December 16, 2016, diagnosed with UTI was placed on the antibiotic Bactrim, symptoms did not go away went to the walk in clinic they repeated the urine and it showed UTI. Placed me on Cipro symptoms were not any better,culture from walk in showed contamination so they wanted to repeat the specimen. Went to the clinic and gave a repeat specimen, it showed Entercoccus was placed on Augmentin. From research I have found that the only thing that works on Entercoccus bacteria is vancomycin.
About a week ago I started retaking Bactrim fom these deep pimples that I get on my back (I was on and off it a year ago for the same thing).
I noticed last night that I had a rash all over my penis (on the head and foreskin), slightly reddish raised bumps that did not hurt or itch or were even painful. There was no pus or discharge coming from them either. I put some cortizone 10 cream on it, and this morning I'd say about half of the bumps are gone, if not more.
But the amox, augmentin, keflex, and bactrim-ds oral that I was given four different times will not work. The bactrim-ds did seem to help but only after 5 days of taking and I felt worse the whole week of taking them. Is there a reason the Rocephin when IM or IV works but nothing else does? And why do all symptoms return 12-24 hours after?
20-year-old female with potato peeler cut on finger, got infected 2 weeks later with low-grade fevers, slowly resolved on Bactrim over 2 weeks, then afebrile, then similar lesion on OTHER hand in another superficial wound that seemed to get infected 2 weeks after the cut. Spread to the knuckle, mild cellulitis looking, joint involved, low-grade fevers, poor response to Bactrim. Has four fish tanks, works with cows/pigs in a muddy field, gardens, has 2 cats.
about 3 weeks ago i experienced vaginal burning/itching, went to gyno, swabbed for multiple stds, bacteria, and yeast. all came back negative, but he put me on 7 days of augmentin anyway. symptoms subsided. the morning after i took my last augmentin, i woke up with severe pain/cramping in my bladder and needed to urinate about every 20 min. got a home uti test, it was negative.
I have been packing it for two weeks with no improvement. I almost completed augmentin but developed a rash and was switched to Bactrim DS. I continue to have severe pain and see no signs of improvement. I am actively draining yellow to green pus that has a very slight odor which continues to increase. I have only had a couple of low grade temps, I'm fatigued, and generally feel unwell.
I am an RN and to me these are all signs that the mesh is preventing my incision from healing.
The infectious disease doctor did not want to treat them , in fear of me getting c-diff. Since 9/15 i have been on ceftin, bactrim, doxycycline, amoxycillin augmentin , zosyn, cetamadine, gentamyacin, zithromyacin and cypro. I just seen my pulmanologist due to a cough she gave me ceftin i finished that on 4/18/2016. She sent me for another sputum test , i did the test on 4/22/2016 . Now the results show the same infections above plus the pseudonomas still active.
First off I'll start with her history. She was hositalized with pyelonephritis 2-05 in both kidneys, I believe the right was worse as far as CT shown. Then she saw nephorologist a couple of times and had kidney ultrasound because he said it wasn't very common for a 13 yr old to have actual pyelo.
Now she is 16 and for the past few months she has had a kidney\bladder infection of some sort every month. She has complained of back pain almost daily for several years.

I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working.
I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. This is my first pregnancy and I am only 18.

Secondly, a doctor from the Middle East has published a recent study in a peer reviewed journal that followed 20 patients with GM and he claims that they were all cured using a specific antibiotic regimen (6 weeks of augmentin, followed by 2 weeks of metronidazole (400 mg three times a day). I know that we've all been on antibiotics for long periods of time, but has anyone stayed on the same antibiotic for six weeks?

It may be Augmentin or it may be something else. I think you should mention this to your doctor.
4 days on augmentin 825 for a chronic dental infection (now a bone infection), I started having major swelling in my hands. This is new, I've never had swelling like this. Yesterday my one hand looked freakishly red and swollen. It was so swollen, that when I straightened out my hand (which was difficult), everything turned white, inbetween the redness.
Anyway, I tried going off the augmentin (I'm taking it in conjunction with clindamycin), and today I feel much less swollen.
Well, your results will be interesting. You can have an infection that isn't MRSA or staph. My only experience with staph was my son who did get a nasty staph infection from a small rug burn type of injury on his leg at school. He bandaged it himself after showing it to me and I didn't really worry about it. A week later, wowza. It was a festering crater. We went to the doctor who gave a topical antibiotic cream.
