I have taken Celexa 20mg with Klonopin with excellent results. Normally your doctor wants to wait 4-6 weeks to see if the 20 mg does the job for you, and if not he will increase the dosage. This is how long it takes for the Celexa or any anti-depressant to reach therapeutic level. You will be able to wean off the Klonopin, once your anti-depressant starts working, but I continued on both, and still take the Klonopin with Citolopram.
I am taking celexa 20mg and abilify 10mg. I need both these medications because of my mental illness. I have been taking them for about 2 years and my illness is now almost totally stablized. I have no difficulties with symptoms of my illness. But I have side effects and the biggest one is that I can not achieve orgasm, or if I do it happens very rarely and takes too long for it to be worth it.

Please inform his neurologist and therapist regarding this. A different medication can be tried and dose of other medications adjusted. Take care!
Im seeing a new doc to get a different opinion and also scheduled a sex therapist appt. What medications other than Luvox or Celexa could I use for anxiety and ocd? I feel Luvox aint working neither was Celexa. My problem is I cant relax and Im always worrying. I have no compulsions except going on the internet and looking for answers and finding distressing news that I think apply to me. Im tired of this. I deserve to enjoy my life!
I am convinced that my Celexa is a major culprit in my weight gain. Before Celexa, I was on Zoloft, and the first week on Zoloft I lost weight, but then stabilized and slowly began to gain weight. the weight gain was not a big amount but it did happen.
Then a few yrs later, I began having problems on Zoloft so my Doc switched me to Celexa, and "whamo!", BIG WEIGHT GAIN! It was amazing!
On top of the weight gain, Celexa has made me lethargic and very tired.
Everyone is different. I have come off medications cold turkey with no problem. (Although never again. My pharmacist said you should wean off of ANY medication that you've been taking for awhile. To anyone that has been taking two medications and 9 months later starts to feel bad? Better go to the doctor and get a diagnosis. I've never heard of someone taking medications for that long that would "all of a sudden" make you sick.
My guess is he will eliminate the Valium eventually and increase her other meds. I am no doctor but this is my guess. It sounds like she has a p-doc that will attack her depression agressively and that is goodthing..get it out'a here! Is she also seeing a therapist?
Sometimes the p-docs will try several different meds to get the correct "cocktail". They will hit on just the correct med. Just thinking he may be prescribing low dose because of her age.
t want to redo the GI tests, and instead prescribed generic Klonopin, .5MG at morning, evening and 2 at night; 20mg generic Celexa 1c a day; and for any stomacyh efects, 300mg Zantac 1x a day and an over-the-couner probiotic supplement called "Align." I started these on Wednesday afternoon, and it's not Friday early afternoon.
so now here i am i have been excersizing very diligently for about a month and a half / + weight training every other day and i am stil stuck at 230 pounds... could this be from effects of Celexa?? i am a Endomorph body type, endomorphs gain and lose weight very easily, before i was on antidepressants i lost over 40 pounds in 4 months.
t work, I feel constant doom and irrational fear, have panic attacks, feel out of it and tired, and many other nasty depressive symptoms that are too numerous to mention.
Do I feel good about that trade off? You better believe I do. I will suffer almost ANY side effect not to feel my severe depression at full force. It's honestly the most horrific feeling in the world. So you see this trade off is not a deal breaker for me.
m a father of four kids and want to be in the lives and function normally! Will celexa 10mg be good for me and will it take away the anxiety and bad thoughts and help me live a happy and normal life. Again I'm very new to this stuff so please help me out. I've read tons of blogs and postings about this and some are scary and some are a breathe of fresh air. Please help!!!
