biaxin xl and pregnancy

My doc perscribed Biaxin xl 2x 500 and prednisone 50mg 4 days if needed. Last night I was so bad I took the pred at 8pm. This morning I took the biaxin at 6am. It's been about 8 hours and my heart has sped up from about 70 to 85-90 for about an hour and won't come down. I'm afraid to take my next dose of prednisone but I've been on short bursts before with no issue. Is a resting heart rate around 90 something to be worried about?

However, I was recently sick with sinus drainage and a brief sore throat, which is now gone but I went through a course of antibiotics (biaxin xl). I am now abroad, in Paris, and I have a thick white/brown coating on parts of my tongue. I am concerned that this is thrush and it is from HIV.

Well this is what's weird about it: The lesions come and go. The drug is Biaxin XL. I've taken plain Biaxin before at least twice, but not this XL formulation. I've been wondering if maybe I'm allergic to some other part of the pill that's not the drug.

allmy dr told me was that certin quinolones do give false positives. my med was biaxin xl 500mg. but that was all he would tell me. he seemed to be really busy. now i need to find out if that is one of the 13 quinolones. if you can assist me further please do so. or advize me where to search. thanks .

I had surgery in Feb 2008 and a routine uralalysis was done pre op (I was never told anything was wrong) In Febuary 2008 I had an respitory infection and received a antibiotic that has been mentioned on this site called Biaxin XL 2X 500mg pills once a day for 10 days.

I am 25 weeks, I take 90 mg of Procardia XL daily. Two weeks ago my bp was 110/70 and the last couple of days I have had headaches off and on. Today my bp was 99/59. Should I take my evening dose of Procardia XL or hold the dose until I can talk with my obgyn?

worse yesterday i noticed a small white patch on my tonsils which went away but reappeared on the back of my throat today; in the crevice that conects my nasal passage to my mouth: what are the chances its hiv i know oral thrush is pretty unique as far as symptoms go: if it was an infection why didnt the antibiotics clear it up i tested negative a few days shy of the 'week mark the worst part is that i recently started a study abroad program in paris and this is ruining my trip.

I was taking Biaxin 500mg twice a day for a week and then took the rpr two days later. could this affect the results in any way?

If I was infected with any of the above, would an 8 day course of Biaxin resolved these? And yes it was 8 days and not the usual 10 for whatever reason. 2. I've read on this site that most of these STD's resolve themselves within a few months even without treatment, but other medical and government websites specifically say the exact opposite and say only way to get rid of infection is to seek treatment. Which is it?

I currently take both - one for anxiety and the other because I have PVCs and tachycardia (which causes the anxiety). I am now estimated 6 weeks pregnant, and am having to make the decision about wether or not to come off my meds. I am in the process of weighing my pros and cons, but wonder if any other moms have been on any meds while pregnant. I would appreciate any input.

I went to the clinic and the doctor thinks it is a type of strep throat. They gave me Biaxin XL and i started it today. I did not tell her about my situation from 3 weeks ago. With those symptoms, does this have any possible relation to HIV?

I had 2 women perform oral sex on me and about 2-3 months later I had a chest cold and my doctor gave me biaxin 2x500mg a day for 10 days. then a few months later had amoxicillian 3x500mg a day for 10 days for another unrelated infection (my docs loves to give antibiotics) If I did get a std like gonnerea or clymidia or anything else that is bacterial would the biaxin get rid of it?...keep in mind I have had no unprotested sexual intercourse just received oral from a women.

they are cyst-busters. I was on biaxin for that purpose (along with another med to kill the bugs after they came out of the cyst), but had a reaction to it after several months; so the dr switched me to flagyl and a different antibiotic. It's a fair question why the dr would give you two cyst busters. Sounds like a lot. Good luck with the new job!! Sounds like a good one.

the doctor and I decided that I should try a differnt antibiotic so we switched to the Generic form of Biaxin.... Clarithromycin...... I was on it for 2 months and dropped 18 pounds and 3/4 of my hair..... we pulled out what was in the shower drain alone and you could of made a wig out of it pretty much...... the only other symptoms I had while on this medicine apart from the hair loss is that my hands would swell and night......I had excessive bruising all over.....

I am wondering if he might have pneumonia, and if so, can he take Biaxin XL? I know he should be taken to a vet, but with these economic times, we just don't have the money. I am hoping for some help to make him better so I don't have to give him up or put him down. This is an urgent matter as he does not seem to be suffering yet, but I can't let him. My testing for lyme is still coming up positive and there were more positive bands and stronger ones than my last test three months ago. He said that the meds I'm currently are on do not treat lyme. After this course of meds, I am switching to Amox & Biaxin to begin treating the lyme. My CD57 shot up from like 20 to 87 though! That is the highest it's been in a long time so that is good news! The last few days, I seem to be feeling a bit better.

Last week I was diagnosed with a duodenal ulcer and am taking Amoxicillin, Biaxin and Prevacid. I am one week into treatment and feel only marginally better. My question is about stomach tenderness. Is a tender stomach normal with a peptic ulcer? My entire stomach area, from just below my breasts, down to my navel, is very tender to the touch. When touched it produces like a burning/stinging/bruised feeling. Depending on the day, or time of the day, the pain is greater or less.

Depending on the dose/strength its duration is 12-24 hours... its Pregnancy category is C which means "animal studies have shown an adverse effect and there are no adequate and well controlled studies in pregnant woman OR No animal studies have been conducted and there are no adequate or well known studies in pregnant woman"... so pretty much the effects really are not known or there have been effects shown but not much has been looked into it...

My LLMD is changing my antibiotic treatment to Omnicef and Biaxin for 3 more months. Mainly because he believes Flagyl was responsible for my hormone imbalance and I wasn't able to keep it down since I got the flu. Has anyone been treated with this combination? It's the first time I have hear about it, but I have taken these before for other infections and did just fine. I am hopeful since my CD57 has gone up from 23 to 56. However, my IgM results show more Lyme.

I was on avalide, toprol xl, procardia xl along with the norpace and had to take potassium because it would go too low for the norpace. I have not been able to take avalide since the episode and am now on Avapro which works bettermost of the time than using avalide. None of this makes sense to me or to my doctors since I should be back where this all began the middle of March when I took this antibiotic and had this episode.

Not sure where the rest of post is. Day 2 - 500mg Clarithromycin & Amox 875mg that night. This morning took 500mg of both Clarithromycin & Amox, and Ceftiaxone 1gm IV. I am aware of CDC guidelines and think that this single dose of rocephin & a total of 5gm of Biaxin over 4-5 days (in place of Azithromycin) should be effective? How long should I wait to engage in intercourse with my significant other?

Thanks for the answer...just one last point, the biaxin and amoxicilian were taken at different times around 2-3 months apart. Biaxin was for a Resp infection and the amoxicilian was for my saliva gland issue. These all have been taken throughtout the last year since exposure. Would Biaxin or amoxicial cure syphlis by themselves?. no more questions from me so I would like to thank you for your time!.

Hi! If you were my patient, I would advise you that there shouldn't be any contraindication to taking Ibuprofen, Acetominophen or Aleve with those two medications. Hope that helps!
