Well this is what's weird about it: The lesions come and go. The drug is Biaxin XL. I've taken plain Biaxin before at least twice, but not this XL formulation. I've been wondering if maybe I'm allergic to some other part of the pill that's not the drug.

My doc perscribed Biaxin xl 2x 500 and prednisone 50mg 4 days if needed. Last night I was so bad I took the pred at 8pm. This morning I took the biaxin at 6am. It's been about 8 hours and my heart has sped up from about 70 to 85-90 for about an hour and won't come down. I'm afraid to take my next dose of prednisone but I've been on short bursts before with no issue. Is a resting heart rate around 90 something to be worried about?

they are cyst-busters. I was on biaxin for that purpose (along with another med to kill the bugs after they came out of the cyst), but had a reaction to it after several months; so the dr switched me to flagyl and a different antibiotic. It's a fair question why the dr would give you two cyst busters. Sounds like a lot. Good luck with the new job!! Sounds like a good one.

Oral gonorrhea is actually pharyngeal, i.e. the back of the throat. It is unlikely you would acquire it just by getting a little semen in the mouth, although I can't say it would be impossible. However, pharyngeal gonorrhea is usually (over 90% of cases) asymptomatic, with no pain or anything else. Here too there are exceptions, and once in a while it causes severe pharyngitis like yours. So the direct answer is yes, this could possibly be what you have. But it is very unlikely.

allmy dr told me was that certin quinolones do give false positives. my med was biaxin xl 500mg. but that was all he would tell me. he seemed to be really busy. now i need to find out if that is one of the 13 quinolones. if you can assist me further please do so. or advize me where to search. thanks .

twice daily for two weeks, and will take one more week of this dose and then go to 250 mg. Biaxin for 30 days with two refills. I bought Biaxin, no generic. I have been taking Biaxin for 5 days and have experienced the worst side effects i have ever had in my life! The doctor took blood and did a throat culture, in case I had strep or mono. Neither was present. I was on avalide, toprol xl, procardia xl along with the norpace and had to take potassium because it would go too low for the norpace. I have not been able to take avalide since the episode and am now on Avapro which works bettermost of the time than using avalide. My LLMD is changing my antibiotic treatment to Omnicef and Biaxin for 3 more months. I have read lots of your post concerning biaxin and azithromycin and whether they cure syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia and NGU. I have found that biaxin is chemically different than azithromycin but biologically same at killing bacteria as azithromycin. I was told by my doctors to take 2 pills (each pill is 250 mg) twice a day for the entire antibiotic course, and then continue it for 2 weeks after finishing the antibiotics. However, I had C Diff three times in the past, so we were being extra cautious (and it is incredibly expensive to be taking 4 Florastor a day).
