Avatar f tn d probably get it checked in another 6 months to see where you are at. This article may help you understand how blood sugar can fluctuate and when it is normal. https://www.mayoclinic.
325405 tn?1262290178 My Metformin increased to 1000mg one month later and then in December my insulin was tested again it was finally normal. My morning blood sugar readings are now between 95 and 105 but if I don't take the Metformin they go up to 115 to 120. I don't test alot during the day but on those times I have after a meal I'm usually in the 120's. What was your diagnosis of Type 2 based on? Did you have the 2 or 3 hours glucose test? Sounds like your doing great managing your numbers!
Avatar n tn If you eat a big meal (or wrong food) in the evening your blood sugar will shoot up and you will feel good. During th early hours of the morning the blood sugar levels will drop and you wake up feeling bad. Try and eat a wholewheat sandwich with chicken breast (no mayonaise!) and tomatoe or something similar (low fat, low sugar) just before going to sleep. When you wake in the morning eat a Provita (or any wholewheat biscuit) immediately before you drink coffee.
Avatar f tn Your dog is throwing up bile due to low blood sugar. As you know, when Cody throws up, there is no food in it, just fluid. This proves that his stomach is empty. With small dogs, they can become hypoglycemic very easily. I suggest giving a few treats before bed. Or, stop by your local pet store and pick up some Nutra-Cal - it is a sugar based thick syrup that also contains many nutrients. Squeeze some onto your finger (about the size of a nickel) two times and allow Cody to lick it off.
Avatar f tn Hypoglycemia/ low blood sugar would be considered blood sugar levels less than about 70. Your result of 103 is normal, not hypoglycemia. It is likely that your symptoms may be from other causes. Sometimes headaches can be a sign of not drinking enough - so a glass of water and a few minutes to relax / be quiet - may help a lot. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn I tested my blood sugar this morning and it was 105. Would you say this is out of the normal range. I had blood work done about a month ago when I had my annual physical and my sugar level came back at 109. My doctor didn't seem to alarmed.
1773108 tn?1314158067 Good Morning, I have a question about high blood sugar levels that don't seem to stabilize. My boyfriend has been struggling for years with high blood sugar. He told me this morning that his level was at 480+!!!! He says he doesn't feel any different whether it's high or low. The lowest it's been (to my knowledge) is still in the high range of 200+.
Avatar n tn When he had a seizure Friday I called 911 and the paramedics checked his blood sugar and it was 218 and they thought he might be diabetic. 8 hours later we took him to the health department and they checked his sugar (by drawing blood from his arm) and it was 112 and they said he wasn't diabetic and that the finger ***** test wasn't very accurate. They thought that the seizure caused his sugar to go up. The last time he had ate anything was 12 hours before the seizure.
Avatar f tn Well I found out the next day my blood pressure was high. It has been fine since. But this morning I got really lightheaded and a headache all of a sudden(which I know is normal in pregnancy) but I checked my blood pressure again to see if that was it, and it was perfect. So I checked my blood sugar and it was 79, I had just had a fruit smoothie. The medical assistant at work told me it was low, and then another told me it was slightly low. My question is does anyone know what it should be?

7543158 tn?1391978069 That little test he does apparently keeps showing an average blood sugar of 130 when I know that to be untrue. I have a glucometer and check my sugar regularly throughout the day. I've even shown him my meter's log and he still won't believe me about my spikes and crashes. He believes I'm just overly worried and that it's all in my head. What do I do?
1947337 tn?1331423890 I slept til almost 3 and i had to just force myself to get up and unlock the door for my son. All i could think of was to check my blood sugar (i have a maachine from yrs ago when i had gest diab but have never had any other prob that i know of. Anyway, it was 56 which i think is low so i ate a couple of spoonsful of pb and drank a dr pepper. Waited 45 min and checked it again, it went up to 72. Avatar m tn HI 48 year old male, 5 feet 8 inches. 164 lbs. Recently had blood test , Blood sugar came back 128m/dl. Doctor has not recommended any medicines . He suggested to exercise and control the diet. Day before the test had a pasta lunch with cola and small pasta fried fish dinner with 2 drinks(alcoholic). dinner complete at 9.00pm. Also had a antidepressant for sleep. Went the next morning for test around 8.am. Is it possible for my test to be wrong given the previous days gluttony.

Avatar n tn Why is it that my blood sugar is higher in the morning than it was prior to going to bed the night before? For example: At night it may read 115 (this is approx. 4 hours after dinner, and no snacking). THEN - first thing in the morning, before I've had anything to eat it reads 135. After having breakfast, right before lunch time it may be 85-90. Thanks for your feedback.
1058898 tn?1275675151 I notice my blood sugar at night between 2-3 am are over 120 and my fasting blood sugar in the morning is over 100. When i get the fealing of low it is around 80 and it will keep dropping. the last time it went to 67 and i had to eat some thing i couldnt wait. i had a cup of oj and checked in 15 min and it went to 137. I have also notice that i spike about 1 hour after eating and come down around 2 hours after which is mostly in the 130. and i notice if i drink a can of pop.
1448460 tn?1284694467 Prednisone does tend to raise your blood sugar and you should do what you can to keep it down as much as possible. You did not mention if you are on insulin or pills or just diet control. Considering you are only taking prednisone for a very short time, you shouldn't have too much to worry about. If your blood sugar is at that level for a longer period of time that may bring about some damage. Exercise more, if possible, definitely drink lots more water and really watch your diet.
Avatar m tn Update, I had my blood drawn this morning and had no problems. I think this was due to the following: The nurse had me lay down WHILE drawing the blood and I also drank 3 full glasses of water right before I left to the dr.'s office.
784382 tn?1376931040 Hi Welcome to the MedHelp forum! Blood circulation is ideally checked by a vascular specialist by sending you for either angiograms or duplex ultrasounds. There are many causes of dizziness, lightheadedness, passing out, blackouts etc. It is difficult to comment without examination. I am just enumerating the possible causes. You can discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined.
Avatar n tn Thanks, I never thought about the sugar going up in the morning being turned around bt actually eating. Bang! I could have had a v8!
Avatar n tn s a much less common phenomenon called Somogyi effect where a waking high blood sugar results from our blood sugar having plummeted overnight -- then the liver causes glucose to be released to counteract that low. Here is a good explanation offered by someone at UCSD: http://www.faqs.org/faqs/diabetes/faq/part2/section-13.html While I'm not a physician (no one here is), I've learned how to "test" what's going on.
Avatar n tn I notice that when I wake up in the morning its about 90 but when I eat toast I get very hungry and shaky around noon. When I take my blood it 50 to 60. Is the bread causing my blood sugar to drop?
