Avatar f tn recurrence of PDR, diabetic macular edema, localized bleeding, localize leakage of cholesterol, large areas of ischemic retina. There is a classification system for PDR based on how many quadrants have PDR.

Avatar n tn The medication prescribed to me is Avapro HCT 150mg/12.5mg (Irbesartan and hydrochlorothiazide) taken once daily (1 tablet) mainly to help ensure the blood pressure remains under 140 systolic, which is believed to help reduce the pressure on the aorta and root. I am booked in for a second opinion with another cardiologist next week mainly to re-assure myself and my wife (and kids) that things are chugging along okay.
Avatar n tn Consult the "Blueblook" or PDR (Physician's Desk Reference) for information on the manufacturer of any drug. It's available in most libraries. But don't be surprised if they have no conversation with you. There is little other information than that which is in the PDR that they could provide you with.
Avatar f tn I was told that "more spots (laser spots/burns) may be necessary in inactive PDR due to macular edema or lipid leakage.
1672951 tn?1303944089 You have to check the PDR (Physician's Desk Reference) which every drug store has. Bring your prescription. This contains every prescription medication legally produced in the United States. The druggest should not have blown you off. Locate the manufacturer from the PDR and request the druggest to order the medication.

Avatar f tn I am type 2 and have been diagnosed with PDR in both eyes. I've been getting Lucentis injections and they have improved my vision. The retina specialist said there is a new drug about to get FDA approval and he thinks it will work better for me than Lucentis. Can anybody tell me anything about this drug? And what will it cost?
Avatar m tn Hx: Hubby 47 has had HBP for 1 year? systolic(136-150) dyastoic(104 118). Heart rate high 90's or 100 - 110. Took Avapro o/d x 1 month July/08. Stress test after second appt. was okay. Cholesterol ok. BP still up. ie: dyastolic 108 - 118. Ht rate 100 - 120. Hubbies father has MI at age 51 died. Hubbies bro at 49 had a massage coronary and died. (2002). Family doc doesn't seem concerned. I think his heart rate is too high. His dyastolic pressure is still high.
Avatar f tn Your story is very common almost normal for treatment of proliferative diabetic retinopathy PDR . First of all your FA, OCT and eye exam will not be normal. You have diabetic retinopathy almost assuredly background DR and your PDR is inactive. Laser doesn't "cure" you it can just for a time stop progression. Laser works by killing tissue and creating scars so you have laser marks and scars inside your eye.
Avatar n tn t know too much about international pharmaceuticals... but india has something called tranax. Is there any way to ID this pill? Perhaps an india PDR or something?
142841 tn?1201975052 I believe it is. You can always check the PDR for the package insert. I have not heard of any insurance issues with Infergen. Side effects are pretty rough, but if you are strong and motivated, you can do it. Good luck!
Avatar n tn I had been taking 150 mg of avapro for 10 years for high blood pressure. I recently lost 25 pounds and was able to maintain my blood pressure on 75 mg. in fact with a home machine my blood pressure is consistently low. It never goes above 106/70 and most often is 90-97/70-75. Would it be safe to stop taking the medication to see if I can keep the pressure from getting high? Or would it be safer to cut the pill in half and if so, for how long?
Avatar f tn Rash is mainly on left eye and one spot on cheek, small rash on right eye. I do sleep on left side. Other med is Avapro for HBP and I have been on that for 2 years. Thank you!
Avatar f tn I take avapro for blood pressure, immovane for sleep and now to quell the anxiety. I have frequent ophthalmic migraines (all sparkly lights, no pain) and have a pain migraine every two weeks or so. I can't get anyone to help me and with every week I am that much less functioning. Oh, I've also gained 40 lbs in six months; mostly belly fat. Please!! Any thoughts? Suggestions? Home remedies while I wait to get a doc to take me seriously?
Avatar f tn My PDR states that 3 of the medications I take can cause elevated blood sugars.
Avatar n tn I have taken up to 120mg of Cymbalta and never had hallucinations and I have never heard of anyone having hallucinations caused by Cymbalta. I looked it up in a PDR and hallucinations are not mentioned, not even one case. You will probably need an antipsychotic for the hallucinations if you continue to have them even when off Cymbalta.
Avatar m tn One day I ate some white rice, sugar suddenly fall to 8 mmol, then even a tiny piece of roti was dropping suddenly. Blood pressure increased, Took avapro, started eating more protein. But I did not get any medical support. Family doctor says, I do not know, hospital says go to family doctor. Family doctor did not give any specialist. However after 5 months, sugar settled between 8 mmol to 11 mmol without medicine. But I was eating less carb, mostly vegetable and rotein.
Avatar m tn The PDR says that after 2 weeks the dose needs to be titrated down - so YES you need to wean off

Avatar n tn A year ago, my doctor gave me Lescol/Fluvastatin to take because I am a high risk for heart disease due to genetics and diabetes. At that time my Lipids were within normal range. After a month, ALT/AST results were very elevated. and medication was discontinued. Since then, I've gone through ultrasound, HiDa Scan and finally diagnose of fatty liver. The Gastroenterologist recommended Liver Biopsy to check for liver damage.
