appendicitis

Avatar n tn I am a 45 year old male in good health. However, I have experienced pain at my navel and it projects to the lower right side of my abdomin for several days. The navel is tender to the touch. I have had a normal bowel movements. I am a heavy coffee drinker and after drinking it, I often have to go to the bathroom right away. In the past, I have had a discharge from my navel but that is not the case at this time. Also, I have had a colonoscopy that failed to find any problems.
Avatar f tn I have been having a vague pain in my right abdomen to the right of the navel and sometimes a little bit to the right and below the navel the pain is sometimes like a pinching feeling ... along with the pain yesterday the 4th of october. I was feeling lightheaded most of the day. I have also lost at least 10 lbs. If not more unintentionally in the last month or two. .. What could this be ?
Avatar n tn See your OB-GYN and a Gastroenterologist. With appendicitis the pain normally starts around your navel and will move to the right and down, or vise versa so I don't feel it's that. But you do have intestines in that area, your bladder, and these are worth checking out. It may also be referred pain from your ovaries or fallopian tubes. Good luck with this and take care.
Avatar n tn re very young for this to be cancer. Have they checked you for appendicitis? It causes pain to go down your leg, and pain between your ovary area and navel. I have never heard of anyone having sciatica pain with colon cancer, I think this was more of a coincidence with the lady you speak of. A blood test would tell your doctor if this is appendicitis. I have seen cases where it lasts quite awhile before becoming really inflammed.
Avatar n tn Hi, I get this severe pain around and in my navel,it feels like my intestines are being tied into knots and being pulled from all directions.Once it starts i can't even walk or stand straight because it hurts even more, any idea what this might be? it's been happening for years i have seen two doctors but it seems they don't get what i'm talking about.
Avatar f tn Though I have not experienced the piercing pain ever after thatstill I have some persisting pain in the lower part of the abdomen radiating to the back and legs. The pain is very prominet at the mid back, lower abdomen above the navel on the right side and below the navel and the left side and on both thighs upto calves of the legs. I also feel a pushing pain the the groin while passing urine or motion (bearable pain).
Avatar f tn Hello everyone! I am a 17 year old girl and recently I have been feeling a bit under the weather. I have been experiencing nausea, gas, loss of appetite, and a deep pain in my stomach. Basically here's what has happened over the psst few days; Day 1: I went out to the movies and when I came home I noticed I was really tired and I also had a headache. I ate dinner as usual (I'm a growing girl!
Avatar m tn s gotten to the point where I now have a knot in the front lower left side of my abdomen that hurts severely by touch and some by movement, sharp stabbing pains in my navel area, sometimes directly behind or to the right side of my belly button, slight chest pains, and a bruise that has randomly appeared on the inside of my upper arm following a vein. The bruise came out of nowhere with no bodily harm having been done and appeared around the same time as the pain, and the knot came a day later.
Avatar f tn I have been referred to a surgeon, but not until next week, I was given no pain medicine other than Motrin. (although it has helped the pain a bit). I also have been having some nausea. The pain is also spreading above my belly button, the worst of it is when I bend. Also I am not pregnant but have not had my period for 2 months, I am a 25 year old female. What is could be happening to me?
Avatar f tn I had pain in the center of my abdominal area (around navel), could not eat certain foods without pain afterwards. I was told it was gastritis and irritable bowel syndrome. Antacids, pain medication did not relieve the pain. I had a cat scan done and found out it was chronic appendicitis causing the symptoms. My appendix did not just go out all of a sudden, it was a gradual process and just kept getting worst over the years.
Avatar m tn some time i feel itching and pain here, Next day it gets dry and hits the surrounding area as it becomes very hard (no wet material coming from naval). When ever I try to sleep feel unpleasant like some thing puling the naval inside.Similarly unpleasant feeling when need to make urine. My urine making frequency is also increased though I take hardly 4-5 glasses of water daily. I met a physician she said, no problem.
951267 tn?1246197239 s uncomfortable to sleep on my stomach, but not unbearable. I do have the appendicitis suspicion, but the pain has not moved at all. It's only the 1/4" circumfrence around my belly button. There is not stuff coming out of my belly button, or anything alarming like that. It's just this pain that has come and hijacked the area around my precious belly button! If anybody has ANY insight to my problem, please holler! Thank you!
Avatar m tn A few hours later, after watching television in bed, laying on my right side, I began to feel a very dull pain in my lower right abdomen about an inch or two to the right of my navel and it extends from about an inch above where the navel is to about half an inch below. It wasn't severe at all and just kind of came and went. The pain didn't get better or worse when I stood up, walked, touched the area or anything else that might trigger the pain.
Avatar f tn Did they check her for appendicitis? This can be a gradual thing that starts with pain around the navel moving to the right side. I'm glad you're insisting that you get answers!!!
Avatar f tn My back and hip, on right hand side also giving pain but none of which are sore to touch as the pain is radiating rather than severe in one spot. I have no other symptoms. I am average weight and suffer no allergies, take no medication and have a great diet. I have felt tired of late and run down so wondering if this is a low-grade kidney infection/stone or gall bladder problem. My family have history of IBS and Celiac but I have not had any symptoms of this of yet.
Avatar f tn Thirdly, appendicitis has to be ruled out. This possibility is rare as pain of appendicitis is severe and is associated with vomitings and fever. Fourthly, Crohn’s disease can be the cause of this pain. Crohn's disease most commonly affects the last part of the small intestine, usually located in the right lower abdomen. Diagnosed by barium enemas and colonoscopy.
Avatar f tn dull pain near navel (sometimes anywhere in ab or back area), fever 99-102, loss of appetite, inability to pass gas, painful urination, cramping (your appendix is on your right side). Also, my sister has fought kidney stones all her life and her pain is usually from the back to the front and can be all the way down to the groin area. Is there blood in your urine? The pain she gets is usually all of a sudden and intense. She's often passed out from the pain or is too weak to move.
Avatar n tn I thought of appendicits, which left untreated can be extremely dangerous, but you said she had cramping, and with appendicitis it is more of a sharp moving pain between the navel and right side. If not for the cramping, I would lean towards a virus, but not with the cramping. The Gatorade is excellent for replenishing her electrolytes and potassium, but orange juice is even better. Keep us posted as to how she is doing, I have a 37 year old daughter and I tend to worry too much about her.
Avatar f tn The first two times it began with slight pain in and above my navel and progressed to what appeared to be an infection. The area above my navel became red and hot and there was a large amount of greenish discharge from my navel. Both times I went to the doctor. Both times they had no idea what it was (other than the obvious infection), nor what caused it. I was put on antibiotics both times and it didn't seem to help.
Avatar m tn i want to ask question about my navel issues. i experienced minimal pain on ny navel whenever i sit down or stretch my body. After 4 days of the pain experience, i noticed some pink to dark red discharges (i think it is sort of blood) on my navel. Then 3 days after that i experienced the discharges i went to a physician. she prescribed me antibiotics Enhamox (Co-amoxiclav) BID for 10 days.
Avatar f tn ve had an ongoing pain in my right lower quadrant, hourly abdominal cramps (below navel) that have acute onset then stop accompanied with a urgent need to evacuate. It seems to get worse at night. This has been going on for four days now. I'm not in agonizing pain, but it's about a 6 out of 10. Evacuation has been slightly productive with largely gas, mucous, blood, and some very loose stool due to the frequency leading to no chance for solid build up. I've lost 2 or 3 lbs.
Avatar m tn Having been an EMT for many years I understand this could be appendicitis, however, I am confused about the pain free lapses. I live in the middle of no where with poor hospitals about 2 and a half hours away. I am hesitant to spend 5 hours in an ER and then having no pain when I am finally seen. Does it make sense to have classic appendicitis symptoms that go completely away for a few days at a time over a 3 month course?
Avatar f tn My sister told me if i had appendicitis, my pain would be getting worse cuz my aPpendix pain has been going for like 2 months now but only once the pain was severe and that was in the morning.
Avatar f tn Don't want to scare you but my sister had appendicitis, the pain started off as random sperts but suddenly got worse as the appendix started to split, she was rushed into hospital and they performed an emergancy opp. Some cases heal themselves, others don't like my sister's. I would ask another doctor; if they send you home again, just watch for ANY changes and monitor your temperature, urine colour and strength of pain over the next 2-3 days.
