Does anyone know of a good (effective) detox/rehab facility in Tampa Bay/St. Pete area? Son prefers non-residential but has rather large addiction to roxicodone /oxycontin. This is all so confusing and depressing. . seems so many people are trying to make big bucks at desperate people's expense (and I don't mean just dealers!) No one is really giving me much hope of permanent freedom from this drug for him, either.
I have been to court so many times with my ex when I went to rehab my ex took my kids with the agreement they would return home after ( Rehab was my choice not court order). Surpise he filed for custody. My whole xanax issue started in 2003 when I went thru a very ugly custody battle with him 40,000 later rehab ect I am fighting him again. My daughters want to come home they are 14 an 16 have a lawyer. The courts have order a drug an acohol evaluation I cant find a place to do it.....
If you do, I would go to the local hospital ER, many of them have programs to get you in good rehabs....I lived in NJ for most of my life and from what I heard there are a few good ones in pa and nj in that general area...but the hospital alot of times have detox there where they usually give you sub for 3 to 5 days and then try to get you into a rehab....or maybe they could get you into a detox right away....but it helps alot when you have med ins.
Before I post, please do not provide infor as to what can happen "after" the baby is born. I only want information to what is happening "now".
First and foremost, I do not do any drugs. Not even marijuana. However, I went to 2 friend's x-mas party after the "family" party not knowing there would be smoking pot. I was there from 11pm until 5am due to holiday celebration. I would occassionaly go outside for fresh air.
is there any arrests involved ? i am not sure about the laws in georgia but in nj i sent my son to rehab when he was 17 and he had to stay it was a part of his sentence. when he went before the judge for his drug possession i asked that he be released to a drug rehab and he was. thank god he stayed for the 3 months and never used cocaine again. he hated me when i sent him but now at 24 he thanks me and says i saved his life by sending him there.

I have been addicted to pain killers for 6+ years. I've decided that enough is enough & I can't continue to live like this anymore. I am 3 days clean & currently going through withdrawls. I can not afford rehab, or have anyone to care for my children if I could afford to go. I don't know if wanting to quit & change my life is enough for me to kick this. My husband knows about my addiction, I went to him for help. He doesn't understand why I can't just stop.
what will rehab do for me? im in the process of calling the ins co to see where i can go. will they give me something to stop this crazy jittery feeling? will i be not so anxious to the point of not coping? i am comin g out of my skin. i cant take it. will rehab help? or will i be in a strange room with strange people going thru the same exact thing?
i cant do this alone i just cant... i need help im just not sure what i need.... i am willing and able to go for inpatient treatment.
Well I leave Thursdays to do an inpatient detox and rehab. After several surgeries I became dependent on oxycodone 15mg 5xday. When I first realized I was addicted I tried to ct and ended up passing out due to my Bp dropping. Then I decided to taper but my dr stopped that as well because they said I needed to have a 3rd back surgery even tho my last one was in April. I'm not walking correctly, kinda hunched over.
iam aware pot is a addiction but more mental than physical. im for medical pot and believe it helps alot of people who need it.. i just have never seen anyone in rehab for it.. i may be nieve, no i know im nieve..also i have been looking for any live chat rooms for when im home and need to talk for na.. anyone know of any?? this forum is great and has helped me more than you can imagine.. thx. peace and strength to ya all..
I am going crazy i just cant stand to be using anymore but am at a loss as to how i am ever going to do this on my own. I really think i need rehab,detox something of that sort. i live i a small town and dont think we have anything of that sort in our area.
The length of recovery depend on age, general health of the patient, location and size of the meningioma. I would suggest you to opt for physical and occupational therapy to reduce these impairments. Also please be sure to inform your doctor incase a new symptom appears.
Also, one day we decided to go back to the hospital to see what their physical therapy was like, so I called the Physical Therapy line directly (not through the main line - don't ever do that they have no idea what the hell they are talking about) and went in for a tour.

When and IF you have a surgery on the shoulder make sure you are Vigilant with physical therapy program soon after the surgery, SCAR TISSUE build up after having surgery without rehab can cause more pain and less range of motion than you had before a surgery. I've had better results going to a sports medicine doctors that specialize on the area injured. NEVER ALLOW A DOCTOR TO INSERT A PAIN PUMP CATHETER INTO YOUR SHOULDER JOINT SPACE DURING SURGERY FOR POST OP PAIN RELIEF .
He is paralyzed on the left side, has vision and swallowing problems, but can speak/communicate well and his mind is very sharp. He was sent to an acute care rehab hospital on 1/5/08. They said that their goal is to offer high intensity therapy and get patients off to a good start. Today. less than two weeks later, I was told that they plan to discharge him on 1/31/08 and that he will need to go to a skilled nursing facility.
