I took it for 5 days. I took an ultrasound of the abdomen and the doctor said no appendicitis. But I pestered him with questions about my symptoms. He then took a screening CT in the lab and gave the report as Chronic appendicitis with 7mm thickness. Ficolith inside the appendicitis and advised to remove it whenever you feel free but not an emergency. The Gastroenterologist was not convinced and he asked me to take a Contrast enhanced CT.

You have a normal pelvic ultrasound. I'd be interested in your physical exam. If your exam findings were as unremarkable as your ultrasound I'd begin to think of non-gynecologic causes of your symptoms, specifically gastro-intestinal causes. Have you had a colonoscopy yet? If not, initial screening is recommend at age 50.
now i am developing the same pain again after about 20 hours, so i want to ask can it be appendicitis even if ultrasound doesnt show it? one of my friend got operated last month, she was having the same pain but ultrasound didnt show anything even then she got operated n now is fine!
If pulse is more than 80 and blood shows high TLC counts, is suggestive of appendicitis. In case of ureter stone, urine usually shows infection and ultrasound is diagnostic, pain is usually radiating in nature.
Well colon pain is colicky or dull in nature, do you have recent history of diarrhea?

Findings:
The uterus is anteverted measuring 7.8 x 5.4 x 5.6 cm., with an intrauterine gestational sac, of 0.5 cm., compatible with 4 weeks 3 days predicted age og gestation.
The right ovary measures 3.6 x 2.1 cm and the left measures 3.0 x 2.0 cm.
Minimal cul-de-sac fluid noted.
Conclusion:
Anembryonic intrauterine gestational sac, of about 4 weeks 3 days aog by
MSD.

yet the surgeon didnt think it was SEVERE enough to operate. then the ultrasound (after the Cipro and Flagyl) says
"The appendix is seen in the right lower quadrant, measures no more than 3 mm in thickness, is not hypervascular, and appears compresable.
I had asked if it was appendicitis, but the doctor said it was not. But I am wondering what else it could be then or do you think the doctor misdiagnosed?
A calcified concretion in the appendix considered diagnostic of appendicitis in the acute abdomen.
Around 2 weeks back, I went my GP to get it checked as the pain increased. She did ultrasound, suspected to be appendix. The US showed appendix visible, nabothian cyst in utetus , mild pelvic fluid, equivocal finding for appendix. My GP ordered CT to confirm appendix. She told mild pelvic fluid could be due to appendicitis. I did my CT yesterday, a week after US.

Also, I WOULD ask for an ultrasound because that's how my first ovarian cyst rupture presented!
My relative (82 years old man), had a fever of 39 deg C one night and pain in lower right abdomen, and ultrasound showed his intestines at this part to be swollen and infected (the doc suspected appendicitis, but it was not), and he is currently on antibiotics and panadol right now. It hurts to walk and I must sit down with great care, I have performed some of the tests for appendicitis such as lying supine with my right leg bent and pushing over to the left...this results in much pain. Having been an EMT for many years I understand this could be appendicitis, however, I am confused about the pain free lapses. I live in the middle of no where with poor hospitals about 2 and a half hours away.
m surprised your doctor just gave you drugs for an appendicitis-- true appendicitis almost always needs surgery. Have you had your appendix looked at since then? Ask for an ultrasound or a colonoscopy. In some really rare cases, an infected appendix can lead to infection elsewhere in your abdomen/pelvis, including muscles outside your digestive tract (which might explain the pain when running).
Ok I'm driving myself crazy with research on my thyroid nodule. I have had a FNA & ultrasound. I am waiting for the FNA results (its making me crazy waiting) but here is what my ultrasound report said - any input?
Enlarged thyroid gland. 2.9 x 1.3 x 1.9cm complex cystic mass of the mid to lower pole ofthe right lobe. It contains thick internal septations which are vascular, multiple punctate microcalcifications are present.
Does any of that mean anything bad?
I just had two mammograms and an ultrasound and received a report that said the following:
MLO projection shows a persistent, well circumscribed nodular density in the inner lower quadrant of the right breast. On the 90 lateral projection, the density is seen in the lower breast. Ultrasound of the density was performed. At 5:00, 5 cm from the nipple there is a 7x5x3 mm solid, well-defined hypoechoic mass. The borders are smooth and well-defined.
ve searched for my simptoms online. This way I found out about stump appendicitis and I got mortified it could be that. Could the CT scan have missed it? All the other organs seemed fine.
Last year, I didn't develop fever or vomiting with my appendicitis, reason why it was hard to diagnose, especially because it was behind my ceccum (for 1 month doctors suspected ovary pain...until my appendix burst). Can this time be stump appendicitis and doctors mistake it for cysts again??
4. Appendicitis goes with nausea, vomiting and raised leukocytes in the blood. Appendicitis is painfull at any time you press on area. Bouncing sign is present: lye down on the back and press deeply sopmewhere on your lower LEFT abdomen, then release the pressure quickly. In peritonitis or appendicitis you should feel a sharp pain on the LRQ area. Peritonitis would also show marked inflammation in the blood.
I am a veteran last Thursday was brought to an outside VA ER for lower right quadrant stomach pain. They did lab work everything okay my WBC was 10.29 no fever. They did an Ultrasound which was highly susceptible for appendicitis it showed that it was not compressable, had minimal hypermiea, I was very tender and showed top normally enlarged.
Last week I suffered from appendicitis and my doctor cured me by administering antibiotics. Now have a relief the inflamation is gone. But from today morning I am suffering pain in the groin area which is similar to the pain I suffered for appendicitis
I wanted to know that is the pain caused by Fungal infection or medicinal reaction which was provided for appendicitis.
I have not experienced similar pain in groin area before and there is no blister or rashes.

I have joined this community in the hope that someone can help me! I am a female, 25 years old and I have been suffering from abdominal pain for years. The pain is usually in the right side, mid-way between my bellybutton and my hip. At times the pain is sharp and stabbing and causes me to double over in pain - I would give it a 7 out of 10 for intensity. Other times the pain on my right side is dull and aching, and sometimes this is replaced with a burning sensation.
i want kno what is the explanation of this findings or do i need to remove this mass..BREAST ULTRASOUND REPORT

8. they ran a series of xrays and ultrasound which all pointed to appendicitis. doctor orderered a emergency appendectomy,by the time doctors were in his appendix had already ruptured.
-My question here is, if a ultrasound was done at the other er to find that it indeed was appendicitis could it have been caught in time before it ruptured?
4 days after the appendectomy my son had to be rushed back into the OR for obstruction of his bowels.
Then over the past year it became more frequent until 55 days ago when it never went away. So far the doctors have done multiple blood/stool tests w no abnormal findings. He was referred to the childrens hospital where they listened to his tummy with a stethoscope and said possible constipation. They put him on mirolax, and an anti nadeau med and an anti spasm med for the stomach.
They said that they could be possilbe cysts or intramammory nodes. What does that mean? I am having an ultrasound on June 12th. Is this something I should be worried about.
