now i am developing the same pain again after about 20 hours, so i want to ask can it be appendicitis even if ultrasound doesnt show it? one of my friend got operated last month, she was having the same pain but ultrasound didnt show anything even then she got operated n now is fine!
If pulse is more than 80 and blood shows high TLC counts, is suggestive of appendicitis. In case of ureter stone, urine usually shows infection and ultrasound is diagnostic, pain is usually radiating in nature.
Well colon pain is colicky or dull in nature, do you have recent history of diarrhea?

When I brought her in she had a fever of 99.8 and was shaking because she had the chills and she was very pale. They sent us home and said if the pain comes back to bring her back in. d been suffering from a fever, lower/midline abdominal pain on my right side, and severe diarrhea for several days, and was told by my doctor to go to the ER to rule out appendicitis. Besides my signs/symptoms, the only abnormal finding was a slightly enlarged appendix in the ultrasound and CT. I was told to keep an eye out for things, and to go back asap if things got worse- which they likely would within a reasonably short amount of time.
As soon as she left the bedside, I told my ex I still thought it was appendicitis. The surgeon got there and heard the story, saw the white count, and examined him. He said it was gangrenous appendicitis and started an IV. Then after 6 hours or something he took out his appendix.
So yeah, it can be confusing sometimes. The thing they most often confuse it with is diverticulitis. That can be even worse than appendicitis though.
Most of the time appendicitis will find relief with pressure and (sadly) extreme pain when pressure is released. Also, I WOULD ask for an ultrasound because that's how my first ovarian cyst rupture presented!
My relative (82 years old man), had a fever of 39 deg C one night and pain in lower right abdomen, and ultrasound showed his intestines at this part to be swollen and infected (the doc suspected appendicitis, but it was not), and he is currently on antibiotics and panadol right now. m surprised your doctor just gave you drugs for an appendicitis-- true appendicitis almost always needs surgery. Have you had your appendix looked at since then? Ask for an ultrasound or a colonoscopy. In some really rare cases, an infected appendix can lead to infection elsewhere in your abdomen/pelvis, including muscles outside your digestive tract (which might explain the pain when running).
I took it for 5 days. I took an ultrasound of the abdomen and the doctor said no appendicitis. But I pestered him with questions about my symptoms. He then took a screening CT in the lab and gave the report as Chronic appendicitis with 7mm thickness. Ficolith inside the appendicitis and advised to remove it whenever you feel free but not an emergency. The Gastroenterologist was not convinced and he asked me to take a Contrast enhanced CT.
ve searched for my simptoms online. This way I found out about stump appendicitis and I got mortified it could be that. Could the CT scan have missed it? All the other organs seemed fine.

I will try to cut out fatty foods and see if that relieves the pain. Abdominal ultrasound scheduled November 14th, pain started September and has gradually gotten worse.
They did an Ultrasound which was highly susceptible for appendicitis it showed that it was not compressable, had minimal hypermiea, I was very tender and showed top normally enlarged. So since on Ultrasound it was highly showed appendicitis they took me right away to have a CT Scan with contrast which didn’t show any inflammation of appendix but showed two cysts on right ovary largest measures 2.1cm. So doctor in ER confirmed that my right quadrant stomach pain is due to the cysts.
Last week I suffered from appendicitis and my doctor cured me by administering antibiotics. Now have a relief the inflamation is gone. But from today morning I am suffering pain in the groin area which is similar to the pain I suffered for appendicitis
I wanted to know that is the pain caused by Fungal infection or medicinal reaction which was provided for appendicitis.
I have not experienced similar pain in groin area before and there is no blister or rashes.
I went to the emergency room again and they finally did a scan and discovered that it was chronic appendicitis. If I were you, next time it happens I would refuse to leave until they gave you a scan.

-My question here is, if a ultrasound was done at the other er to find that it indeed was appendicitis could it have been caught in time before it ruptured?

I spent 5 days in the hospital in January because of a ruptured right ovarian cyst. They thought appendicitis and found the cyst after a colonoscopy. This month my period was 3 weeks late. I recently finished it. I had my tubes tied in November. I have a history of 2 ectopic pregnancies. Never had other female problems like cysts. For the past 3 weeks I've had left lower abdominal pain and burning in the rest of my abdomen. I have no bowel problems.
When in the ER, they did a pelvic exam to rule out PID, and were going to do an ultrasound to rule out appendicitis but decided not to when my bloodwork came back and my white blood cell count was only slightly elevated.

You were right in suspecting appendicitis and kidney stones. Kidney stones can persist for years and cause symptoms only when they start moving. They can move, cause pain and again remain in a position for long periods of time. Similarly chronic appendicitis too can behave this way with bouts of pain, localization of infection and inflammation and a symptom free period.
Diagnosis is by abdominal ultrasound and serum amylase and lipase levels. Treatment is started after consultation from a gastroenterologist.
The morning stiffness and the pain in the joints is not related to the abdominal pain.It may be due to fibromyalgia or arthritis.Pls consult an orthopaedician to find out the confirmatory diagnosis as its treatment depends on the same.

Thanks...I don't have alot of pain just alot of grumbles on that side now...It doesn't hurt when I push on it. I had a CTof my abd done and an ultrasound. My anxiety is through the roof right now and I'm already on ativan and 50 mgs of Zoloft daily. I am obsessed with it mow...I need to relax...I have been called a hypochondriac and I won't deny that my thoughts on my health are a little obsessive.
Exactly 4 weeks later I developed appendicitis and had it removed via laparoscopic surgery, the surgeon said it was "messy in there". I have had no other symptoms suggestive of HIV.
My concern is the appendicitis was due to lymphoid hyperplasia (swollen lymph tissue) caused from a viral infection (HIV) given it occurred so soon after exposure.
It seems a bit out there to consider them related however I do see it as a possibility, but was unable to find any studies to confirm.
