I have this tightness in my chest i kno its mucus but i dont have a cough or cold it hurts when i try to take a deep breath ive never had chest congestion before im not coughing up blood or anything like that. ive been using my asthma pump because when i was younger i had trouble with asthma it helps clearing my airways so i can breath easier but it comes back after awhile. Help?
Have been experiencing recent burning chest, back & limb discomfort corresponding almost precisely to descriptions I've read about costochondritis. It began shortly after a long, hard day of strenuous outdoor activity in cold, dry air. Could all the huffing & puffing in the cold have triggered this, and how long might it take to resolve ? I am almost 10wks and have come down with a cold. Sinus pressure, coughing and chest pain. For my previous pregnancies my ob said i could take plain mucinex. So i took it a couple if days this week and it has not really helped. So when looking for other options online I'm reading that you cannot take ANYTHING during the first trimester. So now I'm sick and scared since I've taken the, mucinex already and have also taken dramamine a few times due to dizziness and nausea.
(I had similar a couple of years ago which turned into a nasty cold and chest infection, so whether you see a doctor, get cold/flu/allergy tabs or use a saline rinse, it would pay to try to control it)....
I don't know whether it's anything to do with the meds but I suspect your body is perhaps still vulnerable.
I got my flu shot two months ago and I have itchy ears on the inside that's impossible to itch my chest is itchy and kinda hard to breathe. And I have a cough :-( I hope it doesn't hurt the baby.
Get you a vaporizer! Rub vicks on your chest & stay warm. I had a really bad cold abt a month and a half ago but I made it just fine. I wouldn't worry too much abt it unless you're running a fever. Back when I was abt 6 months far along, I had a kidney infection with serious fevers. We made it just fine. In the hospital, but my baby and I are just fine!
i have had a cold for seven weeks. started with chest congestion and cough then moved to sinuses. lots of pressure in cheek bones and behind eyes. lots of fluid thru coughing and nose, was green now is clear. occassional ear clogging as well. took augment during fourth week for ten days. no relief of symptoms. never had a cold last more than a few days ever. i am normal healthy 34 yr old woman...now what?
If it's allergy related you can take Claritin... Or however it is spelled. If it's cold related really you can only take Tylenol cold and flu. Web MD has a list... Here is the link

so im a 15 year old girl, and lately ive had these AWFUL pains in my upper chest and lungs when i breathe deeply....sometimes it can hurt really bad then slowly go away, but leaves it feeling very tight, and sometimes difficult to breathe. i live on the big island of hawaii, and there is always "vog" from the volcano, which is like a real thick, hazy fog. could that have anything to do with it? any sugestions, ideas or opinions on what this could possibly be are very welcome.
Make sure you son't have a secondary infection like pneumonia or you could have asthma related to your post cold.
I have a quick question....I'm 33 weeks along and have just developed a nasty cold which seems to be settling in my chest. My doc said I could take Robitussin Plain....the only one I could find that resembled that is Robitussin Cough and Chest Congestion and is alcohol-free. Do you all think this is okay to take? Trying to get a hold of the doctor but just wanted everyone's opinion.

yes u need to take her to the doctor it sounds like she has a infection.your baby is sick go get her medical treatment!!! don't just wait around to see what happends go find out!!!
I was given a pneumonia shot going into treatment (for 21 strains). It's probably a coincidence, but I got a really bad chest cough at the same time.
And throughout treatment people asked if I had a cold cause I was always stuffed up and coughing. I told them it was allergies (didn't want anyone thinking I was going to give them something.) I still get stuffed up but it's not constant like it was on treatment. I'm six week post treatment.
I'm 35 weeks with a cold and sore throat , what could I do to treat this ?
My girls had this chest cold type thing. Theirs only lasted two days, well I caught it. And I've now had it for 6 days.. bcuz I have asthma, wheezing horribly, short of breath, coughing, I called my baby doc and asked him what I could take.. he said just tylenol and he called me in an antibiotic! Not sure if its gonna work or not I have to call him Monday and let him know.
