Avatar f tn Just diagnosed with a 43% ejection fraction and my doctor prescribed Avapro. Is this the proper treatment?? He gave me samples of 150 mg tablets and said I could cut them in half and just take a half a pill once a day. What do you think about that?
Avatar f tn muscle aches, joint pain randomly, severe tendinitis in my thumb, sharp quick jabs of pain in leg muscles, profuse sweating with very little exertion, extremely dry skin (the bottom of my feet peel off in pieces over two inches sometimes), no libido and no ability even if I did have the inclination (male--49 years old), frequent heartburn from lack of fluid yet I am now drinking water constantly. I can't work or focus on work, and my pre-existing hypertension is through the roof.
786158 tn?1236397775 I have a long family history of heart disease and have high blod pressure (taking avapro) and gerd(taking protonix) I have noticed a frequency in the pvc's since i started the avapro and protonix. Do i need to do any further testing? Do you think that these pvc's are increasing do to the meds? Thanks so much!
Avatar n tn The medication prescribed to me is Avapro HCT 150mg/12.5mg (Irbesartan and hydrochlorothiazide) taken once daily (1 tablet) mainly to help ensure the blood pressure remains under 140 systolic, which is believed to help reduce the pressure on the aorta and root. I am booked in for a second opinion with another cardiologist next week mainly to re-assure myself and my wife (and kids) that things are chugging along okay.
Avatar n tn My ankles are becomming increasingly swollen - no pain involved, just heaviness. They have gotten worse over this summer; however, when I visit sw Wisconsin, Hidden Valley area, when I stay a few days, my ankles become almost normal. I have also noticed a decrease when I spent a week up north in Ely, but home in Minneapolis, they swell daily quite badly. I have high blood pressure, take three meds.
Avatar m tn 108 Do I need to be concerned about the heart palps or chest pain? I do have high anxiety (because of the chest pain and palps), and others around me seem to think I'm anxious. I don't see it but they do. My cardiologist isnt concerned and told me to see him in a year. Should I seek more tests like a PET Scan? My doc doesnt think its needed and it exposes me to radiation. Thanks!

Avatar m tn Hx: Hubby 47 has had HBP for 1 year? systolic(136-150) dyastoic(104 118). Heart rate high 90's or 100 - 110. Took Avapro o/d x 1 month July/08. Stress test after second appt. was okay. Cholesterol ok. BP still up. ie: dyastolic 108 - 118. Ht rate 100 - 120. Hubbies father has MI at age 51 died. Hubbies bro at 49 had a massage coronary and died. (2002). Family doc doesn't seem concerned. I think his heart rate is too high. His dyastolic pressure is still high.
Avatar n tn I had been taking 150 mg of avapro for 10 years for high blood pressure. I recently lost 25 pounds and was able to maintain my blood pressure on 75 mg. in fact with a home machine my blood pressure is consistently low. It never goes above 106/70 and most often is 90-97/70-75. Would it be safe to stop taking the medication to see if I can keep the pressure from getting high? Or would it be safer to cut the pill in half and if so, for how long?
Avatar f tn Rash is mainly on left eye and one spot on cheek, small rash on right eye. I do sleep on left side. Other med is Avapro for HBP and I have been on that for 2 years. Thank you!
780647 tn?1304020942 if you have explainable chronic muscle pain you may want to talk to a Dr about fibromyalgia.
Avatar f tn Since MS is a disease of the central nervous system, it does not directly cause muscle pain. MS can cause neuropathic pain, or it can cause spasticity that can cause muscle pain. Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory and while it may address the pain due to inflammation, it does nothing for the "cause" and like ALL NSAIDs, it may increase cardiac risks (like the COX-2 inhibitors.) All drugs have side effects.
Avatar f tn I got to tell you honestly - I suffered alot - Kitty here and I had a duscussion about magnesium and I started it for bloating. Not only has it relieved my bloating issues but the joint /muscle pain and anxiety is almost gone. I was not sure if the magnesuim was the reason - I did some quick research and it is the known to resolve these issues. It was almost immediate - with in 3 to 4 days but I no longer need any meds for anxiety right now and I feel I can move again.
Avatar f tn My husband has severe muscle pain on his arms and legs, like muscle spasms, it comes and goes for no reason, he is also always tired and has shortness of breath, he is 42 years old and maintains a healthy weight, what can this be?
Avatar n tn When people say that they get muscle pains as a sign of early HIV infection, is that like a sore leg muscle with twitches and bad back (not from exercise but similar to those feelings) or is it aches and pains like if you have a fever and the flu? I am feeling isolated pains in my legs and am afraid it is ARS related. I had possible exposure about 3.5 weeks ago.
Avatar f tn I have swelling of the upper arm. It is muscle pain and began after I was inactive for 7 months and then became active again. My upper arms were swollen on the outer side first and I could not sleep on my sides because it was too sore. I went to a rheumatologist and was told I had frozen shoulder and should go to physical therapy. I felt that the reason I could not move my one arm was because my arm was swollen and it would go against that area and was painful when I moved it.
Avatar f tn However, about 3 days ago I started having really bad muscle pain, burning, and aches in my legs. My muscles all over my body will twitch when I am trying to go to sleep. This is really the only w/d symptom I have but why did it just start? Or is this a side effect from the sub?
Avatar f tn I am new to this board and hoping that someone can fill me in on the correct course of treatment for muscle pain that I am experiencing with my hypothyroidism and hashimotos disease. I am still on the course of find the right medicin and dosage for me. I started taking 1000 iu of Vitamin d3 but so far that hasn't helped. Is there any OTC meds I can take for this pain?
Avatar n tn Hi Ricky, There is a condition called myofascial pain syndrome. Simply put it is muscle pain. A rheumatologist can help with this diagnosis. I would begin there. HIV is extremely difficult to contract. The rates are very low. Obviously it is not impossible but you should try to relax. Stress and worry can cause all kinds of physical symptoms. Our mind can play tricks with out body. They are so connected. Good luck to you. Make that appt and ease your mind. Best of luck to you.
