antihistamine

Avatar n tn I have had a headache for about 4 days now off and on on both temples and around my eyes as well as the top of my head. My eyes feel very tired and dry. I have been extremely fatigued to the point it feels uncontrollable. I have never had a headache in my life until now so I'm kind of worried as to what this might be.
Avatar m tn It is an antihistamine and used as a migraine preventative. In Australia, I can buy it without a prescription for AU$7.00 a box. And you may also want to get your blood pressure checked, although I'd be suprised if it was high at your age.
Avatar f tn Here she thought she had done the right thing by taking an antihistamine and it had the exact reverse effect. We have no idea what started this whole process and now treating it is a conundrum. She is presently waiting to get an appointment from an allergist but by the time that happens, the hives should be gone. She is trying benadryl cream (topical) and that seems to be working to some extent on the spots on her arms. With any luck, it will help the rest go away too.
666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it
203342 tn?1328737207 ve had this headache and tired eyes all day. The headache is in the front forehead area and my eyes just feel tired, heavy, dry and sore. I went to bed early last night too! I just don't get this. I take Tylenol and Advil and it doesn't seem to help. It just seems like it has to get out of my system. Sure wish I could figure this out so I could avoid this. It's getting pretty tiresome as I feel kind of out of it when I get these.
Avatar f tn I mean I usually get sick at the same time every year it seems like. right now i have a sore throat, headache, and runny nose(been blowing it all day). I went to rite aid and asked the pharmacist what I can take with my symptoms and she said Clariton. so I bought it and have had the biggest headache all day. Will that work for a cold though? I need quick relief!! Anything else I can take? People always assume to drink and eat warm things but my throat LOVES slurpees, that's normal right?
Avatar n tn What kind were you taking?
Avatar f tn But, I think there might have been pressure on the ear. She told me to take an antihistamine and I did but I still got it back in 4 months and again in 3 months. I'll definitely look into the ENT. I have a good one in our area.
Avatar m tn This may present with itchy nose, sneezing , runny nose, tearing eyes, nasal congestion, and even headache. Have this evaluated further by your doctor for proper management. Your medical history and physical examination will help. It is important that you avoid what causes these symptoms. Over-the-counter antihistamine and decongestant medications may also help. Take care and best regards.
Avatar m tn Allergy headaches present with generalized headache, nasal congestion, and watery eyes. Seasonal allergens and antihistamine medications, as mentioned by dame may help provide relief. Avoidance of the trigger may also help. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn It should be ok to take most fever and headache medications with Xanax. From what I can see, cinnarzine (not available here in the US) is an antihistamine that can cause drowsiness and blurred vision, therefore, I would use caution if taking this while on Xanax since the side effects can be additive.
Avatar f tn After visiting with the doctor yesterday due to a sinus infection I decided to confess to her about my headaches. :) Headaches that start behind my left eye, always the left. After several of these headaches, starting about 10 years ago, I finally found that Benedryl with a decongestant takes care of it. However, the longer I wait to take the Benedryl the longer it takes to get it under control. So then it radiates to the back of my head and into my shoulder.
568429 tn?1216770861 You should take a nutritional diet and some iron supplements and multivitamins. Exercise and adequate sleep will also help in treating fatigue. Regards and pls keep us posted on how you are doing.
Avatar n tn Here is my situation. I've been having these rash on my penis (mostly around the base of the gland and inside the foreskin) for a long time. I'd say well over 10 years. I am 29 years old, and I started noticing them when I got sexually active. I've been with the same partner for 12 years and we are having unprotected sex. The rash seems to be starting off as small red dots.
Avatar m tn I am having cold problem from last 20 years. Now from last 8 years I am facing headache and clogging of cold in sinus passage. I do have cold and dust ( old accumulated dust) allergy and hence if I do some cleaning of old articles or spend more time in water, I get immediate cold problem. Cold accumulates for 2-3 months and then headache starts. Now days I also get pain back of my head, ears or some time below ears and jaws back side. Can anyone guide me about treatment for such sinus issues.
Avatar f tn My allergist told me to try Claritin tabs instead of gel caps but I took one after having my allergy shot and I broke out in hives again. Now all the pollen is out and my eyes are really itchy and red and I have a hard time seeing at work. I tried taking Atarax last night to see if that would help more than Benadryl. Big mistake since I woke up broke out in bad hives. I had to wait to get home to take benadryl since I am not 100% certain that Benadryl does not give me hives.
Avatar f tn I personally take a claritin everyday. I have seasonal allergies and pet dander makes my eyes and face really itchy. My Dr OKed it and said its totally safe. Hope this helps.
1635132 tn?1305063930 Hi, Dramamine or dimenhydrinate is usually indicated for nausea, vomiting, and dizziness caused by motion sickness. This antihistamine also treat other motion and balance problems or inner ear problems. If your headache is associated with allergies, this medicine may greatly help stop histamine release. Talk to your doctor about this for proper management. Take care and best regards.
Avatar f tn I was in the rain for 3 hours June 22nd, had sinus drainage ever since, saw an allergist he put me on an antihistamine last week, Sept 22. Now I have a severe sinus headache. Do you think this is an allergy or something else?
612551 tn?1450022175 I had prior to the vet visit above been given Wilson one half Benedryl 25 mg Antihistamine morning and evening, in the hope it would clear up the paw problem. A couple weeks of this did not produce any improvement. I then checked and saw recommendations to use 1 - 2 mg per pound. As Wilson is j20+ pounds my does level was low. I have decided to continue giving him Benadryl but now one 25 mg capsule morning and night. Hope it keeps his paws and general itch problems under control.

1268921 tn?1288919056 As bibigirl12_10 has said, cyrproheptadine is an antihistamine, but it works WONDERS for my migraines. It's the first med that I was put on, and every time somebody (idiotically) tries to take me off it, I promptly get the Migraine of Doom that will last for up to several months. So it's definitely a good one to try. Does your doc know how much weight you've gained? I would definitely tell your doc, if you haven't already, about the weight gain.
268356 tn?1236002604 ve got some theraflu in my desk here at work that works for sore throat, body ache, headache, nasal congestoin, fever, and runny nose. All of which I have minus the fever. The active ingredients are acetaminphen (same as tylenol which I know is okay), pheniramine (antihistamine), and phenylephrine (nasal decongestant).
351404 tn?1299489130 Had an eczema with itching outbreak on forehead area and took a Benadryl antihistamine pill. Fine for 24 hours, then took another and that night had a three hour AFib episode. I remember about 20 years ago, I last took an antihistamine and got flutters. Is there a connection between AFib and antihistamine, ie have others an opinion or experience of this?
1454889 tn?1305048958 The past 3-4 days I’ve had a low-level headache and could use your help I am chalking it up to springtime allergies, which so far have not affected my sinuses as much as last year. But I still have the headache. I’d describe it as starting behind my eyes (pressure) and running up to the front of my head. Sort of like if I grabbed my forehead with my palm covering my eyes. It hurts there. Can you please help me out?
