanks so much....
Avatar f tn t feel 100% like myself so my doctor thinks I should try Celexa, 20 mg a day. I read there is supposed to be less side effects with Celexa, has anyone found that to be true? I always get nervous starting a new medication so I'm just trying to relax and think positive. If anyone has any suggestions to get through the first couple of weeks I would really appreciate it. Thanks very much!
Avatar m tn At first, Celexa made me sleepy and relaxed. Believe me, this was a Good Thing! At last, I could sleep well! I cannot say that the drug itself decreased my PVCs--however, it DID decrease my awareness of them. Since their frequency was related to my anxiety and awareness of them (because of the effects of adrenaline), as I became less and less conscious of these sensations, the frequency of PVCs decreased dramatically. Trust your doctor and give this a try.
Avatar f tn I am on Celexa which is being weined and Prozac was started yesterday. I cold turkey quit Lortab 60mg as f 6pm on Sunday after 8 months of use. Today when I get up too quickly, I become very dizzy and almost pass out. Am I in seratonin syndrome?
Avatar f tn I have been on Effexor 75 mg. for a couple of months and still get the jitters, especially upon awakening and afternoon. Should med be upped or try something different. I started tapering down and things were fine so I reinstated 75 mg. Jitters are back. Do I need more med for residual anxiety or a different med?
Avatar f tn I was on the max dose of celexa. That is why I had to switch and we went with snri. Still have jitters every now and then.
7509546 tn?1391696646 more internally than anything but I can see it in my hands! im on celexa only been on it for 2wks and and I take klonopin....just was wondering if anyone has experienced this? im going to see the neuro next wk....ive had several severe panic attacks bc of it.....everyone I have spoke with says its anxiety.....has anyone else had this and if so when did it go away?
Avatar m tn Fluoxetine which is generic makes my anxiety worse I have tried Zoloft cymbalta ambilify, celexa xanax the list continues. I take xanax from time to time but that's only a short term solution. I did therapy CBT and exposure for a year, waste of time. I also have seen other therapists for longer than a year.
Avatar f tn i have jitters in my stomach and cant stand to be closed up in a room or alone and my breathing is heavy what do i do?
Avatar f tn I have been on celexa for about a year 30 mg and decided to stopped, i tapered it down over the course of a couple of months, down to 20mg for 1month and 10mg for about 5-6 weeks then stopped 9 days ago. Holy smoke, a couple days after the last dose, i was more moody, emotional, i felt like i was on speed at night, if i slept 3 hours total at night it was great, i kept tossing and turning, my whole body was jitterry. I got up in the am feeling like i had worked the night shift.
Avatar m tn I have been taking ultram/vicodin for the past 6 years. I started on vicodin (up to 6 10/325 a day but only about 4 a day average, then after 3 years switched to ultram rather the generic version which I took no more than 4 a day (average 3) for 4 years. I quit cold turkey 5 days ago and withdraw symptoms (cold sweats, uncontrollable temperature variations (too cold/too hot, can't regulate) were actually extremely mild, but the jitters, they are persistent.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum - I've been on Zoloft for 5 weeks, slowly increased my dosage to 100mg, been on 100mg for 2 weeks and I've been experiencing the 'coffee jitters' for the past week. I know as soon as the jitters and shake go away I'll be cured from this terrible anxiety! My question is: did anyone else have the jitters and shakes, if so, when will it go away?
494087 tn?1257793207 It is one of the newer ADs and is a refined version of Celexa. If you do some web searches you will find those that love it and those that hate it. The standard dose is 10mg, my daughter's pdoc says that she takes some patients up to 30mg though. It can have side effects. If you decide to try it be forewarned that you should do a slow taper to get off it as some people have nasty withdrawal.
Avatar f tn I went off for 3-4 months and then it suddenly hit me, I had never been this anxious. And I do see a therapist regularly. I just couldn’t shake the jitters, I felt awful. I debated for weeks whether to go back on the meds or not. I was never on anything anti-anxiety, but took Celexa for depression. I decided to start taking it again, and I feel alive again. I am so happy I made that decision. I feel so much calmer and in touch with reality. Hope you get better. I know how it feels.
Avatar m tn I've searched the web and here and no really good answer. I'm taking a Sonata about 3 or 4 oclock in the morning. It does cause some jitters next day. Now I've started Sam-e and a Super Beta Complex and the Jitters are unbearable. I take some Xanax and it helps some. I can't take much and still function. The question is ... Is it the Sam-e or the Super B Complex causing the extreme jitters or anxiety?
Avatar f tn i duno i didnt wanna do it because the one thing says gives you the coffee jitters so that scared me away from it, the hole wd feels like bad coffee jitters so y would i wanna add to that lol take the vitamins instead it worked for me
Avatar f tn I've doubled my dose of celexa and I've been feeling more anxious for the last 2 weeks. I'm told that it'll get better soon.
Avatar m tn Now, I am still having heart palpitations, weight and appetite loss, tingling, jitters, fatigue, low intimacy and insomnia. GP still says it's anxiety and wants to try celexa. I feel like it is Hyperthyroidism. I feel like I am losing my mind. Can you have normal TSH and be on the Hyper side??
Avatar f tn 1st two weeks on 10 mg, 2nd two weeks on 20 mg. was so jittery doc put me back on 10 mg. for the next 3 weeks. Jitters never stopped so I was switched to Zoloft the next day. Started at 25 mg for a week. Jitters seem to be fading with the Prozac leaving my system. The 2nd week I was raised to 50 mg. jitters are back!!! Thought I might try to ride it out for a week or so, but maybe these are not for me????
Avatar f tn I have the same issues & I did go to a sleep clinic & they said I have Apnea. I cannot get used to my machine & therefore I don't use it. I was told that I tend to hold my breath when I am in REM & on a scale for Apnea I was only a 6. Anyways...I have anxiety/MVP too & I went back on Zoloft (75mg) & 0.5 Xanax at bedtime. I no longer am waking gasping for air...but I am waking up with inside jitters, that go away after I wake up & get on my feet...
1166402 tn?1303847056 Lexapro is a metabolite of Celexa... it's ''the new Celexa''. Supposed to have less side-effects for that matter. Just think of the tricyclic nortriptyline being the major active metabolite of amiltrityline which makes nortriptyline a second generation tricyclic.
