I am having issues after external fixator was removed. Last July (7/29/2017) I hit a deer on my motorcycle compound fracture tub/fib shattered etc. the fixator was used to hold everything in place while the skin healed so I could have plates put in. It is now Mid March and I can’t walk or even put much weight on it. There’s a circle the size of a quarter where the rod was inserted. I’m very frustrated and could use some ideas for questions..ct scan / Dr appt back to back next week.
The Ilizarov method uses a versatile external fixator to produce gradual changes in the length and alignment of an extremity.

9 weeks ago she had an achilles tendon graft in her elbow joint to relace the lost cartalege. She also had an external fixator put in arm for six weeks. As the nerve block wore off from surgery, we noticed she could not lift her wrist, or her fingers at the first joint. She could move them down ,just not up. The Dr. said to wait it may just be the nerve block. After a week he decided to go back in and said he found a nerve was pinched against one of the pins for the fixator.
40 days ago I had a surgery for my left big toe as the bone got displaced....An external fixator was applied and was removed 20 days ago...Now I can walk fine but the toe is really stiff and i can barely bend it....could you please guide me as to what should i do?
I was in a half cast, basically on the back of my leg and below the foot for a touch over a week, so I was unable to move my ankle and leg and was on crutches. Then 2 days ago I went to the outpatients department and the doc took the cast off me and told me to start walking on it with the aid of crutches as it isn't the weight bearing bone.
He said that the bone will heal by itself without the cast and even with me putting a bit of pressure on it.
I was put in an external fixator for a little over 2 months and then had ORIF surgery where a cadaver was put in along with a plate and i believe about 9 or 10 screws. I am fully weight bearing now and use my foot fully with the exception of limited range of motion of the ankle. My main issue is that if I am on my feet for a long period of time, my ankle will swell up real bad and sometimes my foot will even feel swollen. I had my ex-fix was done in August 2013 and my ORIF in October 2013.
I'm 21 old had a severe injury to my left leg tibia & fibula in motor bike accident got hit a lorry.. Broken Tibia bone came out making a hole in my skin, i had lost blood... Then i has surgery after 12 hrs, with a rod & 2 nails inserted only for Tibia, but they did nothing to broken fibula...
Now after 11 months, I'm walking normally but still i cant run, jump & unable to climb stairs quickly...
Please tell me,
1. when can i run & able climb stairs quickly?

I had a knee fusion 3 yrs ago. Wish i had gotten 2nd opinion before though.
Got artistics on tip of R hip from this. Also have 3 discs in my lower back cause i was not told about adjusting my shoe height on R leg. As after knee fusion my R leg is 2" shorter that L leg. I have nerve tingling & R leg can fall Aleep at time of I don't watch it like of sitting down in restraunt or that. Leg can fall asleep etc.
Looking to talk to dr now about knee fusion reversal etc now.
Hi Rob - Great - I can't wait to hear from a dr that "everything looks fine" when the shooting pain from the ankle to the knee tells me it's not. The pain level varies but most of the time it's a 10. My right tibial plateau was fractured 9-4-2004. After the external fixator was removed, a plate & 2 screws were put on (into?) my knee.
my left leg tibia and fibula both broken in an accideent about 8 and half months ago. fracture has alaready healed. in surgery external fixators were applied, wiring was done by making holes in the bone. while boring,drill machine was moved in a bigger diameter makeing a wound which was also burnt. this wound still not healed. a very little drop of pus ozzes...
He had emergency surgery to insert two external rods between his femur and lower tibia to stabilize the leg and was released to go home today. His ER surgeon said he should have plates and screws installed after the swelling subsides, in two to three weeks. My question is: how long can one wait for this type of repair? It seems like the bone pieces would start to regrow together in a random manner.
The nose end of the vehicle landed on her right lower leg, crushing the Tibia and Fracturing the Fibula. She was Med-Flighted the 40+ miles to Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children in Alabama. I would have preferred that she had been flown to UAB in Birmingham, Alabama but she was losing a lot of blood, so good thinking on behalf of the Med Flight Crew. Anyway, she spent 8 hours in the Pediatric Trauma/ER before seeing a surgeon...

I think the surgeon does not have experience in External fixator therapy for Clavicle fracture, hence he feels people might be nuts talking about it. Well that is not our concern.
Have you taken a second opinion from another orthopedist for your condition?
Exactly there is a risk of disease transmission from using a bone from blood bank. What we are talking about is another incision on your body and risk involved with that.
My neurosurgeon first ordered 3 steroid injections with no success, I went to physical therapy and in my third week, I started having pain numbness and weakness in my left leg down to my foot. The physical therapist checked my knee reflexes and I had none. She called and made an appoointment to the neurosurgeon. His PA saw me the next day because he was in surgery. EMG study was ordered and the physician checked my reflexes also.
Is there a medical condition where a person have a very low sensitivity to pain, despite the kind of pain whether its a inner pain like stomach pain and broken bones or external pain like the amputation of a limb or a deep cut in skin ?
I read about the term " Threshold of pain " ... which talks about the point where a person start to feel pain.
Can someone have a very low point, that is to say, he won't be bothered with a broken bone ? or amputation of a arm or leg ?
There was no penetration,therefore no risk of hiv transmission.Hiv is unable to reproduce outside it,s living host,it becomes inactive.You never had an exposure.

to start this happen roughly 9 months ago, very shy guy never done anything with m or f no kissing nothing, well something came out of me one night and wanted to try oral m/m met up with the guy said he was "clean" about 5 days later I got strep throat, now the oral only last roughly 30-40 secs before I stopped wasn't for me he was fine with it no cum at all maybe pre-cum? now 9 months later anxiety and stress and me thinking maybe I got hiv from this?
