The quick will recede and the nail will grow out normally, and then you can trim the nail so that it's even. If you cut it now you're going to injure the quick and make it bleed again, and you don't want to do that. If it were me, I would just leave it and let it grow out and all will be well.

My 88 year old grandfather is suffering from pain in his leg. His leg is swollen and skin there is tight and there is this indentation near the site of pain, like a gash indentation. Anyone have experience with photo-sensitivity? Basically a sun allergy that causes sun to react with chemicals in cosmetics, skin creams...even sunscreen? I am completely broken out in contact dermatitis. I was in the sun 7 days ago with sunscreen on. Anyplace I applied sunscreen and allowed sun to penetrate, I have a terribly bumpy rash. I've read that I should look for sunscreens using zinc oxide for future use. Have any of you dealt with this before? Rash is now on day 7...

I was in a half cast, basically on the back of my leg and below the foot for a touch over a week, so I was unable to move my ankle and leg and was on crutches. Then 2 days ago I went to the outpatients department and the doc took the cast off me and told me to start walking on it with the aid of crutches as it isn't the weight bearing bone. He said that the bone will heal by itself without the cast and even with me putting a bit of pressure on it.

My knees locked while I was running and I felt my ankle snap back, now it is severely swollen but I'm wondering whether I should see a doctor or just ice, wrap, elevate, and it will be okay? A few weeks ago I had a small bump appear on my leg that seemed like an ingrown hair, but I couldn't find it. It quickly turned into a shallo crater with the width the size of a dime and a black dot in the middle. After a day or two the black dot takes over the crater, and the skin around it looks white/red. I noticed a small scab near my hip which had broken open with a little blood like the size of a pin head. I took it off. Now 2 days later I have a circular spot deep red in color the size of a cheerio may be and it is fading off. No itching or anything. I can post a picture later. I don't have any symptoms like itching etc yet. Could this be lyme? I am worried.
