Hello,Im a male taking Avodart for hair loss but im worried,by what the information is regarding pregnancy.
My question is can i still try to conceive while im taking avodart.
How will this medication effect my sperm count and also will my sperm have this medicine in them.
Will it cause a birth defect if I should get my girlfriend pregnant.
Also if we try for a child how long will it take for the tablets to be out of my stysem
Any help would be very much appriecated..

I take Avodart (Dutasteride) 0.5 mg tabs twice a week for the past 6 months. I lowered the dose when I developed gynecomastia (breast tissue). Avodart has a long half life. Will it still work to help my benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)? I have been taking Avodart for 5 years and it has been very helpful.
ve been hypo for almost two years and never lost a hair. Stress can cause hair loss as well as vitamin defiecency. Please try not to worry. We all have very different symptoms. I will say that my outer eyebrows are gone but have been gone for years. My sister said when her levels got better her eyebrows grew back. I'm 68 years old and have had Cataracts for over 2 years. I've been taking Avodart for over a year. Should I stop taking Avodart and wait awhile before cataract surgery or will the informed Dr be able to work with my eyes? I've never taken Flomax and have heard the warnings from the commercial and read about Flomax. I'm concerned about any complications.
I'm also pretty active. Can I still swim after surgery and what are the chances of the lens shifting or coming loose?
We have to have our prostate shrunk and medication that does it can also affect our penis. Have you had much shrinkage? Shrinkage can happen for different reasons. Even getting older an cause it, smoking, taking various medications (not just avodart), gaining weight, etc. Do you find you also have erectile dysfunction? Avodart, unfortunately, is associated with these side effects. It's unclear though how long they will last. What does your doctor say? What prompted starting the med?
It sounds like hypothyroid issues to me with the cold hands, hair loss and insomnia. I had a myriad of symptoms for two years, seeing several different doctors, all who just wanted to prescribe anti anxiety meds and send me on my way. i was hypothyroid for a while now my levels are normal, i stopped synthroid becuase it makes me feel very sick nad im off it i feel at bit better but still having alot of symptoms of hypothyroidism. i recently developed bad anxiety, my hair loss is still persistent (it never stopped), i have trouble sleeping and im depressed all the time with constant headaches. has anyone who taken cytomel gotten any relief? i read somewhere people said that they took it and they felt great.

Awhile back I thought I was going to have to go on SOC and went to the postings about hair loss for advice and recommendations. When I thought I would need chemo that induced hair loss, I purchased a wig from WIGS.COM much to my regret. In my opinion this is a terrible company with poor business practices and an inferior product especially for a first time wig customer. Epinions tends to agree with me although there are many overblown reviews from questionable sources. Go elsewhere!
I have tremendous respect for him, and he says that there is no evidence of any kind of pathology whatsoever, except for BPH (prostate is now at approximately 30 g after Avodart therapy for nearly three years). He attributes this burning sensation to aging and a possible symptom of pelvic inflammatory disease, however, it’s been relentless. I'm wondering if I could be in the beginning stages of prostate cancer. After adjusting for Avodart, PSA is well below the normal level of 3.
I say this because there are certain medications meant for men, like Avodart for enlarged prostate, that women are told not to even handle. They say so on the commercials for this medication. If women are told not to even handle Avodart, which would mean that it can be absorbed through the skin, I would think you may be right about the possibility of you absorbing the hormones from the IUD. But, I suspect some doctor may refute this, although I don't know why.
Hi Dave, thanks for answering. I am not really sure if this is herpes. My urologist shattered most of my hopes with that "85% sure it's herpes" comment. He's a top specialist in his field and he has been right about other stuff before. He said that I might have caught HSV long time ago and this is a recurrence, but previous tests in 2015 and now 2016 say I I didn't have antibodies before. Have you had problems like this with these virus of hell?
I am mastrubating for 20 years and used to use my hand to mastrubate and when the Penis does not stand I still mastrubate and ejaculate and I get the white semen, sometiems I do it 5 times a day and I have just plain liquid instead of sperm when I done this.
Now I am married now and despirately need help and want to have kids, can some one tell me if I stop mastrubating totally how long will it take for my penis to get fixed ?
