ve tried to stop cold-turkey, I often have episodes of low blood sugar (shakes, sweats, confusion), so I end up back drinking sodas for fear of having another episode. I am guessing that I have been drinking sodas for so long that my body has increased the insulin production to keep up and if I stop, I have all that extra insulin in my body which causes the low blood sugar.
Is there a way to ween myself off of sodas without worrying about having a hypoglycemic episode?

The first day I ate nothing after I took the pill and only started feeling hungry when it was wearing off in time for the night pill. I want to go off norpace and try ternormin again since that is the first medication I was on when this first started in 1981. your blood sugar is low you need to eat! Orange juice with sugar mixed into it will help you and follow that with a protein snack, also take your blood sugar to see what it is. If it does not rise with in 15 mins drink some more orange juice. I hope this helps. you blood sugar should not stay permanently damaged and what ur are experiencing are side effects of hypoglycemia.
Hmmm, not everyone's side effects will be the same. In fact, you may not really have any side effects that you notice.
My side effects were:
racing heart - I lost about 5 lbs in 3 days.
skin sensitive to the touch.
feeling like I was beat up with a baseball bat on my back.
shaking.
and feeling like my achilles tendon was going to rip off.

You are taking antihyperglycemics and thyroid drugs and you should get evaluated for levels of thyroid and blood sugar regularly. You can apply an anti-itch cream or lotion to the affected area. Oral antihistamine, such as Benadryl can also be used. You should take a comfortably cool bath and wear smooth-textured cotton clothing. Covering the affected area with bandages and dressings can help protect the skin and prevent scratching.
