Avatar n tn How long can i use antihistamine for my daughter aged 7 months to relieve her of the eczema itching.
Avatar n tn But you may benefit from over-the-counter antihistamine medication. And it is important to avoid alcohol to prevent future outbreaks. Also, try to avoid scratching the rashes to prevent secondary infection. To rule out allergy, I would recommend that you check with your dermatologist for allergy testing. You may not be allergic to the alcohol itself, but to the preservatives or additives found in the alcohol. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar n tn Perhaps drinking alcohol not a good idea with any kind of Medication, cut back or cut it out and see how you feel ,after the initial headaches, you may feel better, Hope you work it out.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with chronic hives about one year ago. I was told just take antihistamines because you may never figure out why you are breaking out. After going to an expert dermatoglist who again stated just take medicine to control the hives - I ended up on Allegra, Claritin and Doxepin. My hives seemed managable mostly at this point but in October 2009 I stopped all antihistmaines to have a food alllergy test just to see if anything turned up there.

Avatar f tn ve only been able to drink 3 times in my life because I keep getting the same exact reactions every time I drink alcohol. A few hours after drinking, my skin gets so red, flushed, and swelled. My temperature increases as well and I get chills at night and I also end up shivering even when I'm covered in a thick blanket. The next day, right after drinking alcohol, my body itches. It itches so bad and it lasts up to 5 days, and it's a different kind of itch.
Avatar m tn irritation from hot or spicy foods, or alcohol which lead s to loss of the tongue papillae. These denuded areas may persist for more than a month. No treatment is usually indicated but antihistamine gel or steroid mouth rinses may help with discomfort. While this condition is a harmless condition, it can be recurrent, persistent and uncomfortable. It is best that you have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn First you need to stay on antihistamine until it is gone. Benadryl is great stuff. You should see a GP or allergist doctor. You definitely had a reaction to that sting and are still having it. Sounds like the ER ruled out anaphylaxis but you did have Benadryl in you so that I'm not sure about the results. Just stay on antihistamine on schedule to prevent something worst.
Avatar f tn t itchy, but I could feel my sinuses swell a bit along with my tear ducts swelling. I took an antihistamine, which I haven't taken in a long while. The antihistamine alone was okay, but combine it with using my contacts, and my eyes swell. I don't know if it's the saline or contact solution. So, I stopped the meds, and it went away. My contacts alone are fine. No issues. Last week, I took an antihistamine before getting my allergy injection, and I was fine.
1711722 tn?1356487554 Nyquil is pretty much an antihistamine, a decongestant, a pain reliever like tylenol and of course alcohol. I take Allegra D (an antihistamine and decongestant) and motrin because I cannot take tylenol. I have had a cold or a mild version of the flu at different times since starting tx (am better now). I wouldn't take anything without talking to your doctor but the allegra d was deemed ok by my dr and it is now OTC. I know it is ok with peg+riba+ and incivek.

Avatar f tn I have been drinking beer for a while now, and just recently have been having allergic reactions to most beers. I used to drink Budweiser, Bud light, all the other special Bud's, Michelob ultra, Mickeys, and just about every cheap beer that comes in 40 oz. Recently while drinking these beers, I would breakout in red spots on my chest, arms, and my face would turn red. I would also have difficulty breathing.
Avatar m tn You should keep the areas clean, wear lose comfortable clothes to avoid sweating, use a powder to keep the areas dry , use calamine lotion at the sites. Oral antihistamine medications would help if the lesions are itchy. If your symptoms persist it would be best to consult a skin specialist because nothing can be said with surety without having a look at the lesions. Let us know about how you are doing and if you have any other doubts. Regards.
Avatar f tn Thank you. Yes, I will speak with him after I'm finished with the med's.
Avatar f tn Hello. I am becoming increasingly concerned with an ongoing issue I have. I am on prescription Omeprozole and have been for some time. It does a great job keeping heartburn and acid reflux away. However I have learned that I can't have dairy too close to going to bed. If I have ice cream or milk and lay down within an hour or two I wake up coughing and choking on acidic liquid. So I make sure I don't have dairy. Simple. However, the last couple of nights it's been happening anyways.
Avatar f tn what over the counter meds can help me with the withdrawl symptoms of oxycodone and dilaudid?
Avatar m tn Other causes are irritation from hot or spicy foods, or alcohol. There is a map-like appearance to the surface of the tongue with burning sensation and pain. This condition is harmless but it can be persistent and uncomfortable. Treatment involves use of antihistamine gel or steroid mouth rinses. Do keep me posted. Best wishes and regards!
Avatar n tn This happened 26 years ago and after visits to ear specialists and sinus doctor we pinpointed it to an allergy to beer, my favorite alcoholic drink. Then I quit drinking alcohol completely. A month ago, the vertigo returned. When I get it, it comes on fast, causing me to vomit, An MRI on my brain shows no abnormalities, bleeding or lesions. An ear, nose and throat specialist saw no infection in my outer ear. He did prescribe a decongestant and antihistamine.
Avatar n tn Now with alcohol, that is a slightly separate issue. Alcohol carries with it its own set of health risks, one of them is the potential for heart arrhythmias. I would think if you stay within the heart healthy guidelines of not more than one drink per day for a female or two for a male, you will not have problems. More than that comes the potential to trigger any of the other alcohol related health issues.
Avatar f tn I was out inb the yard watering my plants on Monday, and when I came inside, I noticed a rash in the back of my head, behind my ears and on my neck. I feel sure that something has biten me but what I don't know. The symptoms were negative at first, then I started itching, and it appears that the rash has spread. I've been using calamine lotio and alcohol, for the itching and taking Benadryl. Does anyone have any other suggestions? the bumps are red, itchy and they do burn at times.
