allmy dr told me was that certin quinolones do give false positives. my med was biaxin xl 500mg. but that was all he would tell me. he seemed to be really busy. now i need to find out if that is one of the 13 quinolones. if you can assist me further please do so. or advize me where to search. thanks .

My doc perscribed Biaxin xl 2x 500 and prednisone 50mg 4 days if needed. Last night I was so bad I took the pred at 8pm. This morning I took the biaxin at 6am. It's been about 8 hours and my heart has sped up from about 70 to 85-90 for about an hour and won't come down. I'm afraid to take my next dose of prednisone but I've been on short bursts before with no issue. Is a resting heart rate around 90 something to be worried about?

However, I was recently sick with sinus drainage and a brief sore throat, which is now gone but I went through a course of antibiotics (biaxin xl). I am now abroad, in Paris, and I have a thick white/brown coating on parts of my tongue. I am concerned that this is thrush and it is from HIV.

I am currently taking 50 mg a day Toporol XL for Pac's. My Primary Care Physcian wants to increase my dosage to 100 mg per day. (double dosage). I also have Sinus Tachycardia which is under control with medications. My concern is that doubling my medication could lower the heart rate too much and cause serious problems. I was told it would have to be doubled since the tablets are 50 mg each. Is there any other solution or medication that comes in a lower dosage for this problem?

I was taking Biaxin 500mg twice a day for a week and then took the rpr two days later. could this affect the results in any way?

Also should add, treated with Cipro 500mg for 10 days and Biaxin 500mg for 21 days for sinus infection, during the time frame of possible std infection....would this cause a delay or would it actually cure the std infection, if there was one to begin with?

I had surgery in Feb 2008 and a routine uralalysis was done pre op (I was never told anything was wrong) In Febuary 2008 I had an respitory infection and received a antibiotic that has been mentioned on this site called Biaxin XL 2X 500mg pills once a day for 10 days.

Well this is what's weird about it: The lesions come and go. The drug is Biaxin XL. I've taken plain Biaxin before at least twice, but not this XL formulation. I've been wondering if maybe I'm allergic to some other part of the pill that's not the drug.

Why is it that taking oral antibiotics (leviquin, biaxin and now Z pack) seem to give me spells of palpitations--rapid/pounding heart beat? This is listed as a side effect, but I'd like to know if there's a chemical explanation. I am a 49 year-old female runner w/ normal resting hr of about 50-55. I had an episode of svt in June. Given adenosine to stop it. Then prescribed Toprol XL to keep heart rate low. It seems that I have pacs every day. Yesterday it was constant for about 9 hours. About one per minute. My chest feels like it is quaking, makes me fearfull, nauseous, generally weak. Saw cardiologist yesterday, we both wonder if Toprol is making situation worse. facility doctor told me I probably had chronic bronchitis (with some post nasal drip), and prescribed Biaxin 500mg 2x for 10 days. Saw my EP today. We upped the Flec to 100 mg 2x day to try and stop the PACs and in turn again try and control SVT, My heart ultrasound today was perfect normal.

I went to the clinic and the doctor thinks it is a type of strep throat. They gave me Biaxin XL and i started it today. I did not tell her about my situation from 3 weeks ago. With those symptoms, does this have any possible relation to HIV?
