Common Questions and Answers about Appendicitis in young children complications

appendicitis

Avatar f tn How old is your son? Are these baby teeth or adult teeth? I wouldn't pull any adult teeth unless absolutely necessary. Yes, the wisdom teeth could potentially fill in that space but there are complications with that. As the wisdom teeth come in, they don't move sideways into the space but rather, they tilt in and lean in sideways which causes problems with the jaw bone.
Avatar m tn t necessarily rule out appendix issues either - The symptoms of appendicitis can vary. It can be hard to diagnose appendicitis in young children, the elderly, and women of childbearing age. The first symptom is often pain around your belly button. (See: Abdominal pain) The pain may be minor at first, but it becomes more sharp and severe. Your appetite will be reduced and you may have nausea, vomiting, and a low fever.
Avatar m tn He told me that he had pain in his mid-abdomen when young too, not continuing, but on and off. And that he is very tired in the time period around his stroke until now. (start 2008) What could be the problem? Thank you so much!!
Avatar n tn Benign dermoid ovarian cysts uncommonly cause symptoms in young girls. It is estimated that they constitute 0.35% of all tumors occurring in children of both sexes less than 15 years of age. Symptoms produced by the cysts may mimic other intra-abdominal disease, and in three of the four cases reported in this series the girls were initially considered to have either acute appendicitis or infection of the urinary tract. All three had a pelvic mass palpable per rectum.
1661545 tn?1302685376 if she has appendicitis signs you take her to the ER. if that appendix bursts she's in a world of trouble.
Avatar m tn Is there any way I have chronic appendicitis that is coming and going? The pain is usually in the area of the appendix. Also as a side note, I had right side testicular pain that started up around the same time the abdominal pain started years back. Not sure if this is related as the pains seem to happen usually at different intervals.
Avatar f tn if a childs heart is 3 times the size in a post mortem..would this happen overnight? is being told your child is pigeon chested wrong?..especially when there was obvious clubbing of fingers and syanosis....is there any doctor out there that has any ethics anymore?
Avatar f tn They are kind of like Occupational Therapists that see the child weekly in all different environments, they use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy type methods for children, but they also are great support to the family aswell, acting as advocates and can refer to other people if necessary. My step son has mental health issues and we got the support above through the Paediatrician.
5739095 tn?1374690666 Hey ladies i hav a question an it may be a silly one but im a first time mom so im just curious if you been told the same thing... They have told me NOT to carry young children now that im pregnant... Anyone else???
Avatar f tn If it is appendicitis, it could be very risky to wait, as your appendix could burst, resulting in serious medical complications, or even death.
Avatar n tn I would worry more about the high myopia and consider consulting with a couple of well known pediatric ophthalmologists to see if they have any suggestions for slowing down it's progression. There are some controversial drops that may be considered but would have to be discussed with a competent pediatric ophthalmologist.
Avatar f tn Even women with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome can conceive. Cysts are mostly benign, especially in young women. They rarely turn out to be cancerous and they can either be monitored for a few weeks to see if they can go away on their own or with the help of birth control pills (or other meds) or they can be surgically removed, depending on the size of the cystic mass. Don't worry too much about the cysts, they are common among women and like I said, almost never anything to worry about.
464067 tn?1297298432 t provide too much insight into this except to say that a few years ago my cousin was in the same situation. She had 3 children and I think right about your age, and also wanted her tubes tied. She could not find a doctor that would agree to do it. I think it was mostly an ethical thing b/c they thought she was too young to make that kind of permanent decision, although I have also heard that the procedure has more complications for women under 30.
Avatar f tn (in children) In adults, this type of thing would show up as an Axis II personality disorder. In children, particularly 4 (very young for this kind of diagnosis, ADD/ADHD as well - and I would hold off on the meds until a second or third opinion is obtained..cheaper than treatment I'm sure...) ALSO - (I have personal experience in this - my 5 yr old girl had wild tantrums, and I was very worried,, and took her to different drs...
Avatar f tn I am in awe of younger women that have chosen to have children so early in life. I went to college, studied abroad, traveled every summer, started a career and got married. I did all of that by the time I was 24. I could have had children right away but I wanted to focus on career and have time with my husband, alone. That was all planned. Planning things was much easier when it was just the two of us.
Avatar f tn thank you for your reply iv read a report in BMJ saying an unusual cause of this as appendicitis would this have shown up in the ultra sound scans or is a CT scan the only way to see this
