rehab

Avatar n tn I have been addicted to pain killers for 6+ years. I've decided that enough is enough & I can't continue to live like this anymore. I am 3 days clean & currently going through withdrawls. I can not afford rehab, or have anyone to care for my children if I could afford to go. I don't know if wanting to quit & change my life is enough for me to kick this. My husband knows about my addiction, I went to him for help. He doesn't understand why I can't just stop.
Avatar f tn I'm a nurse who went to rehab and I still have my license. I live in Georgia and it might be different in each state. Call the state board of nursing in her state and ask. You can remain anonymous. Is she willing to go to rehab?
Avatar f tn He is paralyzed on the left side, has vision and swallowing problems, but can speak/communicate well and his mind is very sharp. He was sent to an acute care rehab hospital on 1/5/08. They said that their goal is to offer high intensity therapy and get patients off to a good start. Today. less than two weeks later, I was told that they plan to discharge him on 1/31/08 and that he will need to go to a skilled nursing facility.
82861 tn?1333453911 Are there any plans in the works for a physical therapy forum? As a veteran of numerous orthopedic surgeries and rehab, I would love to see some kind of expert or even patient-to-patient forum on rehab issues. Surgery is only one step in recovering from an orthopedic injury. The rest of the "cure" is up to the patient's willingness to endure the pain of rehab which is often overlooked by the surgeons themselves.
Avatar n tn Noticed increased bruising ,more than usual ,very active being a rehab nurse with skilled therapy patients 40 hrs a week. More concerned with feeling like I am in a fog especially first waking up very noticeable improves slightly at work but still feel off . I work 40 hr week have to be on top of providing prescribed medical care and physical care. My weight and overall health are well within limits.
Avatar f tn I attend cardiac rehab and the last two times I was on the treadmill, my EKG showed heart block (2nd degree) then normal rhythm, skipped beats, then normal rhythm, it shows some added beats, then back into normal rhythm and then heart block again and normal and so on. The nurse said they could use my EKG for a training class because it had so much different things on it. They sent the strips to my cardiologist and he said not to worry but he would keep an eye on it.
Avatar f tn It was explained to me that his level of consciousness did not allow him to participate in the physical rehab. He is now at home and doing pretty well. He is more alert and moving his limbs. He can shake his head yes and know. I firmly believe he could hear and understand everything that was said around him. Going completely against the grain! .I expect him to make a complete recovery. There are miracles .
Avatar f tn what will rehab do for me? im in the process of calling the ins co to see where i can go. will they give me something to stop this crazy jittery feeling? will i be not so anxious to the point of not coping? i am comin g out of my skin. i cant take it. will rehab help? or will i be in a strange room with strange people going thru the same exact thing? i cant do this alone i just cant... i need help im just not sure what i need.... i am willing and able to go for inpatient treatment.
Avatar n tn On the Blue Cross side, there is a nurse who should be reviewiewing this case -- a nurse-to-nurse conversation may provide the exception you need to get the rehab. This might be a case of a front-line rep just following procedure. He / she is probably doing their job, but this is not a normal case. I'd have your doc or nurse call the insurance. You may also want to post this over at www.healthharbor.com and see what kind of input you get.
Avatar f tn but it is very do-able without inpatient rehab...i am a nurse and was a hydro user at 100 mgs//average//when i stopped///a nurse with a stressful job and went back to work day 5///2 years ago....
Avatar f tn Well I leave Thursdays to do an inpatient detox and rehab. After several surgeries I became dependent on oxycodone 15mg 5xday. When I first realized I was addicted I tried to ct and ended up passing out due to my Bp dropping. Then I decided to taper but my dr stopped that as well because they said I needed to have a 3rd back surgery even tho my last one was in April. I'm not walking correctly, kinda hunched over.
Avatar n tn My grandmother was released from the hospital 9/17/08(She had hip replacement surgery) and moved to a physical therapy/rehab/convalescent place. We gave the nurse privacy to do her job. but when we came back my grandmother was very distraught and in high distress. Even her blood pressure was too high to be moved right away. On 9/18/08 my grandmother informed my mother that she is having major pain in the area of the catheter removal.

Avatar m tn CT scan and neurological tests were perfomed before discharge both was negative. After the episode two days ago when in Cardiac Rehab CT Scan was fine. The nurse at Cardiac Rehab stated the heart monitor did not show in abnormal cardiac signs when the seizure was occuring.
Avatar f tn Hey y'all, I am actually on the plane now off to rehab!!!! I am so scared of detox and leaving my family, but i know deep down inside, this is the right thing to do. I can only pray that i will get through this and come out stronger than ever and continue to seek therapy. This really has been a long dark road for me and i am ready to take charge of my life, i am going into rehab with an open mind and i am going to fight this demon with everything i got in me, and i will WIN!!!!
Avatar f tn I am going crazy i just cant stand to be using anymore but am at a loss as to how i am ever going to do this on my own. I really think i need rehab, detox something of that sort. i live i a small town and dont think we have anything of that sort in our area.
Avatar m tn Men, like me, are always being fussed at for neglecting our health. I'm certainly no exception. I'm 37 and I've had a few issues that probably need a specialist but I decided to get a physical exam, a check up, at a general practitioner's office beforehand, especially since I have never had one. But the experience was not a good one. First, the doctor was not even in, a fact that was never mentioned.
Avatar n tn He spent 10 days in the hospital and then went to a rehab facility. After 5 days he was sent back to the hospital with pneumonia. The doctor who admitted him to the hospital told me that his prognosis was very poor - she mentioned death and advised me to consult with the palliative care nurse. I am certainly not ready to give up on him yet! The pneumonia seems to already be clearing up, though I'm sure he will need to spend several days in the hospital.
Avatar m tn The length of recovery depend on age, general health of the patient, location and size of the meningioma. I would suggest you to opt for physical and occupational therapy to reduce these impairments. Also please be sure to inform your doctor incase a new symptom appears.
1821865 tn?1317522031 Any pregnant ladies work as a nurse. Please help! How do I help my mom who is completely bed ridden while being pregnant. She had a stroke 3 yrs ago, she has been living with me since then. I am not a nurse certain things I don't know. I am 16 weeks, and I do not want to harm my baby when I am position or changing her. Any suggestions welcome.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone. Yes, believe the title. My story, or this particular chapter began a year ago when I was caught diverting meds from my job. I had become heavily addicted to Vicodin (hydrocodone/APAP). To feed my habit I was taking from my patients med supplies. I know, terrible. I still can't believe this is all happening. The first 2 weeks without the drug I had terrible physical withdrawals, I was able to get through the day because I had my son to take care of, only 1.5 at the time.
Avatar n tn You could ask a neurologist about a referral for physical rehabilitation. Sometimes such as after a stroke the area of the brain affected can regain partial functioning or other areas of the brain compensate for it. Also in a standard physical sense a person can help stabilize and strengthen functioning with balance and coordination. A physician and rehabilitation specialist would be able to inform you of the clinical specifics of this.
