Avatar m tn I am awaiting an appointment from the hospital but with the NHS it takes months to get anywhere. Any help would be massively appreciated.
Avatar m tn I then developed a white coating on my tongue. I attended an NHS clinic in London and had the 4th generation duo test six weeks after exposure, it was negative. I have had no other sexual activity since this incident and have returned to the NHS clinic for a further 4th generation duo test after three months from exposure, this test was again negative. My sporadic prickly heat (intense burning) and rash to parts of my body and white tongue still persist.
Avatar m tn I was in a half cast, basically on the back of my leg and below the foot for a touch over a week, so I was unable to move my ankle and leg and was on crutches. Then 2 days ago I went to the outpatients department and the doc took the cast off me and told me to start walking on it with the aid of crutches as it isn't the weight bearing bone. He said that the bone will heal by itself without the cast and even with me putting a bit of pressure on it.
Avatar m tn I have undiagnosed nervous system disorder and I get this actually but more in the groin, and down my left leg, numbness and not being able to tell if someone touches my leg or not. It certainly could be the after affects of the accident it will take a long time for all the nerves to heal, and it oculd be the results of the brain hemoraghe or just that the accident has caused some spinal cord trauma.
Avatar f tn It's different for everyone, I have read that only 15% of women waters break prior to 'established' labour and the first sign is usually contractions that become more regular and more painful. This is what happened to me last time as well, my waters were broken 30 mins before my son was born. There's also a mucas plug/bloody show, which I didn't have last time but this time didn't mean much as it was 4 wks ago. Try nhs website for more info?
Avatar m tn First, it is essential to know that what unusual symptoms you are facing after broken screw. It may be possible that broken screw can impinge nerve and lead to some neurological symptoms. Please consult to a neurologist for a detailed approach. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn t just NHS but private as well. It made me wonder if acl reconstruction is less successful in the UK because the NHS doesn't like to pay for it and therefore pts don't get as much experience dealing with aclr patients. This is just my theory but I've heard the success rate is about 90% but that might just be for America.

Avatar n tn I cant afford private treatment and can not find an nhs dentist anywhere to help. Ive tried the NHS number and they gave me a list of dentists ( in the merseyside area) when i called, everyone of them said they werent taking any more patients. I really need some help, i've had to battle to stay alive but now i feel like im not living, i cant talk without covering my mouth and spend most of my time hid away so people wont judge me.
Avatar m tn I did my Medial collateral ligament on my left knee 10 months ago. I went to see 3 NHS doctors over 5 months and each told me to rest. I then finally got assigned to Physio which really helped. I was told because of the time (5 months) my ligament had attached back to my leg incorrectly. Anyway I have now done 4 months of solid physio and it's just ended. I feel about 85% back.
Avatar n tn Hi I am from the UK but currently live in the US so know how both systems work. I would recommend seeing the specialist privately in the UK. It's usually not too expensive and you can be seen within days. For something like your eyes, this is a good investment believe me. In the US, you can see whoever you want......but believe me also when I tell you the bills are scary. Even with insurance! Don't hate on the NHS just yet.
Avatar f tn Hi ..right leg broken severly after 7 months no improvement in bone..
1542537 tn?1293207098 Hi, broken bones take a varying amount of time to heal, mostly depending upon the type of bone broken, the age of the person, and the way in which the bone is broken. Larger broken bones, for example the bones in the thigh, or both bones of leg would take a great deal longer to heal, usually six weeks to three months in the average healthy adult. Begin physical therapy as soon as is practical. That will help.
Avatar f tn Hi! well my issue is a Spondylolisthesis L4/L5 grade 1 with a broken facet joint pinching my Sciatic nerve.
Avatar f tn In August 2011, I fell from a window (30 ft) escaping a house fire. Among my broken bones were my L1 and L5 vertebra, my tailbone, my pelvis, and my right hip. Over 18 mos later I'm back on my feet and at age 25, my husband and I are expecting our first child. I'm 6 1/2 weeks pregnant and going to the doctor next week for my first checkup. I have pins in my pelvis and more metal in my hip that aided in the healing process.
1137779 tn?1281542505 face drop, pronator drift, distractibility/lack of concentration, cerebral oedema, optical disc skewed, no reflexes there, jumpy leg here, sleep apnoea, oxygen depletion, the type of blood that clogs vessels and causes occlusions, loss of consciousness, neck bones out of alignment, girt big bits of bone growing out of them in the wrong places, funny stuff going on in them there EEGs, numb bits, and who knows what else) but it's nothing. Bog off!
Avatar f tn As long as you are closely monitored and take care of yourself there is no need for intervention so soon :)
Avatar f tn Has anyone broken their pelvis during pregnancy? I broke mine in a car accident years ago and never had any problems with my first baby. This baby dropped at 28wks and my dr says he is almost certain this baby has broken it again. I'm scheduled for csection next week, which is a huge relief with the pain, but he said it could take 6-12wks to heal. Was wondering what other peoples experience was? Did it get better after delivery?
Avatar m tn firstly I'm sorry about your leg. How do you know it is a ligament versus a tendon or something else by MRI or location? I am asking for a selfish reason as I think that I have had a torn ligament and wanted to know how to diagnose it. I would ice it until the swelling goes down and then switch to heat. Keep it raised as much as you can. Are you running on it? Ligaments do take a long time to heal. I wish I had a better answer.
Avatar m tn my son had nenmonia which led to ostomialitus and a broken leg. this was all eighteen months ago. he is now 3 and a half years old but still walks with a very stiff leg and can not walk up and down stairs with out putting his hand on his knee to use as a support or for leaverage. he has recovered his muscle lost which happened due to his broken leg. His pediatrition has no answer to this stiffness, walking issue...
Avatar f tn Has anyone broken their Tibia and fibia? I broke mine two years ago and am still having problems. I have a plate and eleven screws. I am thinking of having them taken out in the hopes that it will releive some of the discomfort. Any information from someone who has done this would be great.
