Celebrex and aspirin interaction

Common Questions and Answers about Celebrex and aspirin interaction

celebrex

Avatar m tn I don't think it should be an issue, I took Celebrex and Morphine for an extended time with no issue. Ask your doctor about any concerns though.
Avatar f tn Well it depends on why you take aspirin and how often and what dosage. It's just a warning that can be overlooked. But if you take aspirin everyday at considerable dose well then you have more concerns but you should not worry about taking aspirin to relievve headache, pain or fever. See, the interaction is something we call a synergistic effects with aspirin antiplatelet effects augmented by inhibition of platelet serotonin uptake. Anyway caution advised.
Avatar n tn However, your other doctors are right too. There is no drug interaction between them, and so even if you become pregnant, there is not going to be any additional harm due to drug interaction. The safety profile of Cymbalta is not known for the unborn baby, hence it needs be taken with precaution in pregnancy. On the other hand Celebrex should be avoided during the last 3 months of pregnancy. Take care!
Avatar m tn Acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) and other NSAIDs are drugs that are widely used for their anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. They also have the potential to cause drug-induced liver disease. In fact, many NSAIDs have been withdrawn from the market due to their hepatotoxicity. All NSAIDs have the potential to cause liver injury. However, some NSAIDs are more hepatotoxic than others.
Avatar n tn i have fibromialgia and arthritis and bone spurs in my neck and shingles should i be taking all this and will the tierdness ever go away?
Avatar n tn She is 64 but she also has osteoporosis and arthritis in her lower back. The back doctor just prescribed Celebrex, is this the safest drug for her? Also what should people with Hep C do to better care for their liver eventhough so far she seems to have a healthy liver. For the osteoporosis she is on Fosamax. She has been on it for several years. I am just afraid that too many potent drugs can be harmful for her liver.
Avatar f tn ) too often, maybe every couple months (coincidently) and wanted to know is it possible them times I thought maybe I missed a dose or 2 and got the pain, could it have been I took a bunch of aspirin like this time and got the pain. I dont miss more then 1 dose barely ever but the reason I thought it could have been that was because I couldnt think of any other reason. I get a couple really bad periods a year and that would fit with the timeline more then missing doses.
Avatar n tn I have osteoporosis of the right hip and osteopenia of the left hip. I have peripheral neuropathy (familial), and two bad knees.
Avatar m tn I started taking Celebrex two months ago and have gained 18 lbs since. I am wondering if anyone has gained weight on Celebrex? I have a sprained lumbar, lumbago syndrome with back spasms. I can't take narcotic pain meds. Any alternative to Celebrex? Naproxen does nothing for my pain.
Avatar m tn GENERALLY AVOID! Salicylates may interfere with the renal elimination of methotrexate and may displace it from binding sites. The pharmacologic effect and toxicity of methotrexate may be increased. Patients receiving high-dose methotrexate are at a greater risk of developing toxicity. It is possible that the increased toxicity from this interaction, is responsible for your elevated GGT and ALT levels.
1210142 tn?1266077031 Taking Diltiazem, Lisinopril, Aspirin and Ranitidine as well. Have been having constant stomach and chest pains and the doctors are not able to find the cause- at least they don’t think it is a cardiac one./the chest pains/ My gastroenterologist suggested I stop taking Ranitidine and switch to Pantroprazole. I have read a lot about the interaction between Plavix and PPI’s but he thinks only Omeprazole have more effect on Plavix, not Pantoprazole.
Avatar m tn I can't help but notice that you seem to be suffering from arthritis after your hep-c treatment I'm also a post hep-c treatment survivor who sucessfully ?cleared virus but now have developed arthritis symptoms. My rheumatologist has mentioned my hep-c in connection with my arthrits and I'm seeking more info. Co incidentally he took me off aspirin put me on celebrex pending more results from more tests .Have you explored connection of arthritis and hep-c post treatment?
370181 tn?1595629445 t anymore. NSAID and DMARDS and cortisone injections and prednisone and metho injections and Remicade and Enbrel and Humira...........I've probably left something out, but you get the picture. The Enbrel worked quite well, but after 2 years I began getting some weird lab reports and while it was never conslusively connected to the Enbrel, I became wary of the biologics because I felt they just really didn't know enough about the long term effects, so I told my rheumo I was done.
552012 tn?1272855991 I am 45, female, lifelong nonsmoker facing 2nd thoracic surgery. First had the Ross in 1997, now developed thoracic ascending aneurysm and the allograft is "shredded." I hear some people say its little more than a pain in the butt and I hear others say they cant get regulated, etc. Can you point me to a website or can you tell me what meds I cannot take with coumadin? Second, I read about the Bjork-Shiley valves that were involved in class action suit.
Avatar f tn thank you I am using Celebrex now but have to be careful. I cant use aspirin. I got anemic the doc took me off of it. I got back on it but just use it when my jaw flairs up or my hands get to hurting really bad. nearly everything you take has aspirin in it. well I just live from day to day. thank you for writing.
Avatar f tn ) The headache starts just before my menstral cycle and lasts 5 - 7 days. I live on aspirin, neurofen, maxalt - these just relieve the symptoms and within 3 - 4 hrs the pain returns. I am blinded by the pain as it moves from left temple to right temple and then by the 3rd day, almost feels as though my eye balls want to explode, causing them to water constantly. I feel nauseous in my stomach and often feel as though there is ice water running over the top of my head or deep into my forehead.
Avatar m tn At the clinic, they warned me that isoniazid is processed mainly by the liver and that drinking alcohol could cause liver damage in combination and should be avoided. I have no problem not drinking, but I take norco on a regular basis for chronic pain and I'm concerned that the acetaminophen in the norco's will combine with the isoniazid and cause severe liver damage. Thus, as of yet I havent begun taking the antibiotics.
Avatar m tn ve already had a heart attack or stroke, or if you have been found by your doctor to be at high or moderate risk for heart attack or stroke, the benefits of taking aspirin can trump the risks. That’s because aspirin acts as an anti-inflammatory and an inhibitor of blood clotting. For those at risk, aspirin is one of the drugs in our arsenal (along with statins, ACE inhibitors, and beta blockers) that can help keep a coronary event from occurring in the first place or recurring.
Avatar m tn I have never read anything that say the two can't be used at the same time. I just checked again, nothing shown as an interaction. I am not a doctor, only going by what I've read so you may want to ask your doctor to be safe.
976897 tn?1379167602 Data clearly shows taking aspirin/plavix along with acid reflux medication is causing a higher death rate. The cause is unknown as yet. So, I would advise anyone due for angioplasty to discuss with their gp stopping any acid reflux meds currently being taken.
Avatar n tn Once your inflammation dissipates and you stop taking Celebrex everything should return to normal, that is, if you didn't have high morning glucose levels previously. IMHO.
Avatar f tn In chronic liver disease where the body’s production of clotting factors is naturally decreased, aspirin can increase the risk of bleeding. Although there is no actual drug interaction between aspirin and the drugs used in interferon therapy, both can disrupt blood clotting, which must be monitored if used together. When taken in high doses (more than 2,000 mg per day) aspirin can cause liver injury.
Avatar m tn Hi, I was on Lexapro 10mg for about 3 weeks and my doctor up my dose to 20mg. The last 2 days, I've had a headache off and on. I had a headache off and on for the first week when I took the 10mg and then it went away. I know headache is a common side effect but was wondering what I could take for it? I read that ibuprofen and asprin can cause interactions. Are the interactions for people that take a lot or what? Thanks for the help.
Avatar n tn No added interaction. Make sure to bring full list of all medications your husband is on to each doctor's appointment as he may see more than one prescriber and make sure to show that list to them each time they consider prescribing new medications. Jennifer R RPH www.drugstore.
Avatar m tn I have no understanding of you 5.6 and 2.8 numbers, but I also have no notion that there is any interaction with aspirin or not.
Avatar n tn My husband is diabetic (insulin) and he takes a blood thinner and a 325mg aspirin everyday, with no adverse affects on his blood sugar levels. I'm curious as to why she is on Plavix at such a young age?
