Does withdrawal from Celexa cause nausea & vomiting? I quit taking it cold turkey 5-6 days ago. While I realize this is not a good idea, it was not intentional. I called my pharmacy for a refill. They said I had no refills left and they would call my doctor for it. Unfortunately, this was over the weekend. Apparently, my doctor's office did not respond to the pharmacy's request.
t woken up with neck pain in the top of the back part of my neck. I also suffer from horrible anxiety. 8 days ago I started 20mg of celexa and two after I developed a constant tremor in arms, legs, jaw, and head. It isn't a violent tremor and it's barely noticeable. I went to the doctor and he cut my dosage in half but I stopped taking two days ago of this fear I developed over the tremors. My mind is going crazy with thoughts about serious diseases.
t have time to go to the bathroom, and it went all over the floor and any furniture in range. It was like projectile vomiting of undigested food. Primary dr. ordered tests, first with a scope that went to my stomach. Found an esophageal hernia. Then colonoscopy, just diverticulosis, then swallowed a camera to look at small intestine. which is normal.
So today my Celexa dose was upped from half a pill to 1 whole pill and the side effects are coming back like when I first started... Sweaty, can't sleep, headache, stiff neck, clenching teeth... Etc. I don't know what to do. I tried taking stuff for it, including an Oxy but still no change. What can I take to make these side effects not so bad? I don't see the dr till Thursday, so I can't ask her... If anyone has any suggestions?
Around the same time i started having severe dizziness and nausea, sometimes vomiting. Doctors keep saying its stress or anxiety, i am on xanax and ativan and it does not help. I have been on anti deppresants most of my life but over the last 8 months everything seems to give me reactions such as chest pain, vomiting shortness of breath.
A friend of mine stopped Paxil and then started on Celexa without waiting for the entire withdrawl time. She, too, suffered from the same symptoms that you have listed. There are many other SSRI's (and Paxil fits into this category as does Celexa) that could be used which might be of more help to you.
I started Celexa 3weeks ago do to severe anxiety and panic attacks. I have been feeling great the past couple of weeks but the last night I woke up in a major panic attack and this morning all the anxiety is back. I have only been taking 10 mg of Celexa. Do I need to go up to 20? This is just so frustrating!
I was on celexa 40mg for 4 years and it didn't work that much for me. I never felt normal like myself, and didnt enjoy doing thing. So i tappered of off that a week ago with guidance. I started Lamictal 12.5 mg today (11/6/13), have to go very slow on the increase dosage to avoid deadly rash. But i am feeling itchy all over my body and face and have light headache. But no rash yet. Did anyone took Lamictal for anxiety and depression? Did it work,and how soon did it started working?
CeleXa inhibits reuptake allowing more seratonin to be left in the synaptic gap causing the threshold for the nerves firing to be techniquelly less because less has to be delivered for the spark to occur since more is already there and available. I have smoked M. for 2 years and recently started CeleXa. The only thing ive noticed thus far is that I am less affected by the M. now that I am on CeleXa.
I am convinced that my Celexa is a major culprit in my weight gain. Before Celexa, I was on Zoloft, and the first week on Zoloft I lost weight, but then stabilized and slowly began to gain weight. the weight gain was not a big amount but it did happen.
Then a few yrs later, I began having problems on Zoloft so my Doc switched me to Celexa, and "whamo!", BIG WEIGHT GAIN! It was amazing!
On top of the weight gain, Celexa has made me lethargic and very tired.
Mom has been dealing with anxiety for several yrs now and has been taking Celexa and Ativan and everything was fine.She was doing all her routine stuff(shopping,cooking,...ect)
But for the past month...she sleeps all the time..no energy due to her not eating.She complains of burping which leads to gagging and then puking.So she does'nt eat.It's a vicious cycle! She eats Tums like it was candy and is constantly drinking Pepto.
At first, Celexa made me sleepy and relaxed. Believe me, this was a Good Thing! At last, I could sleep well!
I cannot say that the drug itself decreased my PVCs--however, it DID decrease my awareness of them.
Since their frequency was related to my anxiety and awareness of them (because of the effects of adrenaline), as I became less and less conscious of these sensations, the frequency of PVCs decreased dramatically.
Trust your doctor and give this a try.
I still ahve anxiety, my doctor gave me Celexa which is okay, my question is, is it okay to take Xanax and Celexa together? I used to take Xanax too for panic attacks, and for now I know it will make me feel better. Does anyone know if they can be taken together? I have never been hooked on Xanax at all, so that is not a problem.
t go back to him for three months. I would like to know how to tapper off the Celexa and with me getting off of that and with the help of my thyroid medication will I start to lose weight ( I have not lost ANYTHING since I started my thyroid medication and I am dieting and exercising!!). I go on vacation in two months I would love to lose at least 10pounds although, that isn't even close to what I need to lose.

When that did nothing for the insomnia and resulting panic, I went to a regular doctor the next day and he prescribed Celexa and Klonopin. I did sleep last night, thankfully.
My question now is, can I take one of these low dose Xanax today? I started the Celexa last night and took 1 mg Klonopin to sleep. I just want to feel normal again.
I HAVE BEEN ON CELEXA FOR APPROX. 4 1/2 MONTHS AND HAVE GAINED 30 LBS. I AM HORRIFIED AND SO IS MY DOCTOR. I WANT TO DC USE OF; HE WANTS ME TO COME IN AND HAVE A SIT DOWN TALK. HE SAYS THAT NOT ENOUGH STUDY HAS BEEN DONE. I ALSO HAVE BEEN ANNOYED WITH SHORT TERM MEMORY PROBLEMS AND FEELTHIS IS CAUSING IT. MY SISTER IS TWO YEARS OLDER THEN ME AND IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. ANY COMMENT?
