Common Questions and Answers about Appendicitis fever pain

appendicitis

Avatar m tn It subsides after a couple of hours and there are no residual symptoms. No fever, etc. only very localized LRQ pain. It hurts to walk and I must sit down with great care, I have performed some of the tests for appendicitis such as lying supine with my right leg bent and pushing over to the left...this results in much pain. Having been an EMT for many years I understand this could be appendicitis, however, I am confused about the pain free lapses.
Avatar n tn As far as I know, the most apparent symptom of appendicitis (inflammation of the appendix) is a dull pain in the stomach on the right side, that moves to severe lower right abdominal pain. http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/digestive-diseases-appendicitis The above website explains different symptoms that could accompany appendicitis.
Avatar f tn t have a fever. Do you have to have a fever to have appendicitis? Also, is having lower back pain causing me to have constipation? Please help.
Avatar n tn I can not even sleep on that side or the pain is so intense in the morning. I think appendicitis would have ruptured by now and I have no fever. I am wondering if I either pulled a muscle in the abdomen/side or maybe a hernia?
Avatar m tn An appendix is usually on the right side of your stomach and you will usually run a high fever with appendicitis. However, if you are still concerned, you can call your doctor and ask to speak to a nurse.
Avatar n tn Early this week I started having symptoms of what seemed to be a regular cold. Fever, chills, head and body aching in general. It has been four days, the aching has ceased a bit, the fever comes and goes. But what really has me worried is this unusual very intense pain in my lower back towards the right side extending to my hip and surrounding areas. Could it be kidney problems?
9497408 tn?1404140019 On the surface, your symptoms sound like appendicitis. Your elevated temp, the referred pain, all points to that. Sometimes ultrasounds do not reveal the true issue - they are not detailed enough. Personally, I experienced appendicitis much like you are experiencing. The "twist" was I had a cyst in my intestine as well. It took surgery to locate the problem(s). No test - and I had them all - revealed the truth. Go to the hospital. They are probably thinking you are drug-seeking.
Avatar n tn They sent us home and said if the pain comes back to bring her back in. Can an appendicolith cause an appendicitis or is it one just waiting to happen. Im so frustrated at this point I just want some answers. Thanks..
Avatar f tn t develop fever or vomiting with my appendicitis, reason why it was hard to diagnose, especially because it was behind my ceccum (for 1 month doctors suspected ovary pain...until my appendix burst). Can this time be stump appendicitis and doctors mistake it for cysts again?? I'm scared...
4512492 tn?1355709724 Was also running a low grade fever yesterday, it was 99.
Avatar n tn If you're pain isn't better or its worse, dial 911.
Avatar n tn My concern is he still having low grade fever and lower right quad pain ( increased pain with eating and some activitys) My question is should the appendix be removed due to potential appendicitis in the future due to blockage causing inflam. and infection or can this resolve on it's own. My research shows majority of these stones end up causing appendicitis eventually.
Avatar m tn My relative (82 years old man), had a fever of 39 deg C one night and pain in lower right abdomen, and ultrasound showed his intestines at this part to be swollen and infected (the doc suspected appendicitis, but it was not), and he is currently on antibiotics and panadol right now. He told me that he had pain in his mid-abdomen when young too, not continuing, but on and off. And that he is very tired in the time period around his stroke until now. (start 2008) What could be the problem?
Avatar n tn By Saturday I had developed a mild fever and had lost 4lbs from not eating due to the pain in my side. I went into hospital again - and once again, all my bloods were normal and again, an ultrasound was not ordered as I was told I was not an 'emergency case.' Could this be chronic appendicitis? My mum suffered for years with the same reoccurring pain I have described above, and it wasn't until the very last minute, when she was critically ill, that someone listened.
Avatar f tn So currently not having major pain just slight discomfort in that area I was thinking could this be from the rough night I had due to drinking or so I go and check it out was kind of worried when I saw that it could be something pretty dangerous left untreated but I was also thinking if it was appendicitis I would probably be feeling alot more pain.
Avatar f tn Her symptoms are fever, stomach ache, vomiting, dizziness, and pain shifting from stomach to lower right abdomen. What should I do? I getting really worried about her she hasn't had much sleep and this been going on for 3 days now.
Avatar n tn Welcome to the gastroenterology community! It might be an appendicitis. If it was just a stomach virus causing the pain he probably would have had diarrhea or vomiting. Even though the appendix is located more to the right, the pain can something be in a different place. I would recommend taking him to the ER asap and asking for a CT scan with contrast of his abdomen. Good luck.
6785011 tn?1384780177 Hi, the symptoms you described could be due to appendicitis, that’s when you have pain on the right side just above the pelvis and you may also have referred pain around the umbilicus (belly button). The other symptoms for Appendicitis are fever, nausea, vomiting and malaise. It could also be a premenstrual symptom. The other causes for pain could be urinary tract infections, pelvic infections, renal colic and sometimes bowel infections.
Avatar n tn It was early stage appendicitis. The next day after surgery I was feeling expected pain where the incisions were. I took Norco painkiller. After a couple of days I noticed high heart rate when lying down, couple of times it grew so uncomfortable that I had to walk around a bit to feel comfortable. This has been now going on for almost 5 days and I feel almost perfect during the day, but when laying down at night and sometimes even getting up in the morning, it is disturbing.
Avatar n tn re very young for this to be cancer. Have they checked you for appendicitis? It causes pain to go down your leg, and pain between your ovary area and navel. I have never heard of anyone having sciatica pain with colon cancer, I think this was more of a coincidence with the lady you speak of. A blood test would tell your doctor if this is appendicitis. I have seen cases where it lasts quite awhile before becoming really inflammed.
Avatar f tn HI, Right lower quadrant pain can be due to ovarian cyst or appendicitis. The intermittent nature of the pain is typical of appendicitis. However it can also be found when the ovarian cyst undergoes torsion. The fever suggests the possibility of infection. Hence it would be best to see your Doctor again. Once a correct diagnosis is made the appropriate treatment can be initiated. The answer is based on information provided.
5154898 tn?1374773319 OK, I've been worried sick since about 4 days ago. It all started when i had a muscle spasm beside my belly button (right side), it lasted a whole day. I woke up the next day with a dull pain in the same spot, nothing really painful, just enough to worry me. Now, my lower front (right side), my right side and back on the right side has been aching.
