Avatar f tn Back when I was a kid, I hurt my right knee pretty hard. Went to the doctors, as the "swelling" wasn't receding, and was diagnosed with exostosis. Had surgery to remove the ostheocondroma at the age of 13, which resided on the inner part of right knee. Around 20, it started bothering me again.
Avatar m tn I am a distance runner. About 5 months ago, when I was playing basketball with some friends, I went to save a ball out of bounds and landed normally on my right foot. However, at impact, my ankle felt like it was compressed together and all of the sudden was in great pain. I have sprained my left ankle many times, and the pain felt like a sprain; however, the way the pain was caused in my right foot did not resemble any of the ways I had previously sprained my left ankle.
Avatar m tn I was in a half cast, basically on the back of my leg and below the foot for a touch over a week, so I was unable to move my ankle and leg and was on crutches. Then 2 days ago I went to the outpatients department and the doc took the cast off me and told me to start walking on it with the aid of crutches as it isn't the weight bearing bone. He said that the bone will heal by itself without the cast and even with me putting a bit of pressure on it.
Avatar m tn I am a distance runner that had a left side inguinal surgery last April. After a two month recovery, I started running again. I've never really run correctly in the past year. Working with a chiropractor, I got a hip flexor malady adjusted; the PT said I needed to work on flexibility. My left leg kind of 'hangs/float' and doesn't extend out normally. I feel it even when I'm walking. The odd part is that I can't really self-correct it with mental striving.
Avatar m tn I am a runner and have been experiencing pain in my right knee for several years. I ran a lot in high school and then stopped for a while and have been trying to get back into it on and off for years (I am 28 now). for the last four years I have been experiencing sharp pain on the outside of my right knee starting usually after running about 3 miles. no pain when I am not running. It comes on gradually but I eventually need to stop running.
Avatar m tn For the past few weeks, I have had soreness on the outside of my left calf. I feel it mainly in the morning and night if I stretch my leg. It doesn't hurt extremely bad and not constantly but its stayed sore when I stretch or move it a certain way for a while now. I've massaged it and put warm cloths on it but its been hanging around. I am not an athlete or runner, though I do the walk outside and on the treadmill at the gym occasionally.
Avatar m tn First, it is essential to know that what unusual symptoms you are facing after broken screw. It may be possible that broken screw can impinge nerve and lead to some neurological symptoms. Please consult to a neurologist for a detailed approach. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Hi, I posted this in the Neurology community, but was suggested to repost the question here as well: Here's the original post: ----------------------- Hi everyone. I'm a 32 year-old female, married with two kids, and have been having some strange neurological symptoms lately. It first started back in December, when my nose started tingling and felt like it was "asleep".
Avatar m tn Hey I am a thin 22 year old male. I have been a runner since I can remember but started lifting weights a couple years ago. Exercise became an outlet for me in college and has really helped with my mental health/school/social life. Early January I hurt my shoulder real badly doing overhead db tricep extensions too heavy/with elbows outward. I saw an orthopedist and started physical therapy. It has seemed to help.

I also was having problems with dizziness at the time as well, but since I'm prone to sinus problems I wrote it off as clogged sinuses.
Avatar f tn Seems like such a silly question but I have been trying to become a runner, I want to be able to run for abotu 5km, at the moment I can only do one lap of an oval (400m) before I give up. I feel like I am too heavy to run, if that makes sense and after a lap of the oval my leg and *** feel too heavy for me to jog any longer and return to walking pace. I have been trying for over 3 months but can't manage to run more than 400m without returning to walking, any tips?
Avatar m tn I am 41 yr old male. Suffered a broken tib/fib Oct 14. Internal fixation surgery Oct15. Massive bi-lateral PE 11/20. 1 Week in ICU. I have had 3-5 episodes of sudden Tachycardia after that event. Went to urgent care 2x. Followed up with primary care provider and cardiologist. Wore a holter monitor for 24 hrs and another monitor 4 14 days. Had a stress echo. The tach was noticed on the monitor. Stress echo was normal.
Avatar n tn Almost every night I have pain in my knee right above the kneecap. It's an intense tight, pinching feeling, very hard to ignore when I'm laying or sitting down, but when I'm moving/standing up it eases. I don't feel it throughout the day, only when I lay down at night some days. It doesn't make a difference keeping the leg straight or bent, and heating pads don't help much either.

Loss of sensation in mouth, lips, nose, jaw area and upper chest still evident. Occasional “fluttering” in neck area. Negative MRI’s for MS on both occasions. I'm an otherwise healthy 36 year old marathon runner. I've been battling parathesia in various parts of his body for 6 years.
Avatar f tn Hi ..right leg broken severly after 7 months no improvement in bone..
1542537 tn?1293207098 Hi, broken bones take a varying amount of time to heal, mostly depending upon the type of bone broken, the age of the person, and the way in which the bone is broken. Larger broken bones, for example the bones in the thigh, or both bones of leg would take a great deal longer to heal, usually six weeks to three months in the average healthy adult. Begin physical therapy as soon as is practical. That will help.
8924846 tn?1410572901 Try eating more bananas. They help with leg cramps. But I've heard that leg cramps at night are normal once you reach a certain point in the pregnancy. Some women just get it worse than others. I hope they back off for you soon!
Avatar f tn Last week I was running on my treadmill (I am not a runner, just got the treadmill) and had to stop because my calf started hurting pretty bad. It took several days to go away, it is still slightly tender. (It came back for a little while when I was running with my dogs). I figured I just pulled a muscle or something. I was on my treadmill a couple days ago at a very intense incline, and have still been exercising on it, and my elliptical. Could the swelling just be due to that?
Avatar f tn My gastroc contracted incredibly tightly, causing excruciating pain, and I was completely unable to move my leg from knee down. I was in so much pain that it took at least 30 seconds to explain to my boyfriend what was happening. He proceeded to manually extend my gastroc, relieving the acute pain. However, the pain was intense enough that I vomited after cessation, and had a low grade fever for 20-30 minutes. My leg is pretty sore today.
Avatar n tn I am 25 and a fairly active runner. For the past few days, my calves have been twitching constantly...mostly noticable at rest. As I sit in my office during the day, I feel them twitching against my pant leg. It looks/feels almost like popcorn popping. I ran 4 miles a few days ago--I can't remember if they were twitching before that or not. I keep expecting this to go away, but alas, it has not yet.
