Avatar n tn I can’t comment on celebrex, but acetaminophen remains the most widely recommended analgesic for Hep C patients. Avatar n tn Random joint pain, including in the jaw, can be caused by Lyme Disease. Have you seen a doctor yet? Only about half of patients recall a tick or a rash.
Avatar f tn As with any NSAID, certain individuals do not react well to these drugs and with Rimadyl, there were enough problems reported after its introduction that a few years ago the FDA made Pfizer, the company who makes it, re-label their product to include an advisory that this drug could cause death. In certain dogs, the drug causes stumbling, weakness, loss of balance, seizures, vomiting (including vomiting of blood), tarry stools and full paralysis.

Avatar m tn 2 times and less than 3 times the upper limit of normal) of liver associated enzymes was 6% for CELEBREX and 5% for placebo, and approximately 0.2% of patients taking CELEBREX and 0.3% of patients taking placebo had notable elevations of ALT and AST. A patient with symptoms and/or signs suggesting liver dysfunction, or in whom an abnormal liver test has occurred, should be monitored carefully for evidence of the development of a more severe hepatic reaction while on therapy with CELEBREX.
Avatar m tn You are correct. I have had patients on Celebrex and NSAID develop fluctuating vision. However, it is best to be safe and get you macular checked with an OCT. There many cause of loss of central vision. Dr. O.
Avatar m tn t believe a pharm firm would but profits ahead of patients. So i made a blog and I am going to the New York Times with the story too, because Pfizer should not treat patients this way. Am I right or am I wrong? Please tell me before I have another heart attack! SMILE the advert appeared in Atlantic Monthly magazine, huge two page color ad, that is expensive, that's alot of money to tell people DO NOT BREAK THE TABLETS.
1462810 tn?1327360449 Wow! If this is the case, then it has been in the vitamins for years. They were fine for years, then the change... listless, little or no running, disinterested in things that normally were their lifeblood (like toys, and cuddling, we had a regular schedule!) :) Also, I just noticed that Gidget is snoring again. She hasn't done that in years but it used to be routine (and funny). It was clear that all three dogs were not themselves.
Avatar n tn For example, if you have Medicare and your income/2 is below $29,140, Pfizer will provide the medication for free. The trick is you have to submit a hardship form along w/application. Call them at (800) 707-8990 and tell them you have Medicare and they will send the form with the application. You don't have to be in the coverage gap. Also call if you don't have insurance. Xalatan is similar to Travatan or Lumigan--these are used 1st line often these days.

Avatar dr m tn Before diving into another invasive procedure, I visited a pain management doctor. ONE of the many things we did was try Celebrex. Now I was very skeptical as it had done nothing prior to surgery. But once my spondy was fixed I though - let's try it again. I have to happily report that this NSAID really did work. So much so I was able to lay off the Vicodin and/or Norco as a supplement to "stay ahead of the pain".
Avatar m tn Hi about a year ago a had an injury at work that caused 2 herniated disks. I did the physical therapy for a while than realized I can do most of the pt stuff at home or at the gym. Avatar n tn I suspect it was the hydrodistention, not the celebrex that caused the improvement. Unfortunately, for most patients the symptoms usually return within 6 months, with a few lucky patients sumptom free for up to a year. I would still be careful with your diet, avoiding caffeine, acidic fruits and other bladder irritants.
Avatar f tn Hundreds of reports of suicides, psychotic reactions and other serious problems tied to the popular stop-smoking drug Chantix were left out of a crucial government safety review because Pfizer Inc., the drug’s manufacturer, submitted years of data through “improper channels.” Some 150 suicides — more than doubling those previously known — were among 589 delayed reports of severe issues turned up in a new analysis by the non-profit Institute for Safe Medication Practices.

370181 tn?1595629445 So, your rheumo wants you to try Celebrex. I would caution you against taking Celebrex. My mom who is also suffering from chronic pain due to a back injury she sustained from a bad fall eight years ago, was also prescribed Celebrex by a surgeon who is an expert in pain management. Well, my mom was on the Celebrex for only two days. She felt very ill on the Celebrex and went off the Celebrex by herself as it was making her symptoms worse.
