Common Questions and Answers about Appendicitis pain constant

appendicitis

Avatar n tn When I had appendecitis I woke up in pain with a lot of abdominal pressure and was admitted for surgery that day. It felt like I was really constipated or something (sorry TMI), and was nauseous. It sounds like the pain you are having is more likely related to the pcos. I have had ovarian cysts in the past and it felt a lot like what you are describing. I'm not an expert, just my personal experience.
1661682 tn?1313135396 I woke up this morning with a dull pain in my lower abdomin. Its a constant pain had it for nearly an hour now. Its not that painful but its annoying. Not sure if I should be worried. Should I get checked or leave it n see if it gets worse. I don't want to pull my bf or mam from work for nothing. The pain is mainly on my right side. I don't no if its labour pains cause on my 1st my waters broke 1st n then had strong pains. These are just mild and constant.

Avatar m tn If you are getting right sided pain, it could be due to appendicitis, that’s when you have pain on the right side just above the pelvis and you may also have referred pain around the umbilicus (belly button). The pain in appendicitis generally starts around the umbilicus and moves to the lower right quadrant of the abdomen. The other symptoms for Appendicitis are fever, nausea, vomiting and malaise.
Avatar n tn i have been having constant sharp pains in the right side lower right side of stomach hurts to walk , stand up straight, hurts to breath or cough, even laying down what could this be?
Avatar m tn Actually I am male. Anyway, I went to the doctor today, and after normal blood and urine tests, all the doctor could say was that it may be appendicitis or sore muscles. I really don't think it is appendicitis. She said if it gets worst to go to the E.R. I was wondering, since the pain is not constant and there doesn't seem to be a consistent thing that causes the pain (again the pain is mostly in the groin and right on the side) how much of that is a chance at appendicitis?
Avatar f tn SINCE THE BEGINNING OF SUMMER I HAVE NOTICED, CONSTANT ABDOMINAL PAIN, BEGINNING ON MY RIGHT SIDE, GOING DOWN TO THE LOWER RIGHT ABDOMEN... I GET SHARP SHOOTING PAINS AT TIMES, NO FEVER, CONSTANT NAUSEA, NO VOMITING, VERY FATIGUED, SOMETIMES DIARERHHA, OTHERWISE NORMAL BOWEL MOVEMENTS. I HAVE CELIACS DISEASE, SEE A GASTROENTEROLOGIST... I HAVE HAD CT SCANS WITH CONTRAST DONE, ALOT OF LAB TESTING, A KIDNEY SONO, HAVE HAD TWO SEVERE UTI'S WHICH CLEARED UP...
9497408 tn?1404140019 On the surface, your symptoms sound like appendicitis. Your elevated temp, the referred pain, all points to that. Sometimes ultrasounds do not reveal the true issue - they are not detailed enough. Personally, I experienced appendicitis much like you are experiencing. The "twist" was I had a cyst in my intestine as well. It took surgery to locate the problem(s). No test - and I had them all - revealed the truth. Go to the hospital. They are probably thinking you are drug-seeking.
5154898 tn?1374773319 OK, I've been worried sick since about 4 days ago. It all started when i had a muscle spasm beside my belly button (right side), it lasted a whole day. I woke up the next day with a dull pain in the same spot, nothing really painful, just enough to worry me. Now, my lower front (right side), my right side and back on the right side has been aching.
Avatar m tn Abdominal pain) The pain may be minor at first, but it becomes more sharp and severe. Your appetite will be reduced and you may have nausea, vomiting, and a low fever. As the swelling in the appendix increases, the pain tends to move into your right lower abdomen. It focuses right above the appendix at a place called McBurney's point. This most often occurs 12 to 24 hours after the illness starts.
552053 tn?1273331741 My ex husband had the same thing that would come and go for a couple of years and then it became a constant pain that started to intensify. He finally gave up and went to the ER and was diagnosed with appendicitis - his appendix actually ended up bursting as they were removing it. Before that happened, I had no idea you could have what is considered "chronic" appendicitis, but his doctors said yes, it's actually more common than you would think.
611648 tn?1230567509 im a 15yr old female with constant lower right abdominal pain, ive had it for 9 months and have seen 4 different doctors including a peadiatrition. Avatar f tn This morning I woke up with a pain in my lower right abdomen. Its a constant dull pain, about a 4 or 5 on the 1-10 scale. The main pain is about directly 2-3inches to the left of my ASIS. It feels a little bit better when I'm sitting up instead of laying down. I have been going to the bathroom alot more than normal, but the stool is pretty normal, not diarhea.
Avatar n tn However if pressure was applied then released it was more painful after the release. The pain was constant at first then less frequent but still as intense. Her blood tests, CT scan and ultrasound were normal. She had not previously had a pelvic exam and is not sexually active. The doctor did a manual exam. The ultrasound was confined mainly to an external look. Her period started today and she was still experiencing pain.
Avatar f tn I have no fever or anything like that, nor am I having the typical rebound pain or any pain in my right lower stomach. It seems that the pain moves when I change position if that makes sense. Usually when I sit it moves in the lower area of my belly button, and when I lay down it moves to the upper area of my belly button. My stomach is constantly making gurgling noises and it feels like there are gas bubbles inside of me. I am really, really scared that something serious is going on with me.
Avatar f tn I am experiencing extreme pain 2 inches on the right from my naval and a constant dull aching pain in my flanks in the back in the sides non-stop today would be the 4th day of all this going on... everyone saying I should be at the ER but I am terrified of hospitals.
Avatar n tn I'm not an expert on all this. I just wanted you to know you are not alone. Maybe someone with answers will come along to help you. I have had kidney stones, though. That doesn't sound to me like what you are describing. Mine was constant pain until I passed them. I haven't had appendicitis. Don't know symptoms of that. I have had ovarian cysts but my paiin was not so intense as labor pains.
Avatar m tn He felt around for my hernia, took note of my symptoms, and said that my hernia was basically healed and that he thought that I could have appendicitis. This came as a surprise. He said that if the pain got any worse within the next day or two, or if the pain didn't go away at all, then we should go into the ER. The pain got slightly worse and a lot more frequent within the next 2 days so we decided not to risk it and go into the ER.
Avatar n tn My husband has been having moderate abdominal pain since Sunday night after a BM. He went to the ER where they did a CT scan and bloodwork (WBC, RBC, electrolytes, etc), in which everything was normal. He was discharged home. He was taking prednisone 10mg TID since that Saturday am (now d/c), so the hospital thought maybe the pain was due to the steroids. However, now being Thursday, he's still in pain. He said the pain was a 10 on Monday, and is now a 6.
7551604 tn?1392930411 Not from what I can tell. I can definitely tell if it were my son, the pain isn't constant when he is in my ribs. This is constant.
Avatar m tn Having been an EMT for many years I understand this could be appendicitis, however, I am confused about the pain free lapses. I live in the middle of no where with poor hospitals about 2 and a half hours away. I am hesitant to spend 5 hours in an ER and then having no pain when I am finally seen. Does it make sense to have classic appendicitis symptoms that go completely away for a few days at a time over a 3 month course?
Avatar f tn My sister told me if i had appendicitis, my pain would be getting worse cuz my aPpendix pain has been going for like 2 months now but only once the pain was severe and that was in the morning.
Avatar f tn Don't want to scare you but my sister had appendicitis, the pain started off as random sperts but suddenly got worse as the appendix started to split, she was rushed into hospital and they performed an emergancy opp. Some cases heal themselves, others don't like my sister's. I would ask another doctor; if they send you home again, just watch for ANY changes and monitor your temperature, urine colour and strength of pain over the next 2-3 days.
