celebrex and kidney damage

t really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex. After they denied me 4 or 5 times, they finally approved it. So now I take 400mg of Celebrex a day and it's a lot more effective than any other NSAID i've been on.

I was on Diamox but could not tolerate it as it caused severe kidney PAIN. So, my PCP wants me to try Celebrex (3 days on, 3 days off). Anyone have any experience/knowledge of this med and, if so, how did you fare with it?

I was on other meds, Celebrex, Skelaxin and am off of all except Neurontin. I have tapered the Neurontin to 500mg/day. This question is related to side effects that may be due to Neurontin or maybe my migraines. When I was on a higher dose of Neurontin I was getting almost daily visual disturbances in both eyes that looked like what my migraine auras look like but those are in one eye and are followed by a headache.

It is hard on your stomach but also can cause kidney issues. In talking to a nephorologist (msp? -kidney Dr.) she said that they have wanted that disclosure put on such meds. Every drug has something bad about it but one definetly has to try a pick the lesser evil. Talk to a pharmacist & then talk to your Dr. Take care!

That pain gone nit left wiyh severe constant pain in middle of urethra, constant burning and strange discomfort just before head of penis. Pain in thhe middle of the urethra has hone after 2 months. Burning pain and discomfort not leaving me alone. I have seen GP , he says he has already given a series of antibiotics and he has nothing to offer. I gave seen urologist, my ultrasound, ct and cystoscopy done along with urine test, bloid test. All negative.

Once your inflammation dissipates and you stop taking Celebrex everything should return to normal, that is, if you didn't have high morning glucose levels previously. IMHO.

I don't think it should be an issue, I took Celebrex and Morphine for an extended time with no issue. Ask your doctor about any concerns though.

See if that makes it feel better longer. You should still see the doctor, though. That's just a sugestion on what to do in the mean time before you can get into the doctor. I really hope that you're able to get into the doctor soon and find out what's going on so that you can get the relief you need.

Yeah, I'm going through the exact same thing with hip bursitis -- told me to take 10-14 days off and take ibuprofen and it would be better. It's not. Not a bit. They just lie to us, man, or else they'd never get us out of the office.

My two daughters take Celebrex as a person would take Advil here or there and do fine with it .. they both cannot take ibuprofen. My son cannot take it since birth as he gets bad reflux from in .. They make custom made ibuprofen suppositories if you really need a NSAID but cannot do it by mouth and they are wonderful .. you need a compounding pharmacy but my co pay was only $8.00!

I have so many medical problems and a wife who just dont understand the pain i am going threw in my back and leg and she dont understand why i dont do anything at home because im disabled and have all this time on my hands but everytime i move my back and leg kills me but she just dont listen neither does my doctor so i dont no if i can keep going like this any ideas?

I have tried Certo and grape juice, tylenol arthritis, Celebrex, and the off brand of something similar. So far I have found that Celebrex works the best, especially when paired with physical exercise. Lifting light weights, doing push-ups on a wall, even just arm circles and stretching. The pain subsided a little but my arm pain was back. Wednesday I was in the sun all day and then Thursday all hell broke loose. My arm started to REALLY hurt.

If there is no infection than your dog has kidney damage or kidney failure, and you will have to treat agressively to save the kidneys by using Sub Q fluid therapy, phosphate binders if the phosphate is also elevated, kidney saving herbs such as Rehmannia 8 and more. Has anyone used Celebrex for their Crohn's? I have severe joint point pain and I have been told that Celebrex is a huge help for this. I am wondering about side effects and medicine interactions.

She is 64 but she also has osteoporosis and arthritis in her lower back. The back doctor just prescribed Celebrex, is this the safest drug for her? Also what should people with Hep C do to better care for their liver eventhough so far she seems to have a healthy liver. For the osteoporosis she is on Fosamax. She has been on it for several years. I am just afraid that too many potent drugs can be harmful for her liver.

Hey Hopey. I was just prescribed Celebrex too!! I'm very anxious to see how well it helps b/c i have constant back pain and have tried several meds that haven't given ANY relief. I started the Celebrex today, 600 mgs. And will take 400 mgs/day after today. The dr DID say it can take a few days to start feeling relief from it.
