About a month or two ago, I believe I had strained some muscles while working out. The pain didn't happen right away maybe one or two weeks afterwards. At first it stemmed from my neck, shoulders, and upper back. Soon after I started to feel pain in my chest, both sides right by my armpits, lower back, and abdomen area especially on my right side. The pain is usually sharp. When I do sit for a long period of time, both my right and left sides hurt but more on my right.
Severe cramping of the lower right abdominal cavity. Low grade fever. Took him to the hospital where it was confirmed he had appendicitis and underwent a successful laparoscopic appendectomy the following day. Released the day after (Sunday). Pain continued but not as severe and we just thought it was pain associated with the appendectomy however his fever began to rise and the pain intensified. By Tuesday evening we were back in the hospital.
My 9yr son just was in ER for right lower quad. pain,rebound tenderness, low grade fever, vomited x1, not wanting to eat very much. Initally thought was getting the stomach flu until he didn't persist with the vomiting or had diarrea. In ER Abdominal XRAY was done- results large amount of stool and gas on right side. He then took a screening CT in the lab and gave the report as Chronic appendicitis with 7mm thickness. Ficolith inside the appendicitis and advised to remove it whenever you feel free but not an emergency. The Gastroenterologist was not convinced and he asked me to take a Contrast enhanced CT. But the local doctor said it is not necessary and i don't have any acute episode and there is no such Chronic appendicitis.
My relative (82 years old man), had a fever of 39 deg C one night and pain in lower right abdomen, and ultrasound showed his intestines at this part to be swollen and infected (the doc suspected appendicitis, but it was not), and he is currently on antibiotics and panadol right now. It has been over a week and not any better. I do not have insurance nor a job, so it will not be checked until I am nearly dead. I can not even sleep on that side or the pain is so intense in the morning. I think appendicitis would have ruptured by now and I have no fever. I am wondering if I either pulled a muscle in the abdomen/side or maybe a hernia?

I have joined this community in the hope that someone can help me! I am a female, 25 years old and I have been suffering from abdominal pain for years. The pain is usually in the right side, mid-way between my bellybutton and my hip. At times the pain is sharp and stabbing and causes me to double over in pain - I would give it a 7 out of 10 for intensity. Other times the pain on my right side is dull and aching, and sometimes this is replaced with a burning sensation.
the next morning he woke up with severe lower right abdominal pain and fever. i rushed him to the ER, after 3 hours of waiting the doctor ordered some xrays and notified me that my son had walking pneumonia. i asked the doctor how is it that my son has no symptoms of pneumonia and still have a positive xray, he told me it happens.
- My question here is can a appendicitis be confused with pneumonia, and can pneumonia cause abdominal pain?
It begins in the upper area of the abdomen and kind of moves around until it localizes in the lower right abdomen. The fever and dizziness is also indicative of appendicitis. If her abdomen stops hurting all of a sudden, RUSH her to the ER because that is a sign that the inflamed appendix has burst. Please let us know how she is!
I have a 5 year old boy and he is running a fever of 102.6 is is complaining of abdominal pain around his belly button. He is very lethargic and he will not eat. He is not voiding as much. What could be wrong with him. There is no diarrhea or vomiting.
So currently not having major pain just slight discomfort in that area I was thinking could this be from the rough night I had due to drinking or so I go and check it out was kind of worried when I saw that it could be something pretty dangerous left untreated but I was also thinking if it was appendicitis I would probably be feeling alot more pain.

Right lower quadrant pain can be due to ovarian cyst or appendicitis. The intermittent nature of the pain is typical of appendicitis. However it can also be found when the ovarian cyst undergoes torsion. The fever suggests the possibility of infection. Hence it would be best to see your Doctor again. Once a correct diagnosis is made the appropriate treatment can be initiated.
