Celexa and relpax

Common Questions and Answers about Celexa and relpax

celexa

Avatar n tn Did they instruct you that if you take too many Relpax in a week that you can have migraine rebound? I too have Relpax and my script says no more than 2/day and 3/week because if I do it could cause migraine rebound.
Avatar f tn When I was having frequent migraines and my insurance would only pay for one refill of Maxalt each month, I obtained prescriptions for both Maxalt and Relpax and filled both each month. They worked equally well for me.
1088430 tn?1259159773 You might be able to fill both the Relpax and Sumatriptan prescription next month too and get both covered, since they are different medications... so, instead of only 6 covered doses of the Relpax, you might be able to get 6 covered doses of the Relpax + 6 covered doses of the Sumatriptan.
Avatar n tn I have the EXACT same thing. I've tried Imitrex tablets (no help since I threw them up), Imitrex Nasel Spray (once again, no help because I threw it up), Imitrex Injection (have you tried this? I couldn't keep taking because of an allergic reaction). Another good option is Relpax. It is a tablet BUT one of the benifits is that it helps with vomiting also. I did fine on this and I'm a huge vomiter (yuck, lack of a better word). Sure wish I had insurance still...
Avatar f tn m desperate and have no Relpax, I take Naprosyn and Sudafed, which work somewhat. But these headaches can last for up to four days. Pain meds like Lortab are a complete waste of time: like killing an elephant with a flyswatter. If it were a pinched nerve, you'd think a hard-core narcotic would work...but it doesn't. Thanks for your help! Prayers to my fellow headache sufferers...I know I'd rather have the flu than a migraine headache (or whatever these things are).
Avatar f tn What is the best way to treat migraine, when you've taken the medicine your Dr. has given you, but it's not working? I take Relpax 40 mg., sometime it helps and sometime it doesn't.
1508698 tn?1360215710 It also comes as a self-injection (spring loaded) for when you are more nauseated and cannot keep a tablet down. My insurance used to cover Relpax which I think is milder and dissolves under your tongue, helping to prevent nausea. I'm sure there are all kinds now since the original Imitrix patent wore out. With any of these non-narcotics, you do need to take it easy and rest so your migraine doesn't come back.
Avatar m tn CeleXa inhibits reuptake allowing more seratonin to be left in the synaptic gap causing the threshold for the nerves firing to be techniquelly less because less has to be delivered for the spark to occur since more is already there and available. I have smoked M. for 2 years and recently started CeleXa. The only thing ive noticed thus far is that I am less affected by the M. now that I am on CeleXa.
Avatar n tn I have a headache almost everyday of the week and a migraine 2-3 times per month. I only take the Relpax during my migraines and may take tylenol, ibuprofen, or excedrin for my headace without any relief. My MD had spoken with me about taking medicine daily to prevent the occurence of my migraines. I really do not want to take another daily med because I want to have a baby in the next couple of years. The Relpax gives me really bad "jet lag" the whole rest of the day after taking it.
5140021 tn?1364185966 I read a paper that Celexa helps vertigo. anyone experience this? I may have to get back on Celexa and not for Panic or Anxiety but for the vertigo that started 3 days ago.
Avatar f tn I had hormonal headaches both times and took Fioricet. It helped so much! I still take it as needed - pms. Without it, I never would have made it 9 months and my doc saw that. My kids are 10 and 7 and perfectly healthy. 'Healthy, happy mommy..healthy, happy babies"!
1302779 tn?1287405029 hello all i have been on 40mg celexa and .05 klonopin for a few months now. I feel that the ssri doesnt relly touch the anxiety ,and without the klonopin i would still be anxious! Does anyone get anxiety relief from there ssri alone? i know many people take 2 or more meds and I just wanted to know if im on the right track. any input would be great!
Avatar n tn It also helps lesson (not stop) some of my CM symptoms...pain, numbness, tingling, and stiffness in my legs, arms, neck and shoulders. I also use Relpax, as needed, for migraines (which has been on a daily basis for the past week..so much for the KeppraXR). Relpax is the only thing I have found in the past 8 years that works (it turns my migraines back into plain old headaches). I am still trying to pay my medical bills on my own...
Avatar f tn I am convinced that my Celexa is a major culprit in my weight gain. Before Celexa, I was on Zoloft, and the first week on Zoloft I lost weight, but then stabilized and slowly began to gain weight. the weight gain was not a big amount but it did happen. Then a few yrs later, I began having problems on Zoloft so my Doc switched me to Celexa, and "whamo!", BIG WEIGHT GAIN! It was amazing! On top of the weight gain, Celexa has made me lethargic and very tired.
Avatar m tn At first, Celexa made me sleepy and relaxed. Believe me, this was a Good Thing! At last, I could sleep well! I cannot say that the drug itself decreased my PVCs--however, it DID decrease my awareness of them. Since their frequency was related to my anxiety and awareness of them (because of the effects of adrenaline), as I became less and less conscious of these sensations, the frequency of PVCs decreased dramatically. Trust your doctor and give this a try.
1166402 tn?1303847056 I just started 20 mg of generic Celexa (3 days ago) and the doc also gave me Ambien and Klonopin (take .25mg) to relieve the anxiety until the Celexa kicks in. I wake up shaky/hot and kind of panicky. Which drug is this from drugs, or is it still the anxiety. I know this takes time, but I don't want to mess with any drugs that might be making the symptoms worse (i.e Klonopin or Ambien). I also don't want to become dependent on the Klonopin and ambien either.
Avatar f tn MY QUESTION IS, IS IT SAFE TO ADD CELEXA TO MY MEDICATIONS (40) MG CELEXA 1 TIME A DAY? I ASK THE CLINIC, PHARMACIST AND PCP AND ALL 3 SAID I SHOULD DO OK BUT I WAS LOOKING FOR MORE LIKE:DEFENATELY I CAN TAKE THESE 3 MEDS TOGETHER. ANYONE CAN TELL ME IF THIS IS DEFINATELY OK??
Avatar f tn I started 5 mg Celexa 5 days ago and the doctor gave me .5 mg Ativan for just in case. My question is how long until the Celexa starts working? If I use the Ativan too often will it effect how the Celexa works? How hard are these to come off of?
808293 tn?1238602183 I've been on celexa for about 8 weeks now.... I was having trouble getting to sleep at first and still needed some occasional xanax to help my mind stop racing....i then found myself getting to sleep fine but waking up much earlier than normal...now, I am getting to sleep pretty easily and staying asleep. I think you probably need to give the celexa another couple of weeks and see if you have improvement.
Avatar n tn I still ahve anxiety, my doctor gave me Celexa which is okay, my question is, is it okay to take Xanax and Celexa together? I used to take Xanax too for panic attacks, and for now I know it will make me feel better. Does anyone know if they can be taken together? I have never been hooked on Xanax at all, so that is not a problem.
Avatar n tn t go back to him for three months. I would like to know how to tapper off the Celexa and with me getting off of that and with the help of my thyroid medication will I start to lose weight ( I have not lost ANYTHING since I started my thyroid medication and I am dieting and exercising!!). I go on vacation in two months I would love to lose at least 10pounds although, that isn't even close to what I need to lose. 1. how do i tapper off celexa 20mg 2. what would be my side effects 3.
Avatar n tn When that did nothing for the insomnia and resulting panic, I went to a regular doctor the next day and he prescribed Celexa and Klonopin. I did sleep last night, thankfully. My question now is, can I take one of these low dose Xanax today? I started the Celexa last night and took 1 mg Klonopin to sleep. I just want to feel normal again.
6693906 tn?1388804285 He has decided to gradually up the Celexa again and ween me off the Ativan. this is 3 days later and i am home from school with dizziness and nausea. From what I read that is normal withdrawal, and i'm certain it will pass. However, my question is if the Celexa was bad to bring up the first time, will it necessarily have the same result months later? If anyone has any information on this medication please help me, i'm a little worried!
Avatar n tn I HAVE BEEN ON CELEXA FOR APPROX. 4 1/2 MONTHS AND HAVE GAINED 30 LBS. I AM HORRIFIED AND SO IS MY DOCTOR. I WANT TO DC USE OF; HE WANTS ME TO COME IN AND HAVE A SIT DOWN TALK. HE SAYS THAT NOT ENOUGH STUDY HAS BEEN DONE. I ALSO HAVE BEEN ANNOYED WITH SHORT TERM MEMORY PROBLEMS AND FEELTHIS IS CAUSING IT. MY SISTER IS TWO YEARS OLDER THEN ME AND IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. ANY COMMENT?
Avatar n tn 55am, I forgot I took the celexa and I took Cyclobenzaprine. Do you think is something I should be worry? I looked online about the drug interaction and they say could be deadly. I am very worry. Any advice of what I can do? Do I gonna be okay? How long apart I can take those two medications?
484508 tn?1290010544 The good news is that I believe the Celexa is helping the anxiety and depression. Been on it about 2 and a half weeks. Started at 5 mg, and worked up to 20 mg about 4 days ago. I notice that i am dizzy and lightheaded most of the day. I get some relief when i inline skate. Is the dizziness a symptom that will go away...also some insomnia. I don't want to stop taking this because I feel ok about the drug and the relief of depression and anxiety.
Avatar f tn I've taken three benzos, but not that one. But using benzos for sleep isn't the best idea, as they're so easy to become addicted to if you take them regularly, and insomnia tends to get worse with continued use of medication for sleep. I would especially try to wait it out as you're not anywhere near a therapeutic dose of the Celexa yet, and it might make you sedated when you move up. If the Celexa works you won't need the Ativan much.
763297 tn?1281379425 I have been on depression meds for 2 years and im TTC but I can't just quit them suddenly because of the terrible withdrawl I have experienced in the past. I could whean off but im on 20 mgs of Celexa and it might take a while. Should I stay on it if im pregnant? I don't know what to do. Any advice would be great!
