celebrex and kidney

I was on Diamox but could not tolerate it as it caused severe kidney PAIN. So, my PCP wants me to try Celebrex (3 days on, 3 days off). Anyone have any experience/knowledge of this med and, if so, how did you fare with it?

My mother said that like 20 years ago she had a kidney infection and she was wondering if that could be it, but can a kidney infection induce swelling of one leg only? Please tell me anything you think it might be and what should i do?

ThAnks for resposding. I was one Celebrex I went into kidney failure.NOT from the célèbre rather a combination. But now my dotor doesn't Want me to add right now,. No one ever blamed I'm not saying it's bad for any one. Only me and the combonation. Thanks agAin.

It is hard on your stomach but also can cause kidney issues. In talking to a nephorologist (msp? -kidney Dr.) she said that they have wanted that disclosure put on such meds. Every drug has something bad about it but one definetly has to try a pick the lesser evil. Talk to a pharmacist & then talk to your Dr. Take care!

That pain gone nit left wiyh severe constant pain in middle of urethra, constant burning and strange discomfort just before head of penis. Pain in thhe middle of the urethra has hone after 2 months. Burning pain and discomfort not leaving me alone. I have seen GP , he says he has already given a series of antibiotics and he has nothing to offer. I gave seen urologist, my ultrasound, ct and cystoscopy done along with urine test, bloid test. All negative.

Once your inflammation dissipates and you stop taking Celebrex everything should return to normal, that is, if you didn't have high morning glucose levels previously. IMHO.

I don't think it should be an issue, I took Celebrex and Morphine for an extended time with no issue. Ask your doctor about any concerns though.

My two daughters take Celebrex as a person would take Advil here or there and do fine with it .. they both cannot take ibuprofen. My son cannot take it since birth as he gets bad reflux from in .. They make custom made ibuprofen suppositories if you really need a NSAID but cannot do it by mouth and they are wonderful .. you need a compounding pharmacy but my co pay was only $8.00!

I have so many medical problems and a wife who just dont understand the pain i am going threw in my back and leg and she dont understand why i dont do anything at home because im disabled and have all this time on my hands but everytime i move my back and leg kills me but she just dont listen neither does my doctor so i dont no if i can keep going like this any ideas?

I went to the doctor and he said to look out for the shingles rash again and put me on Celebrex. The Celebrex worked for a couple of days and then it got worse. Much much worse. My joints were feeling like they had Charlie Horses inside the bones. My left ankle, knee, hip, and wrist were really cramping. He told me to stop the Celebrex. The pain subsided a little but my arm pain was back. Wednesday I was in the sun all day and then Thursday all hell broke loose. My arm started to REALLY hurt.

I went to the doctor and he said to look out for the shingles rash again and put me on Celebrex. The Celebrex worked for a couple of days and then it got worse. Much much worse. My joints were feeling like they had Charlie Horses inside the bones. My left ankle, knee, hip, and wrist were really cramping. He told me to stop the Celebrex. The pain subsided a little but my arm pain was back. Wednesday I was in the sun all day and then Thursday all hell broke loose. My arm started to REALLY hurt.

Has anyone used Celebrex for their Crohn's? I have severe joint point pain and I have been told that Celebrex is a huge help for this. I am wondering about side effects and medicine interactions.

She is 64 but she also has osteoporosis and arthritis in her lower back. The back doctor just prescribed Celebrex, is this the safest drug for her? Also what should people with Hep C do to better care for their liver eventhough so far she seems to have a healthy liver. For the osteoporosis she is on Fosamax. She has been on it for several years. I am just afraid that too many potent drugs can be harmful for her liver.

my gi didnt even know the dose to celebrex so i doubt he knows if its good to my liver! im telling yall hes stupid and i need to find a new dr asap!

Hey Hopey. I was just prescribed Celebrex too!! I'm very anxious to see how well it helps b/c i have constant back pain and have tried several meds that haven't given ANY relief. I started the Celebrex today, 600 mgs. And will take 400 mgs/day after today. The dr DID say it can take a few days to start feeling relief from it.

I have been on methotrexate and celebrex for at least 15 years, probably long. I am currently in a tremendous amount of pain in my fingers, elbows, shoulders, left knee and left hip. Volteran gel has not helped at all and neither has Aleve. Can I take tramadol with these two drugs? I have recently switched my insurance and am waiting to get into a new rheumatologist.

Ive tried steroid injections(some relief for a little while) 800mg motrin, celebrex.660mg celebrex, norco,tramadol. Ive taken torodol,it works but i cant take it more than a couple of days.(you get the pic.) I have been going to my family DR. for 6 years. Hi so I have real bad body pain and health issues that cause it. I have found myself buying pain pills Percocet 5/325 and Vic 10s and take 1 sometimes 2 a day. And have been for a little over a month now. However my Dr is now giving me celebrex and it isn't working and I am scared that I am building up a tolerance to pills. Should I go a week and be miserable and then try the celebrex? My body hurts so bad I can't even move some days and I have 5 kids with the youngest being 2 yrs old.

t really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex. After they denied me 4 or 5 times, they finally approved it. So now I take 400mg of Celebrex a day and it's a lot more effective than any other NSAID i've been on.

Also... I have Sciatic symptoms due to lumbar disc issues. The area becomes inflamed, puts pressure on the nerve, then I start walking around in pain / like an old man. The docs eventually put me on NSAIDs (Celebrex and then Meloxicam) and I praise their name every single day since.

While having an MRI for her back and leg pain , they noticed a mass on the kidney which required a CT scan. They did a blood test and the following results i am concerned about: ESR 73 mm/hr, Creatinine 1.5 mg/dL, and Est. GFR 35 CBC test was very good except the Hematocrit is 36%. They said that we cannot do the CT scan due to the high level of Creatinine and now we are waiting for an appointment with the Kidney specialist.

I changed my Urologist, he did an ultrasound and DRE and bladder,kidney and prostate are in good shape with no inflammation or abnormalities. He gave me the following medicines for 2 weeks, (in week 2 now) -Zithromycin: 1g followed on day one by 0.5g on day two -Ciprofloxycin 250mg twice a day for 15 days -Urogesic & Genurin 200mg 3 times a day -I am also continuing Tamsulosin 0.4mg once in night.

Does anyone take celebrex?I started Prozak last week and they want me to take celebrex too. They say my liver can take it, (stage 2 fibrosis). But I am afraid of the NSAIDs in celebrex, any one else taking it? Oh, I am on Methadone too. I am having my first liver biopsy in the morning, so I will find out more about my liver. Jim my brother uses Celebrex and he has a lot of success with it. I myself took Vioxx for 4 year for fibromyalgia and had tremendous success until it was taken off the market. I can't take Celebrex because I think it has sulfa in it and I am allergic. It has been known to have serious side affects however again some people do very well on it. I wish I could try it. What is RZ Rhizotomy? I've had 7 back and cervical surgeries so I am well aware of what that pain is like.

No, it would be unheard of for Celebrex to damage your heart valve. Celebrex and similar drugs do cause high blood pressure in many individuals, though. You might have gone forever and not known about the heart valve if you had not gotten high blood pressure from the Celebrex. Follow whatever advice the cardiologist gave you, and don't worry.
