Avatar n tn i have fibromialgia and arthritis and bone spurs in my neck and shingles should i be taking all this and will the tierdness ever go away?
Avatar n tn She is 64 but she also has osteoporosis and arthritis in her lower back. The back doctor just prescribed Celebrex, is this the safest drug for her? Also what should people with Hep C do to better care for their liver eventhough so far she seems to have a healthy liver. For the osteoporosis she is on Fosamax. She has been on it for several years. I am just afraid that too many potent drugs can be harmful for her liver.
Avatar n tn I have osteoporosis of the right hip and osteopenia of the left hip. I have peripheral neuropathy (familial), and two bad knees.
Avatar m tn I started taking Celebrex two months ago and have gained 18 lbs since. I am wondering if anyone has gained weight on Celebrex? I have a sprained lumbar, lumbago syndrome with back spasms. I can't take narcotic pain meds. Any alternative to Celebrex? Naproxen does nothing for my pain.
Avatar m tn Acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) and other NSAIDs are drugs that are widely used for their anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. They also have the potential to cause drug-induced liver disease. In fact, many NSAIDs have been withdrawn from the market due to their hepatotoxicity. All NSAIDs have the potential to cause liver injury. However, some NSAIDs are more hepatotoxic than others.
Avatar m tn I can't help but notice that you seem to be suffering from arthritis after your hep-c treatment I'm also a post hep-c treatment survivor who sucessfully ?cleared virus but now have developed arthritis symptoms. My rheumatologist has mentioned my hep-c in connection with my arthrits and I'm seeking more info. Co incidentally he took me off aspirin put me on celebrex pending more results from more tests .Have you explored connection of arthritis and hep-c post treatment?
370181 tn?1595629445 t anymore. NSAID and DMARDS and cortisone injections and prednisone and metho injections and Remicade and Enbrel and Humira...........I've probably left something out, but you get the picture. The Enbrel worked quite well, but after 2 years I began getting some weird lab reports and while it was never conslusively connected to the Enbrel, I became wary of the biologics because I felt they just really didn't know enough about the long term effects, so I told my rheumo I was done.
Avatar f tn thank you I am using Celebrex now but have to be careful. I cant use aspirin. I got anemic the doc took me off of it. I got back on it but just use it when my jaw flairs up or my hands get to hurting really bad. nearly everything you take has aspirin in it. well I just live from day to day. thank you for writing.
Avatar f tn ) The headache starts just before my menstral cycle and lasts 5 - 7 days. I live on aspirin, neurofen, maxalt - these just relieve the symptoms and within 3 - 4 hrs the pain returns. I am blinded by the pain as it moves from left temple to right temple and then by the 3rd day, almost feels as though my eye balls want to explode, causing them to water constantly. I feel nauseous in my stomach and often feel as though there is ice water running over the top of my head or deep into my forehead.
Avatar n tn Once your inflammation dissipates and you stop taking Celebrex everything should return to normal, that is, if you didn't have high morning glucose levels previously. IMHO.
Avatar f tn Thanks, I have neck pain, stiffness and radiating pain to my arms, R- especially. HA’s and muscle dystopia in my neck. Celebrex and aspirin. Not together.
Avatar m tn I don't think it should be an issue, I took Celebrex and Morphine for an extended time with no issue. Ask your doctor about any concerns though.
203342 tn?1328737207 Also since aspirin and motrin cause GI irritation and you have already have Crohn’s ,so it is best to avoid these medicines. You can however take acetaminophen or Tylenol. It is used to relieve pain and reduce fever. Acetaminophen is generally less irritating to the stomach than other OTC pain relievers. You can also take tramadol(ultram) ,but pls inform your doctor before taking them. Hope it helps .Take care and pls do keep us posted in case you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
Avatar n tn My two daughters take Celebrex as a person would take Advil here or there and do fine with it .. they both cannot take ibuprofen. My son cannot take it since birth as he gets bad reflux from in .. They make custom made ibuprofen suppositories if you really need a NSAID but cannot do it by mouth and they are wonderful .. you need a compounding pharmacy but my co pay was only $8.00!
195469 tn?1388322888 They used to make it in 200mg caps but stopped, so now it comes in 50mg, just take 4 a day. I work for doctors and they are split on the use of Celebrex, personally I stick with the ketoprofen. If the inflammation can be alleviated the pain usually is too so you dont need the pain meds. Of course all of this is based on my own experience so take from it what you will. I hope you get some answers and some relief soon. See you on the MS forum!
Avatar f tn i have been on lyrica for 1 year 200mg 3 times per day i also take amitriptyline 25 mg 2 at night i take 200 mg of celebrex a day and solpadeine 3-4 times per day i was recently perscribed durogesic patches every 3 dats but am still i a lot of pain recent spinal block failed.
Avatar m tn Has anyone used Celebrex for their Crohn's? I have severe joint point pain and I have been told that Celebrex is a huge help for this. I am wondering about side effects and medicine interactions.
548642 tn?1266179652 my gi didnt even know the dose to celebrex so i doubt he knows if its good to my liver! im telling yall hes stupid and i need to find a new dr asap!
Avatar f tn Hey Hopey. I was just prescribed Celebrex too!! I'm very anxious to see how well it helps b/c i have constant back pain and have tried several meds that haven't given ANY relief. I started the Celebrex today, 600 mgs. And will take 400 mgs/day after today. The dr DID say it can take a few days to start feeling relief from it.
Avatar m tn I have been on methotrexate and celebrex for at least 15 years, probably long. I am currently in a tremendous amount of pain in my fingers, elbows, shoulders, left knee and left hip. Volteran gel has not helped at all and neither has Aleve. Can I take tramadol with these two drugs? I have recently switched my insurance and am waiting to get into a new rheumatologist.
Avatar f tn t really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex. After they denied me 4 or 5 times, they finally approved it. So now I take 400mg of Celebrex a day and it's a lot more effective than any other NSAID i've been on.
Avatar f tn I am allergic to all drugs in the morphiene family and need to be able to take something stronger than aspirin or tylenol. Tramadol and Ultram have very little if any effect and I have been told my the family doctor that Ibuprofen, Aleve and Celebrex are now unhealthy for my eye condition. Any suggestions as to what can be taken for pain that won't interfere with the current eye treatments?
Avatar n tn ) I am still lethargic and achy after one week free and clear of hydrocodone and tramadol. One issue in particular is my hands ache and throb so badly (i take celebrex for arthritis) that just the mere act of typing on my computer is very painful. Please know how grateful I am for not only responses to my questions, but to all of you who are brave enough to spill your painful addiction stories to us so that we don't feel so alone with this.
Avatar m tn It does this without producing the stomach discomfort often experienced with aspirin and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs). This characteristic has made acetaminophen a very popular alternative to NSAIDs. In small doses (less than 4 grams per day, or eight pills taken over a twenty-four hour period of time) acetaminophen is quite safe for the liver—unless combined with alcoholic beverages (see below).
Avatar n tn So my question is, was the original assumption about anti inflammatory drugs a result of confusing correlation with causation ie we give someone a anti inflammatory and they have a bleed and we assume it is the anti inflammatory that caused it but the reality is the bleed was already getting ready to happen and by the time we offered the anti inflammatory it was too late and the endothelial layer wasnt/isnt going to respond anyway.
Avatar n tn Is there any medcation as mentioned above can cause this as side effect? Any other suggestion? Please reply.
784830 tn?1237342275 For approximately the last year or so I have been feeling a very peculiar heart rhythm that comes and goes throughout the day. It occurs at least once but usually multiple times. Feels like my heart pauses momentarily and then beats very hard for several beats. The rate does not increase just gets VERY strong. I had an EKG done about 1 year ago and was told I have a Right Posterior Fascicular Block. Has anyone experienced this?
