Avatar f tn Just diagnosed with a 43% ejection fraction and my doctor prescribed Avapro. Is this the proper treatment?? He gave me samples of 150 mg tablets and said I could cut them in half and just take a half a pill once a day. What do you think about that?
786158 tn?1236397775 I have a long family history of heart disease and have high blod pressure (taking avapro) and gerd(taking protonix) I have noticed a frequency in the pvc's since i started the avapro and protonix. Do i need to do any further testing? Do you think that these pvc's are increasing do to the meds? Thanks so much!
Avatar n tn The medication prescribed to me is Avapro HCT 150mg/12.5mg (Irbesartan and hydrochlorothiazide) taken once daily (1 tablet) mainly to help ensure the blood pressure remains under 140 systolic, which is believed to help reduce the pressure on the aorta and root. I am booked in for a second opinion with another cardiologist next week mainly to re-assure myself and my wife (and kids) that things are chugging along okay.
Avatar m tn m a 35 YO Male. I have slight hypertension which I take 150 mg of Avapro for. I also have GERD for which I take 40MG of Nexium. About a month ago I started feeling very spacey / dizzy. Not so much a vertigo like dizziness. It was more of a "drunk" feeling. I also would get hot flashes, cold chills, occasional sweating, and red face / ears. I also sometimes have "head pressure" where it feels like someone is pushing on the top of my head with 2 fingers.

Avatar m tn Hx: Hubby 47 has had HBP for 1 year? systolic(136-150) dyastoic(104 118). Heart rate high 90's or 100 - 110. Took Avapro o/d x 1 month July/08. Stress test after second appt. was okay. Cholesterol ok. BP still up. ie: dyastolic 108 - 118. Ht rate 100 - 120. Hubbies father has MI at age 51 died. Hubbies bro at 49 had a massage coronary and died. (2002). Family doc doesn't seem concerned. I think his heart rate is too high. His dyastolic pressure is still high.
Avatar n tn I had been taking 150 mg of avapro for 10 years for high blood pressure. I recently lost 25 pounds and was able to maintain my blood pressure on 75 mg. in fact with a home machine my blood pressure is consistently low. It never goes above 106/70 and most often is 90-97/70-75. Would it be safe to stop taking the medication to see if I can keep the pressure from getting high? Or would it be safer to cut the pill in half and if so, for how long?
Avatar f tn Rash is mainly on left eye and one spot on cheek, small rash on right eye. I do sleep on left side. Other med is Avapro for HBP and I have been on that for 2 years. Thank you!
Avatar f tn I take avapro for blood pressure, immovane for sleep and now to quell the anxiety. I have frequent ophthalmic migraines (all sparkly lights, no pain) and have a pain migraine every two weeks or so. I can't get anyone to help me and with every week I am that much less functioning. Oh, I've also gained 40 lbs in six months; mostly belly fat. Please!! Any thoughts? Suggestions? Home remedies while I wait to get a doc to take me seriously?
Avatar m tn One day I ate some white rice, sugar suddenly fall to 8 mmol, then even a tiny piece of roti was dropping suddenly. Blood pressure increased, Took avapro, started eating more protein. But I did not get any medical support. Family doctor says, I do not know, hospital says go to family doctor. Family doctor did not give any specialist. However after 5 months, sugar settled between 8 mmol to 11 mmol without medicine. But I was eating less carb, mostly vegetable and rotein.
Avatar f tn This passed, but it did panic me somewhat. I am on Avapro for mild highpertension. A few days ago, while sitting on my couch, I experienced vertigo. I have never had this happen before. I execise regularly, currently training for a half-marathon. As a result I have lost around 30 pounds in the past 18 months. I have noticed a tingling in my fingers and a similar sensation in my head. I am also experiencing headaches every day that just seem to come about suddenly.
Avatar n tn A year ago, my doctor gave me Lescol/Fluvastatin to take because I am a high risk for heart disease due to genetics and diabetes. At that time my Lipids were within normal range. After a month, ALT/AST results were very elevated. and medication was discontinued. Since then, I've gone through ultrasound, HiDa Scan and finally diagnose of fatty liver. The Gastroenterologist recommended Liver Biopsy to check for liver damage.
Avatar m tn m on BP medication (avapro 150mg). My BP is usually in check running around 118/70. No family history of heart disease (except Dad passed away from cardiomyapthy, was determined to be a non-genetic virus that attacked his heart). I'm 30 years old, 5'11 195 lbs. I try to eat pretty healthy, lots of fruits and veggies. Exercise a few times a week. I've had the following tests done.

Avatar f tn Hey just wondering if any other mommas have problems with vertigo? Sometimes the baby moves so much that it makes me feel like I am on a boat about to be sea sick. Anyone else feel like that?

Avatar f tn whats the reason for itchy ears?
Avatar m tn I had an episode of what the ear specialist said was bppv vertigo. Had the maneuver performed and got better in about 2 weeks. Well about 3 months later I was at work and I bent down and felt off balance tried laying down and everything started spinning again I had the same symptoms as back in November but this time it doesn't go away. Some days I feel better than others but now I feel off balance and when I go to bed I get nauseous.
Avatar m tn Hello, and welcome! I had a friend awhile ack who had this, and it was awful for her - I'm so sorry you are going through this. I learned from her that the eye-twitch is a result of being dizzy, and dizziness can be caused by a problem with the inner-ear, which controls balance and your sense of up and down. Have you had your ears checked?
Avatar m tn I had vertigo for the 1st time ever in December 2014. Went to an ear specialist and was diagnosed with BPPV. Had a maneuver performed by the neurologist and seemed to have worked. I felt a little weird the days after the maneuver but eventually went away, but 2 months later the vertigo seems to be back. I've had this problem for over a month now and have no clue of what to do, I've had a ct scan, mri, and many visits to different doctors.
Avatar n tn Physiologic vertigo results from unfamiliar head movement (seasickness) or a mismatch between visual-propioceptive-vestibular system inputs (height vertigo, visual vertigo). True vertigo almost never occurs as a pre-syncopal symptom. Pathologic vertigo may be caused by a peripheral (labyrinth or eighth nerve). Distinguishing between these causes is the essential first step in diagnosis or central CNS lesion. What is the direction of associated nystagmus?
