Celexa made me really sick to my stomach ...I'm on Activan right know but not a long term med to addicting going bk to the dr next week!
I am just wondering if anyone on this site has tried lexapro and just to see if it worked with anyone. My doctor said that I had GAD so I was just wondering as well what other medications could be suitable for this other than lexapro. I really want something to work because I really want to try to get off the xanax as soon as I can.
My therapist believes I have a little GAD along with some male post partum....took 20 mg of celexa for 2 weeks then got upped to 30 mg which I've been taking for 3 weeks. I am much better than when I first started and have gone through the early side effects (dry mouth, fatigue, fogginess, etc).
With that said, I have had some very good days followed by days filled with general anxiety.
Well if it worked for you ,then take it ,alot of people read stuff and freak themselves out so bad they suffer instead,so ask yourself ,gad ,or no gad?
5 mg for the anxiety and Celexa 60 mg, for the depression. My GAD got real bad about 7 months ago after I underwent colon surgery but prior to that, in the mid 90;s, I was having panic attacks and have suffered from anxiety just didn't have a name for it. This is a wonderful place to post and I am glad that you are going to see a "shrink". I love mine. He is very understanding and compassionate...very important for people with GAD....
I'm a 39 male with major depression and GAD. I take Celexa 40mg, Ativan 1mg, and Trazodone 100mg at bedtime. But the meds don't seem to work for my insomina. Can I add unisom or not a good idea to take also? I hate call my dr. tommorrow and tell him the meds aren't working for me. I have taken Ativan, Trazodone, and unisom to help me sleep before. My doc switch the Celexa from morning to nighttime tonight. And I was taking Ativan 3x a day now only at night or when needed.
I'm adhd and GAD I am currently on adderal and celexa has been added. I hate antidepressant medications because they make me manic. Does anyone have this problem? Im thinking I may have a little bipolar even though my pdoc said he didn't see any signs.
I was on 60 mg. Celexa and had weaned off Klonopin because things seemed better. I started getting shaky and uneasy a few times a month, but was dealing. Next thing you know....full blown attacks with constant GAD. No real trigger I can think of at that time. I found a different Dr. who was more familiar with GAD and she put me back on Klonopin .5mg 2x per day. This did the trick and I have been anxiety free for two weeks.
Currently taking 30 mgs of Paxil because of severe GAD. Because of weight gain doctor has suggested switching to Zoloft. How do you think the doctor could switch. Does it work for most people in switching from one SSRI to another or do most people have significant side effects?
i've posted on here a couple times before describing my GAD as brought on by amphetamine abuse... most of my symptoms manifest themselves within my head. I feel dizzy and kind of as if my heart beat is in my head and like i'm just losing control and just really tired all the time
Anyways, i was prescribed celexa but dont want to take an anti depressant so i decided to start using 5HTP. so far i've been taking one 100mg pill before i go to sleep at night..

so i went back to my docs today and told her how my anxiety is 10 times worse than it was as i got identified with GAD ( general anxiety disorder) which is id say harder to cope with than depression at the mo, so she suggest i switch from 20mg prozac to 10mg celexa which is used for depression aswell as focus's slightly more on the anxiety side of things, as i have only been on the prozac for less than a month does anybody know if it is really nessercary to taper down 1 every other day
Lucky for me I had no problem at all getting off the Effexor. I did it on my own. I took out about ten grains every day for the first the first week, 20 grains each day the second week and so on. It was a capsule and it took patience and good eyesight. I had no withdrawal whatsoever. I took 1mg of klonopin 2x a day for panic disorder with GAD. It worked great. When I tried lowering the Klonopin my panic attacks returned. I think menopause has a lot to do with it.
I have had anxiety or Gad for about 2 and a half years give or take and ever day is a struggle. Some are better then the others but I just try to stay positive. The past few days have been really bad I mean I suffer from dp/dr which are the two worst symptoms I have and I am on xanax which helps with the panic attacks but now it feels as if it does not work. It feels as if I am loosing my mind and it is too late to get it back. Any suggestions on what I should do would be great.
I suffer from GAD and Panic Attacks. I currently take 40 mg of Celexa, and was prescribed Klonopin to take as needed if my anxiety or panic becomes unmanageable. I've taken Xanax a few times in the past and it seemed to work really good. I would take one .25mg dose of Xanax and that seemed to be enough. My Klonopin prescription is for .5 of Klonopin up to 3X a day as needed. If .25 of Xanax was enough....should I start out with .
Lexapro scares me and sam-e who knows what. I am taking clonazepam for gad, doc wants wean me off with lexapro. All drugs scare me but going through tough time.
I have recently began having GAD and a few panic attacks. I am used to the tingling in my chest and back. This time around I am getting a very uncomfortable kind of stimulations in my genitals. I have been checked for a UTI and vaginal infection. Both negative. This sensation is all-consuming. Any body else with this problem? I am on Celexa and Neurontin. I tapered off Klonopin about four months ago. I am having problems on a daily basis for the last two weeks. I am barely functional.
