Avatar f tn Thank you Dr. Tinkelman for your response!! Unfortunately, it came after my discussion with my Pulmonologist. I did ask him the difference between the two different types of CT Scans coming up with different results and does the HRCT discount the other 2 CT Scans w/o contrast and his repsonse was "Yes, it does and that my lungs are clear and show no sign of ILD" nor scarring, nor did they see the nodule.

Recently, we have been made aware that he has grappled with certain physical and emotional ailments privately for a long period of time," Watkins wrote. "We ask that you keep Congressman Jackson and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult period." Jackson, 47, has been on leave since June 10.

Avatar n tn If there is a five year age difference, and/or the younger child is incapacitated in any way (by force, coercion, or physical/mental limitations), it's almost certainly illegal. Child Protective Services might also accept the case if the parents have knowledge and haven't acted to protect the younger one and get help for both. In some jurisdictions, the police will turn cases away if there is no complaintant (i.e.
Avatar m tn Hi-- My dad, who turns 85 next month, had heart surgery (aortic valve replacement, bypass, and aneurysm repair) 2 years ago. I can't recall the exact statistics the doctors gave, but I know the chances for successfully surviving the surgery without debilitation (like pneumonia, surgical site infection, stroke, etc.) were about at least 80%, and that was taking into consideration his other medical conditions like diabetes which wasn't that well controlled.
712964 tn?1287076618 If indeed you are going blind, you should get ahold of all state agencies to start gathering information about rehabilitation services that may be available to you. Also, check into social security disability. Take care, and God BLess.
Avatar m tn He was moved from ICU to a acute rehab ,which put him out because he could not participate in the physical part. He was able to come off the vent in three days of being in rehab. He has a feeding tube and trach. Since coming home he is doing better. Hospitals will tell you to give up and place your loved one out of site and mind. Let what ever comes next for your dad be your decision. My husband is making progress everyday. The lord has the last say.
82861 tn?1333453911 Are there any plans in the works for a physical therapy forum? As a veteran of numerous orthopedic surgeries and rehab, I would love to see some kind of expert or even patient-to-patient forum on rehab issues. Surgery is only one step in recovering from an orthopedic injury. The rest of the "cure" is up to the patient's willingness to endure the pain of rehab which is often overlooked by the surgeons themselves.
Avatar n tn You could ask a neurologist about a referral for physical rehabilitation. Sometimes such as after a stroke the area of the brain affected can regain partial functioning or other areas of the brain compensate for it. Also in a standard physical sense a person can help stabilize and strengthen functioning with balance and coordination. A physician and rehabilitation specialist would be able to inform you of the clinical specifics of this.
Avatar f tn I've heard the same thing about Suboxone. There is no getting around the WD if you want to be clean. If I could have gone to rehab, I would in a minute. In my state there is little funding for mental health services and they've closed the only rehab where you don't have to pay; no detox service either. I know you want your fiance to be involved, but I think you have to focus on you. He can't save you; only you can save you.
Avatar f tn But depositions and other documents in a little-noticed lawsuit in North Carolina offer an exceptionally detailed picture of Republicans' tactics. Documents show that national Republican operatives, funded by dark money groups, drew the crucial lines which packed as many Democrats as possible into three congressional districts. The result: the state's congressional delegation flipped from 7-6 Democratic to 9-4 in favor of Republicans.
Avatar n tn I have been addicted to pain killers for 6+ years. I've decided that enough is enough & I can't continue to live like this anymore. I am 3 days clean & currently going through withdrawls. I can not afford rehab, or have anyone to care for my children if I could afford to go. I don't know if wanting to quit & change my life is enough for me to kick this. My husband knows about my addiction, I went to him for help. He doesn't understand why I can't just stop.
Avatar f tn need to go and plug into rehab services just cant do it just yet.

559187 tn?1330782856 There has GOT to be a mistake!!!! I'll try not to get too emotional as I state this question to you all, but its hard. My doctor signed off on my request for paratransit services while I was still in the hospital. He asked that I be granted at least 6 months of service while we figure out what is wrong with me and how I will respond to PT. First of all I must tell you guys that I am legally blind and have never been able to drive, so I depend entirely on my feet to get me around.
Avatar f tn Well I leave Thursdays to do an inpatient detox and rehab. After several surgeries I became dependent on oxycodone 15mg 5xday. When I first realized I was addicted I tried to ct and ended up passing out due to my Bp dropping. Then I decided to taper but my dr stopped that as well because they said I needed to have a 3rd back surgery even tho my last one was in April. I'm not walking correctly, kinda hunched over.
Avatar m tn There exist in every state a child protective services organization and an adult protective services, but the first step should be the police station. Bear in mind that addiction per se does not necessarily mean a person will be a bad parent, and a judgement should not be made on that basis. The issue of genuine danger or threat to human life is a horse of another color. I am very concerned over the statement "tried to kill us".

Avatar m tn t go as planned. Our insurance only gives 60 calendar days of physical therapy for each medical diagnosis. So the PT runs out as of Sunday. Craig had a physiatrist appt today and asked the doctor if he could put down a different diagnosis so the therapy could be paid for. Well, doc says no. He is standing by his diagnosis of spasticity and parapesis. Craig said he didn't need that diagnosis changed.
1823499 tn?1370090289 I just need to give pt a chance. I will try anything if it helps me to be able to go back to work. I just feel some of the issues i have wont be resolved fron pt. I just dont want to work with a pt who has me doin anything that may hurt me more. Is that possible?!
