augmentin vs zithromax

anyone else have side effects AFTER STOPPING augmentin after the full 10 day dose? I have been off for two days and have awful sweating and hot flashes. I am male, and in relatively good shape. bp has been in the 140/70 range for three days. odd stuff. Ive usually had plain ole amoxicillin, but this stuff takes the cake.

so I took my STD test but before I got the result I panicked thinking of gonorrhea or syphilis and took Augmentin for 3 days. Now the tests are all negative but considering the window period for some STD, should I finish taking Augmentin as a precaution to get rid of the possible infection? Thank you.

i went to my doctor and told me that i may have chlamydia, so she gave me 1000mg of zithromax. I told her that i had gotten tested negative for all stds 2 weeks before. Im on my 3rd day of the treatment. I went to the urologist, and he told me that possible my testicles get a slight torsion but they unwrap each other. My questions are: 1) wouldnt the previous tests would have determined if i had any std's??

t, so 3 weeks ago I got a round of Zithromax. Felt worse on the Zithromax and had a 2nd round, this time augmentin, which just ended yesterday. The weakness, shakiness, aches, etc. started when I was on Zithromax as did the left cheek and neck swelling. The doctor said it was my eustachian tubes, but the pain radiates into my shoulder and down my back a little. At first I thought the augmentin helped all this.

I also got good news that I am to finish my current box of Bicillin (penicillin) shots and then switch to an oral long lasting Augmentin (penicillin). I took Augmentin 875 for a week when I first got sick, not knowing what I had, and I recovered from my severe flu-like symptoms in a couple of days. It worked great. I don't finish my shots until early January, but I am glad to know the end is in sight. I will no longer feel like a pin cushion!

all test came out negative, but heamophilus parainfluenza was found in a swab. the doctor gave me 1 gram of zithromax and 1 week of doxycycline 200mg per day, and 1 week of flagyl 600mg per day. the followed by 1 week of augmntin 2g per day to cure the haemophilus parainfluenze. My question is it is a month already and the redness still did not go away completely and my muscles still ache and my temperature is still at 37.2 to 37.3 C. Could this be a sign of HIV? or any kind of STD at all?

I went back to my original doctor and he gave me Augmentin (antibiotics). He said one of my tonsils are a little swollen.

I think he/she should have probably went in the direction of a broad-spectrum antibiotic, i.e. Amoxicillin vs. Zithromax. I have seen Zithromax ordered for Strep Throat, but not that often.

I always used the humidifier and rubbed my chest in really well with vicks rub. We can use that. Green tea with some honey, and breath in all the steam. That's all I've got. Wish I could offer some magic cure. If you end up with a fever, even low grade, call right away. I was very sick with a flu like illness at 6 weeks and I had an ear infection that wasn't going away. I was on augmentin for 10 days.

Definately go back to the doctor for a stronger prescription. Zithromax, in my opinion, doesn't work all that well. I am a nurse and work in an urgent care where it seems like people who are treated with Zithromax always end up coming back a week later still feeling sick. Go get some Augmentin or Biaxin XL--you'll feel better soon!

Augmentin, zithromax, ciprobay and histamed , but the symptoms of hemoptysis go away during treatment , and reccurent the first week after treatment.

I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working. I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. My lung Doctor called me in some augmentin because I have been coughing up thick yellow mucus. I just don't know if I can take it on treatment. Does anyone know??

Also, because he saw I didn’t seem convinced, he just gave me 2g of Zithromax (8 tablets) which he said would take care of Gono and Chlamydia if I had it. I took it in one shot. I came to this reputed site for a second opinion. i) Does this event carry any risk for HIV or any STD? Would you recommend any testing? I’m thinking of doing a HIV Duo test at 28 days and a VDRL ii) Assuming I had a RECTAL infection from this, would 2g of Zithromax clear Gono and Chlamydia?
