Dear Medhelp, You know I am a long time member of this site. Thank you for all you do for the members. I know you get support from advertisers and I totally understand that I will see advertisements on the forums. I have even clicked on a few of the advertisements to check out their message. However, I have not checked on any ads recently as I am having a difficult time dealing with the newer "moving" ads.

X-rays 2 minutes before we left looked like the piece of my bone at the top end of the 5th metatarsel was broken, and not just broken, broken OFF. He said it looked to be an old fracutre and that I should (A) wear sneakers more than flipflops (B) If it doesn't help then to get orthopedic inserts. He never suggested a cast or a boot. I don't know if it because the break is too old to fix or what, but I would like a second opinion. ANY opinion would be nice.

About a year ago, I also started experiencing the leg numbing. It would switch from one leg to the other at different intervals in time. Then, it stops for a period of time and starts back up. One thing I do notice is that if I stand for a while, the left leg/thigh starts numbing. I read online a while back and I think it had to do with a nerve in our genitalia area. Unfortunately, I didn't keep researching because of the infrequency it happened.

I was in a half cast, basically on the back of my leg and below the foot for a touch over a week, so I was unable to move my ankle and leg and was on crutches. Then 2 days ago I went to the outpatients department and the doc took the cast off me and told me to start walking on it with the aid of crutches as it isn't the weight bearing bone. He said that the bone will heal by itself without the cast and even with me putting a bit of pressure on it.

My son has a MacBook Pro (laptop) and it is fast enough that he uses it as a gaming computer. The graphics would stink if it wasn't fast... I LOVE my MacMini, and I'll never go back to a PC.

ve been on other boards whose administrators finally decided to get rid of the emoticons in order to speed up the board functionality without spending an arm and a leg. It got to the point that people on dial-up couldn't even access the forums because it took so long to load all the graphics. I came to MH and have remained here since it began because of the information available. Like Mary 53, I find graphics to be extremely distracting on any forum.

Hello, I'm disabled stemming from a bad surgery that left me with severe leg and back pain,oh yeah, a hand full of rods and screws. Five days ago i was walking and slipped in a puddle of oil. I caught myself before i hit the ground. I figured that the pain would go away in a couple of days. But it hasn't subsided at all. My back is hurting (alot more than usual) I really think that there's something wrong. I never cry, but this brings me to tears. What do you think?

s my story , i had a broken tibia and fibula as well i was trying tio help a female from getting beaten by his boyfriend , it was slippery oitside my right leg went forward and my left leg went backwards and my big ***( lol ) landed on top of my ankle and distored my ankle and broke my tibia and fibula , i went to the hospital where i stayed two nights then on monday i had to go see the bone doctor at the other hosiptal and told me that your fracture was a bad one .

s hard to say if this could be your problem or not, but if it keeps happening, it could be..processor, graphics card, or hard drive. The worse case scenario would be your mother board going bad. As a precaution, I would backup any pics or documents that you want saved..just in case :) When I had this recently happen, my processor went out..it was shutting down, slow, clicking unexpectedly, and programs were crashing or slow.

Begin physical therapy as soon as is practical. That will help.

Has anyone broken their pelvis during pregnancy? I broke mine in a car accident years ago and never had any problems with my first baby. This baby dropped at 28wks and my dr says he is almost certain this baby has broken it again. I'm scheduled for csection next week, which is a huge relief with the pain, but he said it could take 6-12wks to heal. Was wondering what other peoples experience was? Did it get better after delivery?

my son had nenmonia which led to ostomialitus and a broken leg. this was all eighteen months ago. he is now 3 and a half years old but still walks with a very stiff leg and can not walk up and down stairs with out putting his hand on his knee to use as a support or for leaverage. he has recovered his muscle lost which happened due to his broken leg. His pediatrition has no answer to this stiffness, walking issue...

Has anyone broken their Tibia and fibia? I broke mine two years ago and am still having problems. I have a plate and eleven screws. I am thinking of having them taken out in the hopes that it will releive some of the discomfort. Any information from someone who has done this would be great.

I would also try to straighten it out throughout the day by putting it in my left pant leg between my pants and my leg. Anyway... it still works fine now it just has a slight curvature to the left. My question is could there still be complications associated with the fracture or do you think I'm fine? Also do you think it's possible that my penis did not fully develop to it's full potential size due to the fracture?

Hi about a year ago while i was doing jumping jacks i pulled a muscle in my left leg now i have a pain in my inner groin, when i step a certain way or try to do any jumping exercises.

The usual period for healing is around 6-8 weeks, but lower leg fractures take a little more to recover. The initial one week period is also taken into account. Follow up is advised every two weeks to see whether alignment is proper or not. In case of misalignment found at any point of treatment surgery might be necessary. Hope this information was helpful.
