Our current surgeon has not done a nail removal let alone removal of the lower portion of the broken nail. We are trying to find surgeons with this specialized experience.

Wow, you got a great clear shot of that! Good work! :D I would just leave it and let it heal on its own. I will eventually get back to normal. The quick will recede and the nail will grow out normally, and then you can trim the nail so that it's even. If you cut it now you're going to injure the quick and make it bleed again, and you don't want to do that. If it were me, I would just leave it and let it grow out and all will be well.

Can you tell me if you have had a creaking noise when you put pressure on your leg where nail was put in? This is my current issue 30 days after my surgery.

so my docter did surgery one year later, he took the nail out of my leg and replaced it with a plate and and screws, during surgery he broke my fibula to get the plate in place. i dont no why he did it but my tibia feels alot better and now my fibula is broken, my question is has anyone ever had a corrective surgery on there tibia and had there fibula broken. And how long does it take for the fib to heal and am i screwed ? i dont know what to do.

s my story , i had a broken tibia and fibula as well i was trying tio help a female from getting beaten by his boyfriend , it was slippery oitside my right leg went forward and my left leg went backwards and my big ***( lol ) landed on top of my ankle and distored my ankle and broke my tibia and fibula , i went to the hospital where i stayed two nights then on monday i had to go see the bone doctor at the other hosiptal and told me that your fracture was a bad one .

m not sure I am understand this right but seems he has problems with the leg/foot that was broken? I would think, the only you can determine what is going on for sure is take him to the Vet (possibly another one or an Ortho Vet if you have one in your area) and get an x-ray on that leg to see if they can see what's going on for sure. Other then that, no way to tell. I had a puppy break a leg years ago and had it casted but it stayed on!!

I'm 21 old had a severe injury to my left leg tibia & fibula in motor bike accident got hit a lorry.. Broken Tibia bone came out making a hole in my skin, i had lost blood... Then i has surgery after 12 hrs, with a rod & 2 nails inserted only for Tibia, but they did nothing to broken fibula... My 6 yr old female cat jumped from a tree branch about 5 ft high. I can walk without crutches I do have a bit of a limp at the minute. Walking up stairs is a little more difficult I have to step good leg first. Yesterday as I put my razor down after shaving, my toddler came into the bathroom, picked it up and rubbed it on his hand. I grabbed it from him immediately but noticed some broken skin around the nail cuticle. (I am unsure if this was caused by said razor or not). and 5 minutes later,I accidently cut my leg by my nail,my leg was bleed . I did not notice weather the hiv blood on my nail dry or wet,if the hiv blood does not dry,have any risk?

On my way to a friends house who happens to be my neighbour i hit my toe nail on a wooden chair that was placed on the footpath and had part of my toe nail broken and was bleeding. When i eventually got to my friends apartment i saw her scrapping her nails with a Razor blade.

You should make a Vet appt before there is an infection, let them do the nails, ask if you can watch, then stay on a regular nail maintenance schedule. The longer the nail grows, the longer the quick (vein) inside the nail grows.

It could be a broken toe, but the nail will fall off if it is blackened. It sounds like the nail bed or the tissue around the nail was badly injured. A podiatrist should take a look at it.

two days ago i slammed my middle finger in the door and instantly my nail started turning black. now the tip of my finger is swollen and the nail is still black. i dont think its broken because i can still bend it.

Go to the ER and get your toe xrayed when the hospital is open, to see if you have broken the toe. With broken toes they are usually strapped to the next toe. Le me know how you get on. Best wishes.
