My dad, who turns 85 next month, had heart surgery (aortic valve replacement, bypass, and aneurysm repair) 2 years ago. I can't recall the exact statistics the doctors gave, but I know the chances for successfully surviving the surgery without debilitation (like pneumonia, surgical site infection, stroke, etc.) were about at least 80%, and that was taking into consideration his other medical conditions like diabetes which wasn't that well controlled.
He was moved from ICU to a acute rehab ,which put him out because he could not participate in the physical part. He was able to come off the vent in three days of being in rehab. I have been addicted to pain killers for 6+ years. I've decided that enough is enough & I can't continue to live like this anymore. I am 3 days clean & currently going through withdrawls. Well I leave Thursdays to do an inpatient detox and rehab. After several surgeries I became dependent on oxycodone 15mg 5xday. When I first realized I was addicted I tried to ct and ended up passing out due to my Bp dropping. Then I decided to taper but my dr stopped that as well because they said I needed to have a 3rd back surgery even tho my last one was in April. I'm not walking correctly, kinda hunched over.

t go as planned. Our insurance only gives 60 calendar days of physical therapy for each medical diagnosis. So the PT runs out as of Sunday. Craig had a physiatrist appt today and asked the doctor if he could put down a different diagnosis so the therapy could be paid for. Well, doc says no. He is standing by his diagnosis of spasticity and parapesis.
Craig said he didn't need that diagnosis changed.
