I'm 21 old had a severe injury to my left leg tibia & fibula in motor bike accident got hit a lorry.. Broken Tibia bone came out making a hole in my skin, i had lost blood... Then i has surgery after 12 hrs, with a rod & 2 nails inserted only for Tibia, but they did nothing to broken fibula... Now after 11 months, I'm walking normally but still i cant run, jump & unable to climb stairs quickly... Please tell me, 1. when can i run & able climb stairs quickly? 2.

My wife broke her small toe yesterday and we went to the doctor for x-rays, treatment, etc...Currently her leg is cold to the touch, from the knee down, but very minor color change. I think it may be due to her leg being elevated but doesn't really seem too likely. Is this normal for a broken toe? Should we go to the emergency room or wait for our next appt on Monday?

I asked the doctor why my fibula looked like is still broken on the x-ray. The response was that the fibula was already healing and there was no reason to attach pins or screws to it and also they said that fibula bone does not support the body weight at all. I just wanted to have an opinion to make sure that I will not have problems in the future with my leg because of the fibula bone is now on that position.

I had x-rays done there is no torn muscle , dislocated, cracked or broken bones the doctor told me to strecth the area but it hasn't helped, was wondering if a chiropractor would be able to help me with my problem

my son had nenmonia which led to ostomialitus and a broken leg. this was all eighteen months ago. he is now 3 and a half years old but still walks with a very stiff leg and can not walk up and down stairs with out putting his hand on his knee to use as a support or for leaverage. he has recovered his muscle lost which happened due to his broken leg. His pediatrition has no answer to this stiffness, walking issue...

If i dont start walking on it by the end of the week should i go see the doctor again? When i got the cast off last wednsday the doctor said it was about 60% to 70% healed.

Has anyone broken their Tibia and fibia? I broke mine two years ago and am still having problems. I have a plate and eleven screws. I am thinking of having them taken out in the hopes that it will releive some of the discomfort. Any information from someone who has done this would be great.

I was in a half cast, basically on the back of my leg and below the foot for a touch over a week, so I was unable to move my ankle and leg and was on crutches. Then 2 days ago I went to the outpatients department and the doc took the cast off me and told me to start walking on it with the aid of crutches as it isn't the weight bearing bone. He said that the bone will heal by itself without the cast and even with me putting a bit of pressure on it.

You need to go back to the doctor. It doesn't take much of an injury to possibly cause a blood clot. Since you have a swollen ankle, it makes sense to go back to the doctor and rule this out. Blood clots can be dangerous and need to be tended to immediately. I'm not saying this is what you have but it is worth getting it checked out.

It feels like iv done something more then just bruise or twist it because its gradually getting worse, iv broken my leg before and it kinda feels like that. Im a lifeguard and am worried that this is affecting my work, also soeone at work suggested i might have injured my 'scaphoid bone' (spelt wrong) does this sound possible?

t need surgery and my bone was repositioned and i was put in a cast. I had my sixteenth birthday with a cast on my right leg and i have had to cancel my driving test as i can't drive with a cast on. I will be with a full walking cast for another 2 weeks (its been 5) and then i will have a short walking cast for another 3 weeks. Hi, I slipped rather badly in the snow 7 years ago and hit my leg (shin) on the step of the platform of a bus I was getting onto. It hurt and bled rather badly - too painful for me to cry and I can't take a lot of pain! Although it happened a long time ago there's a dent where I injured it and its still bruised. Is it likely I've fractured it and should I see a doctor? I've been getting cold feelings below the area and I'm worried about the dent and bruise.

Now when i carry something in my left hand i loose all felling in my left leg and left side of body. Doctor informs me that plat is still in place. But pain is getting worse. Need advise.

I thought I only sprained my ankle two weeks ago, but above my ankle I keep getting a sharp pain like a foreign object is in there stabbing me every step I take. They have doctors who focus on pain and can advise you on all sorts of treatments (Including when you should consider talking to a surgeon about knee replacement) Your GP can write you a prescription for compression. But otehr form repairing the bone , you can try to put soem stainless steel support on the replace of the broken bone.It is a safe teqniqie as my uncle had this operation at 1992 on his broken leg femur and he is still ok andno one even knows he had a surgery.

I broke my shattered my tib and broke my fib 6weeks ago i had a metal rod put in my leg im guessing for the tib and had 2 screws juat below my knee and 2 screws above my ankle. my question to anyone that knows is wat is the healing time for this injury? im going for my xray on 17/11/09 to c how the bone is healing and tghe hopefully i shud be able to weight bear.

and 2 weeks of rest (walking a little but taking it easy) I am still in so much pain. I have seen my primary care doctor but she just tells me all this pain is "normal". I have not had a regular bowel ,movement in over 3 weeks. I have diahrea and even that hurts so much I cry. I am having shooting pains in my right leg. I've had my left ankle broken on sept 29, it was a fibula frature with a tibia dislocation, was on splint for a week, had surgery on oct 7th,plate + screws + a very long screw to place my tibia on the right place, splint for another week, then my orthopedist put me on aircast Air Stirrup Universe since then. He told me to start physical therapy a week after surgery, but I waited until 2 weeks. Now my foot hurts on an area that has nothing to do with the fracture.

The only thing that gives me relief is pushing both feet against the wall and applying pressure. I walk like a have a broken leg or something cuz the pain is horrible even during the day. Apparently they have these weird stocking that helps with blood circulation.
