Avatar n tn It it unusual for regrowth to take this long? Can TE cause permanent hair loss? My understanding is that hair falls out when a new hair underneah pushes it out- if this is true, why am I not seeing new hair growth?
Avatar f tn I take it once a day. The trick is to drink it quickly before it thickens. My Daughter has also used it all of her big kid life. the stylist call her hair fur.
Avatar n tn bumping this up for others to post .........
Avatar f tn In regards to hair removal, any technique (including waxing) that does not “destroy” hair follicle (“root”) will result in hair regrowth. New generation of hair-reduction lasers are suitable to treat even patients with light colored hairs. Wishing You Optimal Health, Dr.
Avatar m tn I take Avodart (Dutasteride) 0.5 mg tabs twice a week for the past 6 months. I lowered the dose when I developed gynecomastia (breast tissue). Avodart has a long half life. Will it still work to help my benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)? I have been taking Avodart for 5 years and it has been very helpful.
Avatar f tn Hello...
Avatar f tn My eyelashes fell out and came back a couple of times...I think it's because those hairs are short lived and replace themselves pretty quickly. I always considered the first hair to regrow the "bad" hair.... it seems very brittle and not quite right. Once that grows out, the newer hair should be more normal. Congrats on the twins. I had my last little girl while on chemo.
Avatar m tn how i can get my hair,is there any best treatment for hair regroth.hair regrowth is possible or not?
Avatar n tn I experienced significant hair loss during the 3 months following the end of extended (48 week) Interferon/Ribovirin injection therapy, which I've learned is common. I'm interesting in knowing how long it normally takes for hair regrowth to happen, knowing that in some instances it doesn't. Also, is there any recommended action that can be taken to support hair regrowth?
Avatar f tn I am a 26-year-old female with no family history of female hair loss. Most men in my family also have their hair except for my father who has had some hair loss (but isn't completely bald). I recently saw a dermatologist for hair loss that had been occurring for a few years. He looked at my scalp and told me, after listening to my hair loss history, that it seemed to be early onset female pattern hair loss.
Avatar n tn Has your sister had medical help or diagnosis, it sound like alapecia to me
Avatar m tn Both of you are having problems with hair regrowth after treatments, if you are getting very thin and fine hair, then have it cut like what is called and Italian cut with a razor and very short that will give it strength for follicular oxygenation and take Biotin [H] a vitamin for hair regrowth. Please ask your doctors if you can take Biotin, if so then you will see it grow healthy and strong in a few months. Good luck.

Avatar n tn I lost my hair (approx 50%) in April this year. No regrowth yet, just some on the sides. It appears to be coming in "miniaturized", or skinny. When did the hair start to regrow, and did it also appear "miniaturized"?
Avatar n tn Is there ever miniaturization of the hair (thinner hair) with regrowth from Telogen Effluvium? If so, does the hair ever return to normal size? I lost about 1/2 of my hair from Telogen Effluvium. I have little regrowth which appears to be miniaturized, and some of the new hairs (about 4-6 inches long) are falling out. Will these hairs regrow, and should they return to normal density? Also, most of the miniaturization is on the sides; the crown looks normal. Thank you.
Avatar n tn he tried avodart for 1 year but not worked good for him thats why he stop and try another drug name proscar...
1464587 tn?1307491605 What meds are you on? Also, someone commented here recently (ewford?) about some types of infections that sometimes accompany Lyme (mycoplasma?) can cause termporary hair loss. You might try to search this forum for 'hair loss' if no one pops up with an answer. Sorry not to be more helpful.
Avatar n tn The pattern and quality of hair regrwoth after losing hair to chemotherapy can be varied and is different from one person to another. Most people would have thicker hair upon regrowth but like in your situation, some can grow thin sparse hair. It is indeed possible that this can be a lasting consequence of the chemotherapy. There are new technologies regarding hair regrowth and I'm sure your dermatologists know these.
Avatar f tn Hello all, I was recently diagnosed with PCOS, and I would just like to say thank you to everyone, I feel so much better reading everyone's stories and experiences, it lets me know I'm not alone. While I have many nasty symptoms from PCOS, my thinning/balding hair seems to be a big problem. I have probably lost almost half my hair at this point (almost all of it from the top of my head and hairline).
