Avatar f tn Here's one for the books. My daughter has had a allergic reaction to an oral antihistamine she took for what appeared to be hives just below the right side of her derriere. This little bout of hives were taking their time going away and so she thought by taking the antihistamine it would help the process.
666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it

Avatar f tn I went to rite aid and asked the pharmacist what I can take with my symptoms and she said Clariton. so I bought it and have had the biggest headache all day. Will that work for a cold though? I need quick relief!! Anything else I can take? People always assume to drink and eat warm things but my throat LOVES slurpees, that's normal right?
Avatar n tn I have had a headache for about 4 days now off and on on both temples and around my eyes as well as the top of my head. My eyes feel very tired and dry. I have been extremely fatigued to the point it feels uncontrollable. I have never had a headache in my life until now so I'm kind of worried as to what this might be.
Avatar m tn Allergy headaches present with generalized headache, nasal congestion, and watery eyes. Seasonal allergens and antihistamine medications, as mentioned by dame may help provide relief. Avoidance of the trigger may also help. Take care and do keep us posted.

Avatar m tn Are you eating properly, drinking, dehydrated, do you smoke, are you on birth control? Go to your doctor for labs and maybe a CT scan rule out any pathology.
Avatar n tn Here is my situation. I've been having these rash on my penis (mostly around the base of the gland and inside the foreskin) for a long time. I'd say well over 10 years. I am 29 years old, and I started noticing them when I got sexually active. I've been with the same partner for 12 years and we are having unprotected sex. The rash seems to be starting off as small red dots.
Avatar f tn After visiting with the doctor yesterday due to a sinus infection I decided to confess to her about my headaches. :) Headaches that start behind my left eye, always the left. After several of these headaches, starting about 10 years ago, I finally found that Benedryl with a decongestant takes care of it. However, the longer I wait to take the Benedryl the longer it takes to get it under control. So then it radiates to the back of my head and into my shoulder.
Avatar m tn Cold accumulates for 2-3 months and then headache starts. Now days I also get pain back of my head, ears or some time below ears and jaws back side. Can anyone guide me about treatment for such sinus issues. Is any regular tablet or solution I can take avoid regular problem of sinus headache. Does inhaling steam or message with hot water will reduce my trouble? I do get some relief with hot plastic bag message.
Avatar f tn Since then I have avoided taking any antihistmaines except for Benadryl. I did take an occasional Claritin but it seems like every time I did anything I break out more. My allergist told me to try Claritin tabs instead of gel caps but I took one after having my allergy shot and I broke out in hives again. Now all the pollen is out and my eyes are really itchy and red and I have a hard time seeing at work. I tried taking Atarax last night to see if that would help more than Benadryl.
Avatar f tn not life or death type allergies, but sneezing, itchy nose and eyes, headaches. I take a one a day antihistamine to deal with it. .. but it says on the box not to take if pregnant. Im only 7 weeks, and have stopped taking them... but my allergies are horrible at the moment. All the sneezing is not helping with my morning sickness. During my last pregancey my symptoms actually went away but not this time... my question is can i take my antihistamine?
Avatar m tn It is just a Drug store brand...no big name...I use the non drowsy type for daytime if I have Post Nasal Drip...other wise I take the reg drowsy formula at night a few hours b4 I go to bed...and it gets to the point I fall asleep soon after I go to bed.... I hope that helps...just ask ur Pharmacist to suggest what may help u...but this has helped me a great deal and I saw an article that makes claims on how it can help headaches too.
Avatar f tn I was in the rain for 3 hours June 22nd, had sinus drainage ever since, saw an allergist he put me on an antihistamine last week, Sept 22. Now I have a severe sinus headache. Do you think this is an allergy or something else?

203342 tn?1328737207 I don't work right now. I was just wondering if it was something in the air since I have a lot of seasonal allergies, etc. Antihistamine works when I have allergy symptoms but this seems different. I may go to the doctor if this keeps up. Just the last time I went they said it sounded like a sinus infection and gave me antibiotics but that did seem more in my face, or sinuses. This type headache and eye pain keeps coming back.
268356 tn?1236002604 Ugh, I feel awful. My head is all stopped up and my sinuses are draining down the back of my throat making my throat ache and my head ache. I'm not running a fever and (TMI) the snot is still clear so no infection. Just miserable. I have tried benadryl and sudafed, neither seems to be helping. I've got some halls cough drops which were also on my okay list. I was wondering is theraflu okay to take?
Avatar n tn DSM-IV does not classify medications. Coricidin is an antihistamine, not a mental health medication.
1454889 tn?1305048958 The past 3-4 days I’ve had a low-level headache and could use your help I am chalking it up to springtime allergies, which so far have not affected my sinuses as much as last year. But I still have the headache. I’d describe it as starting behind my eyes (pressure) and running up to the front of my head. Sort of like if I grabbed my forehead with my palm covering my eyes. It hurts there. Can you please help me out?

My problems are not as bad as yours though but I have headaches 24/7 all day and all night. I have had them for almost 12 years. Avatar m tn This may present with itchy nose, sneezing , runny nose, tearing eyes, nasal congestion, and even headache. Have this evaluated further by your doctor for proper management. Your medical history and physical examination will help. It is important that you avoid what causes these symptoms. Over-the-counter antihistamine and decongestant medications may also help. Take care and best regards.
