celexa

11083698 tn?1415151204 So I have been on Effexor 37.5 mg. for the past four weeks. I asked to be put back on Celexa because I know it works for me, and my doctor approved it. I'm just wondering if I should stop taking the Effexor right off and start the Celexa or somehow wean myself off of the Effexor first?
564072 tn?1218117322 I take neurotin (600 MS 2x daily) for nerve pain, soma (350 mg 2x daily) for muscle spasm, ultam( 100mg 3x daily, clonazepam ( 1 mg 3x dail), celexa (20 mg at night), amitriptylineHCL (200 mg at night). With all this, there are still nighs I can't sleep. I look into Lyrica, but I lost 30 lbs over the last thre years. The information I found reported a weight gain of 50 lbs. Do youhave any advise? Avatar n tn Hi Kim, I was taking Celexa and Klonopin, but I felt like the Celexa had stopped working for me, so my Doctor switched me to Wellbutrin extended release and that seems to be working better for my depression. She did not taper me off, just switched me and I had no withdrawl symptoms. Everyone is different tho...
Avatar f tn I have reinstated Celexa 10mg after going through really bad withdrawal symptoms. My doctor wants to add Rhodiola to the mix cause it has a synergistic effect and will help with my dooms day feelings and stress. I will be taking half a 150mg pill and then moving up. Is this okay? I have read that its okay and that there are no interactions with other meds..and I have read other people say don't mix them and its a bad idea.
Avatar f tn The doc said to use Tramadol for break-through pain. I also take Celexa. I know Tramadol has big contraindications with both drugs. If I take any it's one 50 mg once or twice a day. When I do I feel really bad, like dizzy, light breathing, just not me at all. I've seen on the boards that people take Norco for break-through pain. Will that work? It doesn't seem to present as many complications as Tramadol. What do you all think?
534360 tn?1234721915 I would hold off until you speak to your doc. You're starting the Celexa and Inderal all at once? The Celexa will take time to work, up to 4-6 weeks. The Inderal should be effective for anxiety (is that what you were given it for? ) fairly quickly, however I have some concerns, 40mg three times a day is a pretty hefty dose. Inderal can lower your BP, so you want to be very careful. I would keep an eye on your BP for a few days until you adjust to the med.
Avatar n tn Why was it suggested? Who suggested it to you? This supplement seems like it's designed for bodybuilders. It's not regulated by the FDA, so a pharmacist may not have information on contraindications. Still, a call to your Copaxone pharmacy as well as your PCP are in order.
672788 tn?1238120672 Someone who would be able to answer questions about side effects and contraindications when taking multiple meds for multiple diagnoses?
Avatar n tn What is the generic name, chemical name, classification and contraindications for Lyvoxil?
Avatar n tn I would look into the pharmaceutical company that makes Arimidex and see what contraindications are listed, including food and supplements. Might even be worth putting in an email to them.
Avatar f tn I would say if your doctor prescribed them because your blood was sticky he/she has weighed the benefits vs risk. Does the doctor know about your condition?
Avatar n tn Here are the contraindications for Malaria vaccine (yellow fever) from the CDC web site. It looks like HCV is OK but HIV is contraindicated.
Avatar n tn I would like to know if there are any contraindications with taking the herb red yeast rice with these prescription medications: Topromax 100 mg bid; Zoloft 200 mg @ hs; Xanax 0.5 mg @ hs PRN and oxycodone 5 mg 2 tabs bid for chronic pain. The red yeast rice will be for reducing my elevated Cholesterol as noted: (VLDL=18; TRIGLYCERIDES=92; LDL=155; HDL=59; TOTAL CHOLESTEROL=232). I was initially prescribed Crestor 5 mg by my PCP but due to some severe side affects I stopped taking it.
Avatar m tn If you read the indications and contraindications for Lexapro , you will note that this SSRI can--rarely--cause either high OR low blood pressure, as well as many other side effects. SSRIs that are better known for causing hypertension are Buproprion (Wellbutrin, Zyban), Venlafaxine (Effexor), and Phenelzine (Nardil): http://highbloodpressure.about.com/od/lifeafterdiagnosis/a/antidepressants.
Avatar m tn You probably shouldn't take this with anything -- it isn't a very clean product. Contains some things in the inactive department that aren't good to take, such as talc and certain preservatives and sugar. It's basically hops, valerian and gentian, and you can get much purer versions of these if you stick to the better herb companies rather than television and internet marketers.
Avatar f tn You can look this up by googling saffron and its contraindications. You can also manage this stuff by buying a good herbal -- Prescription for Nutritional Healing and its companion Prescription for Herbal Healing are pretty good places to start. If you Google citalopram, it will also list contraindications, and some sites will have herbs as well. I don't know that saffron will be listed, though, as it's not been as commonly used as many others.
Avatar m tn http://www.thelaboroflove.com/articles/safety-contraindications-of-vicodin-in-the-first-trimester I honestly think tylenol is your best option or asking a doctor . Vicodin is a narcotic pain killer that is used for severe pain. Vicodin falls into a category known as “class C” in terms of its safety and its contraindications in pregnancy. There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.
Avatar n tn Are there any contraindications to allowing my ten-year-old to learn to use a tampon?
1166402 tn?1303847056 Lexapro is a metabolite of Celexa... it's ''the new Celexa''. Supposed to have less side-effects for that matter. Just think of the tricyclic nortriptyline being the major active metabolite of amiltrityline which makes nortriptyline a second generation tricyclic.
222417 tn?1241564300 Hi Again. I was wondering if anyone on this board is on Celexa { Citalopram}. And could they tell me how it feels? I mean do you feel better? As I am supposed to start soon on this medication. Right now I am on Anafranil and klonopin. Dr has decided to try this medication to see if it will make me better because right now I am not. And also how long before I can take Celexa because I am still on Anafranil. I take 50mgs once a day in the night time.
Avatar n tn you should be fine, there are no apparent contraindications
