Avatar n tn Am I too young to have pancreatic cancer? Is there anything else aside from the work-up already done on me that can give a false high? Why wasn't my pancreas checked? Is pancreatic cancer a possiblitiy?
484033 tn?1208516117 Hi. Since you have stage 2a colon cancer, you're probably going to receive either one or a combination of the following drugs: Capecitabine, Fluorouracil, and Oxaliplatin. All three drugs, whether used singly or as part of a combination regimen, are relatively well tolerated and have "milder" adverse effects when compared to other chemotherapy drugs.
Avatar m tn In Dec 2014 I had a radical nephrectomy to remove a renal papillary cell carcinoma, as a result I am left with one kidney which is 37% functional. In Jan 2016 I had a bowel cancer op and the result is Stage C in that one lymph node tested positive from the 14 removed. I have been referred to Oncology and have to give my decision whether or not to undergo chemotherapy.
Avatar m tn Hi there, my father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at the head of the pancreas in June 2016. He passed away with pancreatic cancer in March 2017. At the time of diagnosis he had jaundice and bile duct obstruction. The bile duct had to be removed through surgery and that was the time when the pancreatic tumour was discovered. By January 2017, there was metastasis of the pancreatic cancer which had spread to the liver and lungs as nodules could be seen in the liver and lungs.

Avatar f tn //www.webmd.com/cancer/pancreatic-cancer/causes-pancreatic-cancer Symptoms of pancreatic cancer are found at this link. https://www.webmd.com/cancer/pancreatic-cancer/pancreatic-cancer-symptoms#1 When they speak of light stools they are speaking in terms of jaundice which usually has other symptoms such as yellow skin or eyes. Do you have that as well? If not, I'd not necessarily associate light stools with pancreatic cancer. GERD is likely to cause yellow stools.
Avatar m tn What is the best exam to rule out Pancreatic Cancer? I´ve been expericieng some problems in the last month: my stools are different, vague low abdominal pain and vague back pains. I am very anxious. After read about Cancer Pancreatic I can´t put my mind at rest and started feeling minor itches. My doctor asked a ultrasound and some blood tests. After the results he said it is fine for Pancreas. But I have other problems: 2 stones in my gallblader and minor hepatic steatosis.
Avatar f tn I have a friend that is sick with pancreatic cancer I don't know what kind he has. I don't know if it's exocrine or endocrine but what I would like to know is what is the survival rate for individuals with this type of cancer. However age, race, gender all of that play a part.
Avatar n tn Went to emergency room and had CT of ABD/Pelvis with contrast. Normal. I am terrified I have Pancreatic Cancer. Is this possible I am 53 year old female. Told by 1 MD I have psoriatic arthritis I think I have Fibromyalgia.
Avatar m tn H Pylori thrives in low stomach acid and lowers stomach acid further. Low levels of stomach acid (stomach acid stimulates the pancreas to release enzymes to help with digestion just to add) can also cause malabsorption and floating stools. There are many possible symptoms from not enough stomach acid. My mother takes betaine HCL with pepsin supplements to increase stomach acid and digestive enzyme supplements to help with digestion. I'll send you a few article with more info.
Avatar f tn We are grasping for awnsers anywhere we can. We did receive a phone call from a friend that suggested pancreatic cancer. Please, if you have any suggestions in what sort of direction to go in I would appreciate it.
Avatar m tn with all of these tests wouldnt they have seen if something serious was causing my symptoms? 5525494 tn?1369235489 I am also having upper and lower back pain. I have an ultrasound scheduled for next week. I had liver blood test done and all things were normal. My questions are: If it was pancreatic cancer, would there abnormal liver enzymes? If back pain was from pancreatic cancer, would there also be other symptoms like jaundice, weight loss, nausea/vomiting or can back pain alone be cause for concern?
Avatar f tn Hi there, I posted a few weeks ago to say my Mum may be going on a trial as they were all out of options. She started the trial yesterday. They are trying a combination of eribulin and capecitabine. As it's a phase 1 trial it's to establish a safe dose so she will be given the drugs in an increasing amount to see what the body can handle and the effect it has. I will keep you all posted on her progress and any good news that comes from the trial.
Avatar n tn Hi I went to the doctor 3 days ago because my testicle hurt he examined it and said it was normal and didn't feel any cancer. Avatar n tn can you get pancreatic cancer from breast cancer. My friend of 40 years first had her breast removed at one year later she was found to have pancreatic cancer, no operation because it had mets to the liver. Since them she has managed to hang on. Avatar m tn Hello and hope you are doing well. Any structural abnormalities of the gall bladder like stones or polyps need surgical correction. The stones can chronically irritate the gall bladder wall and cause inflammation and pain. Also, this chronic irritation is a predisposing cause for gall bladder cancer. If the stone is placed in the neck of the gall bladder, it can cause retention of bile, with stasis and consequent infection. So, the best option would be to have an elective gall bladder removal.
Avatar n tn Read about pancreatic cancer and I am freaking out scared. My best friend dad died from this 2 years ago.I know you don't survive if you get it and its really hard to detect it untill its too late. Avatar m tn At first i didn t think much of it and it didn t change for about a year now. Then i read on the Internet that it could be pancreatic cancer so i got really scared. I went to the doctor and did some tests. Liver enzymes (ALT/AST) were elevated (140/58). Total bilirubin was 1 ( normal >1.2) and conjugated bilirubin was 0. And traces of bile pigments were found in the urine. Then i did an abdominal ultrasound and was told that I have a fatty liver and everything else is normal .
Avatar m tn My husband is an 8 year pancreatic cancer survivor. He had a small lesion on the tail of his pancreas which should up in a ct scan. It took 8 months to diagnose though. Dr after Dr. I don't understand why they would look only at the liver. The only way to truly diagnose pancreatic cancer is to go in and biopsy the pancreas. I'm not sure what sort of specialist did this but you need to find a surgeon that specializes in pancreatic cancer.
