1134609 tn?1269272200 ----I stabilized completely last summer and I was on the brand name version of the medication. When I switched over to the generic, I started having problems and had to increased the dose from 900mgs to 1600mgs over the space of a few months. Any changes in the dosages over this time dropped me into a deep depression and I HAD to drop the dosage many times because it was agitating me. I just assumed it was because I was adjusting to the medication.
Avatar f tn Keep track of all the medications that seem to cause the hives, and maybe even experiment with whether different generics of the same medication have the same side effects (for example one generic atarax is green and another white, which might make a difference if you are allergic to that particular coloring agent). You may even have to have an allergist help you figure out what exactly it is that you are allergic to.
Avatar f tn not life or death type allergies, but sneezing, itchy nose and eyes, headaches. I take a one a day antihistamine to deal with it. .. but it says on the box not to take if pregnant. Im only 7 weeks, and have stopped taking them... but my allergies are horrible at the moment. All the sneezing is not helping with my morning sickness. During my last pregancey my symptoms actually went away but not this time... my question is can i take my antihistamine?
Avatar f tn Hello. I'm making an assumption that you're referring to a generic form of benadryl, or diphenhydramine. This is commonly found in nighttime pain relievers such as tylenol PM, as it causes drowsiness. In addition to its antihistamine effects, it is also used as a sleep aid. One of the symptoms of chronic alcohol abuse is insomnia, as heavy drinkers eventually reach a point where they no longer sleep properly, but pass out instead. This could be the purpose of using such a medication.
Avatar f tn I had cancer during my second pregnancy and a to use iv phenergan or promethazine (generic name) I was on 50 mg every 6 hrs pretty much constantly. My daughter was fine and we never had an problems in resulting from it's use in my pregnancy. Now I'm 32 weeks with baby #3 and I still use it, well pill form now thankfully. Cancer is gone, but I also suffer with Gastroparesis...so far so good.
Avatar n tn How long can i use antihistamine for my daughter aged 7 months to relieve her of the eczema itching.
666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it
Avatar f tn Are Vistirol and Trazedon addictive? Are they a generic of other addictive drugs such as valium, opiate or is it something homepathic?
Avatar f tn what is a generic drug?
Avatar n tn 0 down to 0.
Avatar f tn Yes it's totally legal. If you want more information there's a guy on the internet who outlines the process, whether you travel abroad or order online. He actually wrote a book and started a blog on it. He also started a buyer's club but no need to go that route. His name is Greg Jefferys, google his name for more information.
Avatar m tn It may be worth looking intot the generic name if it is branded differently where you are and talking to your docor about it. Start at a low dose, it can be very strong. Also worth contacting the manufacturers of the meds you have been on, to ask them about lingering side effects or just inform them. It is for them to decide if is is an unheard of reaction whether they need to research it. Not a pharmacist, on less solid ground here so check this out maybe with a qualified pharmacist.
Avatar f tn For some reason I was having sneezing fits pretty bad yesterday, so I took 50mg or Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride, which is a generic antihistamine. The sneezing stopped, I got drowsy (this always happens when I take antihistamine), and within 30 minutes I was beginning to break out in hives. I usually only take 25mg to combat allergies, but I just wasn't in a conciliatory mood yesterday, so I took 50mg.
538782 tn?1213809348 I'm new to this website. Question, I'm soon to be taking my third dose of clomid. I haven't picked up my prescription yet but, i'm lost.. It is more expensive. I don't know what to do.
543225 tn?1214191119 Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions and see if it helps. You could take some oral antihistamine medications like cetrizine or loratadine. You need to maintain a good personal hygiene . Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g.
Avatar n tn My question concerns Synthroid. On Dec 04, 2006 at 12:00AM, Mark Lupo, M.D. said in answer to a question: "Levoxyl is another brand -- there is no advantage to Synthroid. Protecting the brand has advantages over generic regarding consistency of levels. the generic is levothyroxine". Huh? What on earth does that answer mean? "Protecting"? "consistency of levels?
Avatar n tn What is the generic name, chemical name, classification and contraindications for Lyvoxil?
Avatar f tn ve taken, both, generic levothyroxine (T4) and liothyronine (T3), as well, as brand name Synthroid and Cytomel. I did better on on generic levo than I did on Synthyroid... I've been taking generic liothyronine for over 5 yrs and have done just as well as I did on Cytomel. I don't think you'll have any difficulty, with generic T3, but if you do, you can always go back to Cytomel.
Avatar n tn I take synthroid and was wondering if the generic is just as good? Someone told me to never take the generic so I pay extra for the name brand. TIA!
Avatar n tn I have insurance and the copay on my generic script is usually about $2-4 for the whole month and the brand name was over $200 WITH insurance. Does anyone know of an insurance plan that covers these brand drugs to an affordable rate or any way to get a lower price on the brand name?
Avatar n tn Your question is a bit confusing to me. Are you saying that you had the rash, fatigue, etc.on the generic or a brand name? A rash usually means an allergic reaction. What type of thyroid medication are you on?
Avatar m tn ve been taking the generic for about a week until my new prescription for the brand name arrives. I have had diarrhea for two days. The only thing I've done differently is take the generic drug. Do you think this would be causing the diarrhea? If so should I just not take the medication until the correct prescription arrives?
