Celexa for stress

Common Questions and Answers about Celexa for stress

celexa

Avatar f tn I started taking celexa five days ago after going to my doctor for a f/u and completely breaking down bawling like a baby (my mom was just diagnosed with acute leukemia). On day two, I developed a severe headache and very stiff neck. I have had migraines in the past that originate in my neck/shoulder area. So, I thought I was getting a migraine like I've had in the past...I started doing all the things that have worked to relieve the pain before (massage, advil, heat, ice, rest, etc.
1691630 tn?1329366215 I have had gastritis for 4 months but thought it was anxiety until a few months ago when I started taking Omeprazole for it. When a wave of heartburn or sick stomach feeling hits from nowhere and lasts for hours, it is easy ot think it is anxiety butterflies. I went on Celexa in Nov thinking I had an anxiety problem (which I do to some degree) but lately have been wondering if I even need it. I don't want to go off until the gastritis settles down. If it ever does.
Avatar m tn cycle and suffering constant panic attacks and I have myself convinced that there is something wrong with my heart despite having a normal ECHO in January, a normal treadmill stress test 2 weeks ago, a normal 24 hours holter 2 months ago and normal blood pressure and cholesterol. My Dr. prescribed me 20 mg of Celexa which I took a few years ago and helped a great deal.
Avatar n tn Hi all, I'm a 28 y/o male and I've had a history of panic attacks (on 40mg Celexa for it). I've been pretty good, but about 2 weeks ago I came into a bout of insomnia (stress from work and grad school). My doc wrote me a scrip for 150mg of Trazodone. I've never had Trazodone before and the literature I've read seems to indicate 150mg out of nowhere is a high dose. Opinions? Anyone worked with this stuff before?
Avatar n tn Hi, I have been prescribed celexa for my anxiety problems which were chest pains, dizzyness, loss of concentration etc. I have been on 20 mg now for about a month and a half and I was wondering how long it takes for a case like mine to recover and finally come off celexa. Also one weird thing ive noticed is that my eye is twitching a lot which is the only side effect I have from this drug. Will it go away? Anyone else taking celexa for anxiety?
Avatar f tn celexa is a good medication but when it comes to antidepressants u should follow the rule of {TRIAL AND ERROR} since there r different medications for depression our bodies responce is different so u should be on celexa for about 4 weeks to decide wether its good for u
329994 tn?1301663248 Hi there! What is the reason your doctor is recommending Lexapro? I am just curious. I have had many doctors try to write me off as just being depressed. But I fought back. I do have depression but I KNEW that wasn't causing my other issues. I have not been diagnosed with CFS or Fibro but I have been dealing with severe fatigue for going-on 10 years. I did just recently get a diagnosis of Neurocardiogenic Syncope. I was first put on Lexapro probably 8 years ago for depression.
Avatar f tn S right off the bat. So I wore a holter monitor the next day and am scheduled for a stress echo next week. I'm also having "female issues" where I have a perpetual period the last month and a half. Took progesterone for that from my GYN but that didn't seem to fix it. I'm scared that I'm basically just falling apart. I have a 3 year old that I love but also drives me to insanity. I want to be "normal" for him or at least back to how i was before i had him.
Avatar f tn t have much of an appetite before the Celexa, but now I have zero appetite. Is this a normal side effect of Celexa or just the stress? When I take a Klonopin after work, in a few hours I can eat a small but decent meal.
Avatar n tn You say Been prescribed Celexa but Doc is considering that I might have bipolar 2, is the same doc who has prescribed celexa the one to have concluded BP2 or for instance you were prescribed celexa by a GP then your pdoc told you to stop it as you may have BP2. Incidentally all pharm companies marketing antidepressants say they don't drive people manic yet they do.
808293 tn?1238602183 I've been on celexa for about 8 weeks now.... I was having trouble getting to sleep at first and still needed some occasional xanax to help my mind stop racing....i then found myself getting to sleep fine but waking up much earlier than normal...now, I am getting to sleep pretty easily and staying asleep. I think you probably need to give the celexa another couple of weeks and see if you have improvement.
Avatar n tn I have been taking celexa (20 mg) for two weeks for anxiety with Klonopin just when I need it. I don't like the way the celexa is making me feel. Do you think I will have any side effects only taking it for two weeks if I stop?
Avatar m tn If you're only 22 it's unlikely to be the most common cause of this in men, which is an enlarged prostate. I have this all the time thanks to a wonderful (joke) surgeon and it's no fun, but I'm 64.
Avatar m tn I've got some general questions about celexa....been on 40 mg for 5 months, dropped down to 20 mg for the last month or so. My anxiety as a whole as dropped tremendously, but I still have anxious moments. No panic attacks, just a little shortness of breath. My question....can Celexa actually cause a little bit of anxiety? I understand that anxiety can initially increase when starting meds, but I'm wondering if it can continue to cause a bit of anxiety.
619930 tn?1260374254 for something to help me deal with anxiety/anger sides that I have been dealing with for almost 2 months. She prescribed Celexa and I started it on Thursday night and have been really nauseous along with a fuzzy almost headache ever since. I thought my stomach issues were relatively under control before this started, but now I am having the hardest time eating much of anything.
Avatar m tn is celexa just for depression?? or does it also help with anxiety's?? is this one on the bottom of the list?? like zoloft,paxil,lexapro,prozac..this is in the same category as these others....please explain this??
Avatar m tn My doctor thinks so and prescribed some Ativan and Celexa. I think I fell the affects of the Celexa because I feel like Im in a good mood most of the time. Im still having chest pains and my heart rate will increase for no apparent reason. Sometimes both hands will turn purple colors now. So Celexa has helped my mood but not my symptoms. Whats wrong with me?
Avatar n tn I've just been put on citalopram for depression and BDD and after reading the reviews and side effects leaflets, im worried about gaining weight on this medication...Is it the actual increase in hunger that causes weight gain or the tablet itself? I am quite worried about this as my body image issues make me scared about putting on weight..
Avatar m tn 1 took serequel 50-100 mg on and off for 10 years and have been on celexa steady for the last 10 years. Last year I started waking up with tongue protrusion and grimmicing at night. My doc took me off serequel and haven't had any problems like that for the last year. 3 months ago I stopped celexa to get a septoplasty. The only thing i noticed is that when I got stressed my jaw would continually push open and I continued to grind my teeth long after the med was stopped.
Avatar f tn I was on celexa but went to another internal medicine doctor because the celexa was making my panic attacks worse. I just started taking the xanex and effexor for two days it might be just getting used to the new meds but I have not had panic attacks since on effexor and xanex. Got dirreah when I starrted taking this medicine. Just wondering if this was normal and if it takes a bit to work in my system with this new medicine.
358486 tn?1294776388 I was diagnosed with fibro a year ago but have had it for 12 years, and have been on celexa for yearS, it didnt help one thing! I switched to Cymbalta 60mg 4 weeks ago and have much less fatigue and anxiety. They are in the same family of anti-depressants SSRI which increase "feel good" hormones in your body, but i feel cymbalta works much better!! Im hoping to also start Lyrica as well. Let me know if you have any questions.
