461781 tn?1285609481 05 AM ET Women who take two commonly-used fertility treatments, including the Sanofi Aventis pill Clomid, do not have a significantly better chance of getting pregnant than those who try naturally, British researchers said on Friday. This means doctors should rethink giving women the drug, known generically as clomiphene citrate, to stimulate the ovaries or administering a type of artificial insemination, said Siladitya Bhattacharya, who led the study.

Avatar n tn The medication prescribed to me is Avapro HCT 150mg/12.5mg (Irbesartan and hydrochlorothiazide) taken once daily (1 tablet) mainly to help ensure the blood pressure remains under 140 systolic, which is believed to help reduce the pressure on the aorta and root. I am booked in for a second opinion with another cardiologist next week mainly to re-assure myself and my wife (and kids) that things are chugging along okay.

Avatar n tn Try this site. It will list which programs she's eligible for. https://www.pparx.org/Intro.php If she has no income or insurance, she should be able to get her insulin from the manufacturers. I'm pretty sure that Sanofi Aventis (maker of Lantus) participates, as well as Novo. You have to apply directly to each company that carries the drug you need. Check and see if the strips manufacturers have programs. Some of them do. What type of meter does she use?

Avatar n tn I had been taking 150 mg of avapro for 10 years for high blood pressure. I recently lost 25 pounds and was able to maintain my blood pressure on 75 mg. in fact with a home machine my blood pressure is consistently low. It never goes above 106/70 and most often is 90-97/70-75. Would it be safe to stop taking the medication to see if I can keep the pressure from getting high? Or would it be safer to cut the pill in half and if so, for how long?

However after 5 months, sugar settled between 8 mmol to 11 mmol without medicine. But I was eating less carb, mostly vegetable and rotein.

Avatar n tn A year ago, my doctor gave me Lescol/Fluvastatin to take because I am a high risk for heart disease due to genetics and diabetes. At that time my Lipids were within normal range. After a month, ALT/AST results were very elevated. and medication was discontinued. Since then, I've gone through ultrasound, HiDa Scan and finally diagnose of fatty liver. The Gastroenterologist recommended Liver Biopsy to check for liver damage.
