1453990 tn?1329231426 I seem to recall you saying somewhere that you tend to fall upstairs, not down. This may be a sign of foot drop, where you are not lifting your leg high enough and catch the bottom of the step. This has happened to me many times, but I have not had a full out episode of foot drop where I had to drag my leg. I always make sure that I keep clear paths for walking in the house, with the lights on and use handrails. I also try to walk close to walls in case I lose my balance.
5826720 tn?1374982858 This happened July 8th we are almost four weeks from that accident. He did not have any fractures or broken bones. He has been out of work and he is doing physical therapy. I have noticed that he does not remember things. For example we sat down and watched a movie at home and he states he does not remember watching the movie. He also has a problem driving he seems to go to the side like he is drunk but he is not drunk. He also is having trouble sleeping and his mood swings are really weird.

Avatar f tn t have any obvious swelling or broken bones. But his snout is very sensitive, when I touched it he tried to bite me. No bleeding though. Most clinics are closed for the next three days due to the holidays.
Avatar f tn When I do sleep I have to roll over every hour because my ear that is on the pillow falls asleep. (Imagine the painful numb tingling feeling you get when your foot falls asleep but it's your ear.) Thank god I only have 4 weeks left. Good luck ladies.
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome to our little MS community, Hmmmmm i'm not at all sure why this particular issue, would seem weird to a neuro in the first place, a neuro treating you for MS and being unaware of how common an MS issue it is and the why's of it, is what i'm finding more weird! There are a few different common reasons for why MSers with mobility issues can trip and or fall........'basically' every muscle in your leg needs to work together so your leg functions normally.
Avatar n tn She just turned a year, and is starting to walk. She has taken a few bad falls in the past couple of days landing on the back of her head where her shunt is. Should I be concerned? When I feel the tube it is no longer nice and smooth but feels dented in a few places? Will this cause a problem? I have left many messages with the neurology clinic and the pediatrician but have had no responses. Has anyone experienced this? She otherwise seems fine.
Avatar m tn I was in a half cast, basically on the back of my leg and below the foot for a touch over a week, so I was unable to move my ankle and leg and was on crutches. Then 2 days ago I went to the outpatients department and the doc took the cast off me and told me to start walking on it with the aid of crutches as it isn't the weight bearing bone. He said that the bone will heal by itself without the cast and even with me putting a bit of pressure on it.
Avatar f tn Sounds like a broken bone is possible. You may want to ask her doctor to arrange an X-ray or similar test.
Avatar f tn I have tingling, coming and going in lower leg, also creepy feeling, it gets painful and when I have long pants on and even the sheet in bed aggravates the pain, but I am able to walk other than I get pain, leg also feels heavy, very strange.
11294269 tn?1422402907 A few moms have told me they take benadryl in their 3rd trimester to help them sleep they said their doctors approved it for them. I'm weary about taking any medication while.pregnant. I'm 33 weeks and get maybe 4 hours of.sleep a night, broken up. Falling asleep takes hours. I'm not in pain (provided i dont roll over lol) but I'm extremely irritable and itchy. I have restless leg syndrome too. I cant take another night like this. But again, I'm scared to take it.
Avatar m tn First, it is essential to know that what unusual symptoms you are facing after broken screw. It may be possible that broken screw can impinge nerve and lead to some neurological symptoms. Please consult to a neurologist for a detailed approach. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn You may be experiencing "restless leg syndrome". I get it EVERY TIME I'm pregnant (I'm on my 4th pregnancy). To me,it's a similar feeling to when your foot/leg falls asleep and is beginning to wake up. I'm always kicking my leg and foot around at night to get the sensation to lessen. If this is what you are experiencing, sadly there is nothing to help it. It's just one of those pesky pregnancy symptoms that luckily go away after birth. Good luck on your pregnancy!!!

Avatar n tn My son is complaining that his leg from the knee down goes numb or falls asleep on a daily basis. He has gone to see a doctor and he suggests that it is a pinched nerve; want an opinion of what to do as this seems to be chronic in nature.
358594 tn?1211255129 I know it's only been 2 weeks, but I twisted my left knee, heard a loud pop, then couldn't move my leg without intense pain. Went to the doc., was told nothing was broken, probably a bad sprain. I did R.I.C.E., but it is still swollen & hot to the touch. I have been putting some pressure on it, but the major problem is that 3 months ago, I was in a car accident & had a severe ankle sprain on the right side.
Avatar f tn I HAVE RT FOOT NUMBNESS AND SPASMS TO ENTIRE RT LEG WHICH STARTED IN DEC AND HAVE NOT LET UP. I HAVE A SENSATION LIKE ICECUBE UP AGAINST MY RT BUTT. I'VE BEGUN DRAGGING THE RT FOOT WHEN I'M TIRED AND WHEN I CLIMB STAIRS THE TOE DOES NOT CLEAR THE NEXT STEP. I'VE HAD 2 FALLS AND 2 NEAR FALLS WHEN THE LEG JUST GIVES OUT. I STILL HAVE THE TIGHTNESS AROUND MY TORSO AND PAIN AT LOWER EDGE OF RIBCAGE. MY RT EYE HAS BEGUN TWITCHING. MY MEMORY IS STILL BAD. THE FATIGUE IS WORSE.
Avatar f tn Hi ..right leg broken severly after 7 months no improvement in bone..
1542537 tn?1293207098 Hi, broken bones take a varying amount of time to heal, mostly depending upon the type of bone broken, the age of the person, and the way in which the bone is broken. Larger broken bones, for example the bones in the thigh, or both bones of leg would take a great deal longer to heal, usually six weeks to three months in the average healthy adult. Begin physical therapy as soon as is practical. That will help.
Avatar f tn Hey there... I some how cut the circulation off to my right leg during sleep last night. I don't remember how, I only know I woke up around 4 this morning and my leg was cold and completely numb. I put it straight and when the blood started going back in my leg felt very heavy and once the blood started going back through it was very very painful. I am not exactly sure how long my leg was cut off like that because I was asleep.
Avatar n tn My dad has become "tottery," and has taken several falls, even with use of a cane -- he seems to get off balance, and when he starts to fall is not able to catch himself at all, falls hard. He will be 80 tomorrow, is diabetic but closely monitored by doctor. Not sure what all his meds are, but not on clonazepam or any antidepressants. Also has really bad leg cramps at night, which may or may not be related. any thoughts?
