I am convinced that my Celexa is a major culprit in my weight gain. Before Celexa, I was on Zoloft, and the first week on Zoloft I lost weight, but then stabilized and slowly began to gain weight. the weight gain was not a big amount but it did happen.
Then a few yrs later, I began having problems on Zoloft so my Doc switched me to Celexa, and "whamo!", BIG WEIGHT GAIN! It was amazing!
On top of the weight gain, Celexa has made me lethargic and very tired.
ve tried several medications for anxiety and panic attacks, but have had major side effects from them all. Zoloft, Celexa, etc. My doctor recently prescribed Prozac for my anxiety and panic attacks. In reading about Prozac, it does list anxiety and panic, but they are down the list a ways. Does anyone know if Prozac is a good choice for this? I don't want to take them if they aren't going to do anything. I don't have OCD, which seems to be the main disorder Prozac is prescribed for.
and I decided it was time to get a good night sleep. Starting me immediately on Ativan and Celexa and weening me off of the Ativan in the first month stopped my night terrors in there place. And for the first time, my family and I noticed those little oddities of mine were gone! I was happy, carefree, and NOT TIRED! This was 5 years ago. Ive been at the same dose of Celexa for 4 years. If I forget to take it for a few days I am angry, aggitated, and yes... Have night terrors again.
After taking Celexa, I graduated to a new and better version called Lexapro. This was about 2 years ago. Recently, with my AFib issues, both my cardiologist and family doctor have taken issue with it. I'm unclear why and will ask them after I get my cardiovesion, but I think it is a "mood elevator" and with my heart thumping all the time anyway, the last thing I need is to take something that makes it go faster. I will have a more definitive answer for you soon.
My dr recently prescribed me Xanax and celexa for anxiety and depression but I was to scared to tell him about the pills I have been taking ... I have not started the celexa because I am scared it will interact with the Percocet and haven't taken Amy Xanax because i haven't needed it .. Is it safe to take the celexa while I am coming off the Percocet or should I wait?
Lack of Vitamin B12 is a good candidate to cause both neurological and physiological symptoms like anxiety, depression, panic attacks, and the symptoms much like those you described, so I always take my vitamins. And low and behold, vitamins ALONE got rid of my withdrawal symptoms from the SSRI's, which just made the symptoms that they made appear while I was taking them 10-fold.
I take 10 mg of Celexa and Vistaril for sleep. I think if I upped my dose of Celexa to 20 mg then it would probably work for the anxiety, but I'm trying to lose much needed weight. (I've lost 20 and have about 15 to go). I would obviously rather be happy and fat but I've been trying to lose this weight for about 7 years so I don't want to up my dose just yet.
I've been using rescue remedy spray and calms and they help a little.
ll be so much better off if you can get your energy back up through nutrition, vitamins, some exercise, and a little time for you. I know how impossible it seems when you have kids; I'm a single mom of four and finding time to take care of yourself seems impossible. But trust me, by putting yourself first and taking care of you, you are doing what's best for your kids. I promise you if you continue with the meth you'll regret it. You will miss so much of what your kids do.
CeleXa inhibits reuptake allowing more seratonin to be left in the synaptic gap causing the threshold for the nerves firing to be techniquelly less because less has to be delivered for the spark to occur since more is already there and available. I have smoked M. for 2 years and recently started CeleXa. The only thing ive noticed thus far is that I am less affected by the M. now that I am on CeleXa.
I have severe anxiety, and the dr. I'm currently seeing has put me on a few meds, such as Effexor, celexa and for one month gave me lorazepam.
He took me off the Lorazepam after a month, gave it back to me two months later, and look me off of it again.
I ended up in the Er, after using Celexa, and Effexor ( @ different times ) , b/c I ended up having worse panic/anxiety attacks.
Each time I was told from seperate Dr's, that these meds can only make it worse. .
At first, Celexa made me sleepy and relaxed. Believe me, this was a Good Thing! At last, I could sleep well!
I cannot say that the drug itself decreased my PVCs--however, it DID decrease my awareness of them.
Since their frequency was related to my anxiety and awareness of them (because of the effects of adrenaline), as I became less and less conscious of these sensations, the frequency of PVCs decreased dramatically.
Trust your doctor and give this a try.

I just found out I am 5 weeks. I was addicted and dependent on Vicodin for a year for two painful conditions that led me to eventually growing a high tolerance and dependent. I'm also on celexa and klonopin. My klonopin dose is low but I've been on the same dose for years. My husband and I had problems for over a year and a half to get pregnant so I am so happy but so fearful! I am currently tapering on the meds but feel anxious and hopeless.
I still ahve anxiety, my doctor gave me Celexa which is okay, my question is, is it okay to take Xanax and Celexa together? I used to take Xanax too for panic attacks, and for now I know it will make me feel better. Does anyone know if they can be taken together? I have never been hooked on Xanax at all, so that is not a problem.
t go back to him for three months. I would like to know how to tapper off the Celexa and with me getting off of that and with the help of my thyroid medication will I start to lose weight ( I have not lost ANYTHING since I started my thyroid medication and I am dieting and exercising!!). I go on vacation in two months I would love to lose at least 10pounds although, that isn't even close to what I need to lose.

When that did nothing for the insomnia and resulting panic, I went to a regular doctor the next day and he prescribed Celexa and Klonopin. I did sleep last night, thankfully.
My question now is, can I take one of these low dose Xanax today? I started the Celexa last night and took 1 mg Klonopin to sleep. I just want to feel normal again.
I HAVE BEEN ON CELEXA FOR APPROX. 4 1/2 MONTHS AND HAVE GAINED 30 LBS. I AM HORRIFIED AND SO IS MY DOCTOR. I WANT TO DC USE OF; HE WANTS ME TO COME IN AND HAVE A SIT DOWN TALK. HE SAYS THAT NOT ENOUGH STUDY HAS BEEN DONE. I ALSO HAVE BEEN ANNOYED WITH SHORT TERM MEMORY PROBLEMS AND FEELTHIS IS CAUSING IT. MY SISTER IS TWO YEARS OLDER THEN ME AND IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. ANY COMMENT?
